The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, on Sunday condemned the killing of dozens of Fulanis in Numan area of Adamawa State.

The sultan, foremost traditional ruler in Northern Nigeria, warned that the Fulani’s patience and silence over recent killings of their kinsmen in Adamawa should not be misconstrued for weakness.

He called for through investigation in to the recent killings in four Numan villages in Adamawa State by suspected persons of the Bachama ethnic group. No group has, however, claimed responsibility for the killings.

Speaking in Yola on Sunday during the commissioning of Pulaaku FM, a radio station owned by the Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo, Mr. Abubakar condemned the massacre of the dozens of women and children in Shaforon, Kikem and Kodemti villages in Numan.

PREMIUM TIMES reported the Numan killing on Monday with the police confirming the murder of 30 women and children by the attackers.

The sultan, who was represented by the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, stressed that government and other relevant security authorities should thoroughly investigate those involved for peace to reign.

“May I use this opportunity to sympathise with people of Adamawa State, on the recent incident in Numan; and to appeal to security services, to thoroughly investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to book,” he said.

“We have not forgotten what happened to Fulanis in Mambilla, Taraba State and we are still waiting for action from the security services.”

The sultan then gave the warning against misconstruing “patience for weakness.”

“It is important to remember, that at many points in our history, we make mistakes of confusing patience for weakness.

“I hope, we would not make that mistake this time; what happened in Numan would not go unpunished,” he said.

The police are yet to prosecute anyone for the Numan killings.

    Threats ….threats ….threats ….threats everywhere!

    • Iskacountryman

he who kills a fula buys a debt…

  • disqus_jLJUa0YmE9

Good. Massacre of defenseless women and children is highly unacceptable.

  • obiora

Can fulani people talk about killings while they are the killers in Afrika.

  • Pawa2

Irresponsible talk from someone who calls himself a leader. When did he ever talk like that when Fulanis were killing people of other ethnic groups.

    • Lanre

Brig. Gen (Rtd) Abubakar, The Sultan of Sokoto was the Defence Attache of Nigeria to Pakistan. The crisis in Nigeria is instigated by powerful people. Enough said.

    • Kate Bello Edward

I am shocked he is talking now, so the lives of Fulani people is more important than those of others they have been killing, raping, beheading and taking over their farm lands all over the nation? The injustice in this nation under this regime is unthinkable, very sad state of a nation.

  • ijelejames

Sultan, what is your view about fulani killing other tribes indiscriminately. You must be out of your mind, I mean hopelessly insane. What a troll!

    • Razor

      Spot on.

    • Biafran 1967

You’re one of the people who abuse us for wanting out of Nigeria. You see your country and leaders ba.

      • ijelejames

I don’t know you my friend. Get on the discussion and stop trolling.

    • KELLOGGS

THIS MAN IJELE GUY HAS FINALLY MADE SOME SENSE FOR ONCE IN HIS LIFE.

WHAT’S NEXT, IS HE ABOUT TO SHAVE HIS TERRORIST BEARD? HA I PRAY OH!

      • ijelejames

Stop fooling around. We are discussing serious issues. This is no play time. What has my beard got to do with you?

  • Ibraheem Aruna

Dear Emir Muhammad Sanussi , I have a lot of respect for your opinion. To paraphrase you in a previous speech you had made about Nigeria “You are speaking in the language of 1953” Those comments are unhelpful. You are a leader, for God sake. If the Sultan of Sokoto had given you such a speech to read you ought to have sought his permission to modify those comments. Bachama people are Nigerians and your “Arewa” people too. Get involved for God sake, influence, sought out the Fulani Herdsmen/farmers, grazing menace that is constituting the Fulani as an unpopular ethnic group. Nigeria belongs to all us.

    • Bryan

      Best comment here. Kudos

      • KELLOGGS

IT’S A GOOD COMMENT, BUT IT’S FAR FROM THE BEST COMMENT HERE.

