A presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sam Nda-Isaiah, on Tuesday paid the mandatory N2.5 million to the party as expression of interest for the 2015 presidential race.
This was contained in a statement the Director-General of his campaign outfit, Sam4Nigeria, Maamoun Saleh, in Abuja.
“This is to inform the general public that the founder of LEADERSHIP Newspapers Group and APC presidential aspirant, Sam, has paid N2, 500, 000 to the APC as expression of interest fee for the presidential race,” the statement said.
Mr. Nda-Isaiah has become the second presidential aspirant on the party’s platform to pay the fee after former vice president, Atiku Abubakar who did so a few days ago.
The aspirant will formally declare his intention to contest for the APC ticket on October 28 in Minna, the Niger State capital.
The Executive Director, Public Affairs of Sam4Nigeria, Ibrahim Tukur, had said in a statement that Mr. Nda-Isaiah had consulted family members and friends across the country before deciding to join the presidential contest.