IT GIVES TOO MUCH RESPECT TO A RASCAL.

LOOK, HAUSAS AND OTHER NORTHERN MINORITIES:

SHOW SOME SPINE. IT’S ABOUT TIME YOU SHOOK-OFF THESE FULANIS THAT CONQUERED YOUR FOREFATHERS WITH THE SWORD, AND SUBJUGATED YOU. YOU CAN TELL IT WAS A MISTAKE. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. THESE PEOPLE HATE YOU AS MUCH AS THEY HATE “NYAMIRIS”.

        • Chym

          Exactly

  • Ahmed Yaman

Just look at the type of speech someone call him self a leader is giving, when the Fulani’s kill other Nigerian’s what did you people say about it..fools

  • Tess

It’s good that the true enemies of Nigeria, indeed the sponsors of the herdsmen are revealing themselves. One thing this man should know is that the Nigeria they used to take for granted is dead and buried. Every ethnic group is quite capable of defending itself against an occupier ethnic group. Nobody is a slave to the other. You’ve been killing people indiscriminately, and when people retaliate, you cry wolf. Such era is over. It will get worse when every ethnic group unite against you. Seek peace and not dominance.

  • Decimator

The sultan then gave the warning against misconstruing “patience for weakness.” PT

Mr. Sultan this amounts to Hate Speach and that is even according to your own assesment.

    What a disaster?

  • Mentus

This is clearly hate speech by somebody who should know better, inciting violence by the Fulanis. What has Lai Mohamed got to do about this. So all the other tribes Fulanis have been massacring are weak for not retaliating.

    • KELLOGGS

      It’s so Sa’ad!!!!!!!!

    • emmanuel

The man should be arrested or we all say what suits our minds, as hate speech has been certified okay.
Where is the DSS man? We all know that by tommorrow morning, they will say he was quoted out of context.

    • Lanre

Mentus. This is the reason Nigeria is the way it is. The Sultan of Sokoto is a Retired General of the Nigerian Army. Go Figure!

  • Igho D Amazing

Yes it’s obvious u are the sponsor of those evil bastards killing innocent people.. When ur Animalistic foolanis kill people u don’t talk, but when people match u eye for an eye u are here wailing.. Evil bastard!!

    • KELLOGGS

      Abi ooooo!!

    • Razor

      Well said.

  • Solomon Brown

The sultan making veiled threats now that the shoe is on the other foot, when herdsmen were on a killing spree in the south, no one heard the “patience, silence misconstrued for weakness” balderdash. A team of mobile policemen have already been deployed to the area, law enforcement is on top of the situation, we should wait patiently for the outcome of the investigation, Fulani lives are not more precious than Tiv, Berom, Yoruba or Igbo lives.

  • General Sam Bockerie

I congratulate the Bachama warlords for this action. Although the deaths of women and children is regrettable, it is neccessary to remind the fulanis once in a while that they have no monopoly of violence and licence to kill. This is just the beginning……as long as the fulanis believe they possess the licence to kill and disposess people of their source of livelihoods, they should expect more of such attacks. I hope the cowardly Benue and Plateau people are learning a thing ot two!

  • Bassey Frank

Please, let’s ensure that killing of Fulanis is stopped. Instead, let Fulanis and their herdsmen keep killing others. That is what the Sultan wants. I don’t support the killing of any tribe; but keeping silent, like PMB did, while Fulanis are killing other tribes is totally unacceptable.

  • Opekete

What is the Sultan talking about? What was his reaction when Fulani herdsmen has been ravaging the farm of people, killing and raping their wives and children? This unguarded statement and provocative reaction could turn the whole people of the south and middle belt against the marauding fulanis and nothing the government can do about it. This may be the beginning of the end for Nigeria as we all know it.

  • ima

Adolf Hitler once said; you do not give appeasement for terror, you give terror for terror. At some point, even the weak will stop running and fight back. This govt will be kicked out come 2019. With PDP, we go back to a one party system again. Buhari has squandered a lifetime opportunity and the effort of the jagaban to strenghten our democracy.

    • emmanuel

I beg commot Jagaban from here. Tinubu had an agenda which was personal and even worse than the entire foolani’s put together. They are his muslim brothers, the religion they used to cheat Abiola and himself, including Aregbesola they led to destroy his state and was left dry after he set up his Islamic hegemony

      • ima

I will not dispute your claims, but having another mega party beside PDP is good for democracy. And hereby pray for a third one.

    • princegab

      Cool truth, thanks

  • Yahuza Muazu

Sultan spoke the truth a reasonable human being can never compensate a mere grasses with soul

    • emmanuel

You are a deluded coward who think you own life.
You have taken the quietude of other ethnic groups in Nigeria for cowardice and you are paying for your errors already.

  • Razor

Wow wow wow wow wow, this is disgusting to say the least. What a leader, the man should be ashamed of himself for making such comments. I HAVE NEVER HEARD HIM CONDEMN THE WANTON KILLINGS BY HIS FULANI KINSMEN WITHIN THE LENGTH AND BREADTH OF NIGERIA. Double standards at its best. Now they are gradually revealing their agenda and intentions. We are watching with keen interest.

    • okenwa

I thought he should be arrested for hate speech.

      • Razor

        I thought as much bro.

  • Ayinde

This is bull shit and rubbish by both the Sultan and Emir of Kano. where they asleep when their kits and kins were killing innocent soul in Taraba, Benue, Adamawa, Plateau. Now a segment in Adamawa has responded now they are awake and now threatening hell and brim stone. Both Bigots should be called to order in the event of any reaction in the area.

    • emmanuel

The Numans should get ready for reprisals and watch the Military carefully, because they would provide means for the foolanis counter attack.
They should get their local hunters ready. The Jukuns, Berom and all others around there should also not sleep, because they may take it across

  • emmanuel

This man with his impotent brain should bury himself in shame. I have warned severally that the foolanis have overstrectched their luck for a very long time and they are almost at the point where the Rwanda treatment may become inevitable.
Unfortunately, that is beginning to happen in smaller scale, following Buhari’s attitude as the President of Nigeria which gave the foolani’s the gusto to continue on their careless, murderous and destructive tracks.
They have dealt heavy blows on their neighbours and host – the indigenous people of the North who now see themselves used and mistreated. It is now time to assert themselves and this is future outlook of Nigeria. They though the Otoms of this world would continue carry APC above their heritage until the man after he shed so much tears decided to take his peoples destiny to heart.

  • MilitaryPolice01 [Joint Chief]

That speech by the Sultan is not worth the filthy paper it was scribbled on. It is quite disappointing that a learned and more enlightened Emir of Kano accepted to read such irresponsible and inciting statement on behalf of the sultan. Though violence against men women and children alike of all tribe ethnicity and religion must be condemned, one cannot hesitate to ask why the sultan lost his voice when numerous innocent souls in Plateau, Benue, etc were massacred by Fulani terrorists – just because they insisted the sanctity of their farmlands and primary source of livelihood be respected.

The sultan by this statement has stoked the fire of vengeance and retaliation, which the Fulani are known for even if it takes years. He should therefore by held responsible if a retaliatory massacre takes place.

    • emmanuel

Enugu, Delta, Ekiti, Edo, Cross Rivers, Kaduna?

    • Bryan

We should all come together to condemn killings no matter the tribe or religion but I’m shocked the Sultan can say something like this. I used to feel he was very moderate and considered himself a father to all, especially in the North. This his statement is very reckless and can incite the people into taking the law into their own hands.
      Truly sad.

      • okenwa

Wetin concern me. They are one north.

        • Chym

          Abi

          • okenwa

            Yes oooo.

        • Reginald Dandeson

One north indeed. I pity the unthinking and enslaved Huasas.

    • Lanre

MilitaryPolice01 [Joint Chief]. From your moniker, I am assuming you know a bit about the military. Do you know The Sultan is a Retired Officer of the Nigerian Army. A General? Why would a General occupying such an important position in Northern Nigeria issue such a statement? When some of us say we are going to continue working for the independence of Yorubas from Nigeria, people call us names. How many Yorubas, including M.K.O Abiola, Chief Bola Ige, Chief (Mrs.) Kudirat Abiola, Chief Alfred Rewane have been killed by unknown “soldiers?” Enough said.

      • MilitaryPolice01 [Joint Chief]

Lanre my brother, I get your point, that is what should be expected from somebody of that experience, exposure, training and expertise, but you will find that racism or bigotry is often propagated from the top overtly by such highly placed folks. This one is no different.

    • okenwa

      They must retaliate.

  • emmanuel

Where is Onike and Soyemi? Your religious leader and tribesman has spoken

    • Otile

You know they will play dead on this.

    • Chym

Those ones are slaves with chains

  • thusspokez

The sultan, foremost traditional ruler in Northern Nigeria, warned that the Fulani’s patience and silence over recent killings of their kinsmen in Adamawa should not be misconstrued for weakness.

A foremost traditional ruler in Northern Nigeria indeed. If this is not a coded incitement to tribalism and violence, what is?

So now he is spokesperson for the Fulani ethnic group — temporarily suspending his role as a so-called foremost traditional ruler in Northern Nigeria. He belittles his title, and he is a tribalist; and therefore shame on him!

    • emmanuel

You get it wrong. By his position, he is the head of Islam, Foolanis and Northern Nigeria (since the indigenous people; including the Numans have long surrendered their sovereignty to the foolanis). So he has authority to speak their mind

      • Lu Nideino Nickson

Your statement is full of so much ignorance.

        • emmanuel

If my statement is full of ignorance, then it is time you liberate yourselves from the animals. 2019 is around the corners, we must team up to bring an end to animals leading humans

          • Lu Nideino Nickson

I don’t know which liberation you are referring to, for we and other tribes are not under any emirate, we select our own king. If you are referring to political power, have you liberated yourself from them? There are millions of people in the north ready to team up with you, the problem with you folks is: you don’t see the difference, everyone from the north is muslim and hausa, And you continue to hold on to that. I was mad when a lady from Akwa Ibom asked me if I am a muslim even after telling her my name is Luke. Obviously, as far as she is concerned since I’m from the north then automatically I’m a muslim.

    • Otile

As if you don’t know that he is a Fulani patriot.
For him Fulani first before corrupt one Nigeria.
      He knows.

    • FirecloudOFGOD

Sardauna of Sokoto, a descendant of Usman Dann Fodio (UDF) many years ago promised he will dip the Koran in the Atlantic Ocean. There is nothing wrong with that per se, as long as it is not by Usman Dan Fodio (UDF) approach of ‘convert by conquest’ but by through conviction. Then, the post and objective was mile posted.

The ubiquitous rampaging Foreign Fulani Herdsmen are the agents, but the consequent reaction of the oppressed Christian minority middle belters has now triggered the drawing of distinct battle lines. This unexpected response is too galling for the real brains and it suffocates their true plans. Anyone surprised by the so called dire warnings coming from another descendant of UDF family line?

      • thusspokez

There is nothing wrong with that per se, as long as it is not by Usman Dan Fodio (UDF) approach of ‘convert by conquest’ but by through conviction.

That was them, UDF raided poor primitive Hausa villages. The Sultan is deluding himself if he thinks that reminding people of the Fulani Jihad and conquest of the Hausa in the 19th century will frighten anyone unless the weaklings.

Today, the world is awash with Kalashnikov and anyone can learn to fire it in a matter of minutes. So I am not bothered by any threats any descendant of UDF who choose to live on the stale glory of yore.

The main reason the sultan is seriously worried and hence making his threats to the other ethnic groups in the north is his sudden realisation that these ethnic groups can fight back and are fighting back and the Fulani being a small minority (without Hausas support) is doomed.

        • Reginald Dandeson

Oh! I didn’t know you had written this. Very true.

  • princegab

No one has taken responsibility. It could be handiwork of BH. May the souls of the deceased rest in peace.

    • Otile

It’s probably the handiwork of the devil.

  • Zy

The Sultan will soon unleash the Agatu and Nimbo treatment on those the suspected to have carried out this attack. You guys should watch out for another attack on Christians on those areas.

    • Fulaniwahala

Ur right sir. But people should not fall down their hand but their prepared to face the reality, fulani people are not ghost there are human being as well why afred of them.

  • Lanre

Does anyone remember that The Sultan of Sokoto is a retired Brigadier General in the Nigerian Army? No wonder Nigeria is the way it is.

  • Daniel

Very shocking to read this from a foremost traditional ruler .

We are beginning to understand why the herdsmen are boldly killing innocent people around the country.

    • okenwa

Can you imagine. Giving warning to who?

    • Arabakpura

All the people from the Northern part of Nigeria currently jostling to rule Nigeria are Fulani; so, I think it’s their birthright to treat their neighbors as they like!

      • Reginald Dandeson

I do appreciate your concern in your question. The truth is that the Hausa who are not Fulani are the real problem up north. They’re a conquered race from the conquests of Othman Dan Fodio and they have accepted never to challenge the authority of the Fulani over them.

What beats my imagination is that the Fulani are a minority tribe in Nigeria, yet the Hausa aid them in exercising control over the majority. At the same time, in the West African Country where they originally migrated from, the Fulani are a majority tribe but have no foothold on the political and social affairs of the country. They are second or third class citizens there. I don’t really understand Nigeria and Nigerians.

        • Arabakpura

Yeah, you are right; the Tuaregs are dealing with the Fulani in the other areas but they are Hausa overlords in Nigeria with low population! What more can buttress slavery than the coinage “Hausa-Fulani?” There is no such thing and when they tried it with the other nomadic tribe of the Sahara – the Tuareg, though smaller in number, they ate them and their animals!

  • Arabakpura

All these killings describe the failure of Buhari! The Fulani have declared a second jihad and the opponents should get ready!

  • omo56

By his statement and silence on the thousands of lives taken by the Fulani herdsmen indicate that the only things that matter to the Fulani is another fulani and their cattle

They will be fighting on so many fronts that they are bound to loose

  • Bola Ajibola

“out of the abundance of the heart; the mouth speaketh”
Terribly irresponsible statement, so the chicken knows how to keep it’s own

    • Femi Obatoke

      Asolutely sir,quite unfortunate

  • JOHN

The Sultan’s threat confirm that the Sultan and the emir of Kano are actively involved in the terrorism the Fulani herdsmen have unleashed on innocent Nigerians that have mindlessly murdered tens of thousands of innocent Nigerians and destroyed trillions of Naira worth of properties with the attendant tears, sorrows and traumas. The sultan has now threatened that there will be revenge meaning the policy of blood letting is being strengthened. The security agencies should hold the sultan responsible for the previous killings and envisaged future killings by the Fulani terrorists. Remember that no single Fulani has ever been prosecuted and brought to justice in their different rampages possibly because the President has not directed so. This Fulani people have become the worst enemies of Nigerians.

    • Chym

      Exactly

  • JELEEL ABAS

This Sultan Abubakar has never pretended that he is father and sponsor of terrorism. He is the father of Boko Haram and father and sponsor of these so-called Fulani herdsmen who have slaughtered hundreds of thousands in the past few years alone. These blood sucking sultan knows these people and has never condemned them when they were killing thousands of innocent people. He has been a major sponsor and arm supplier of the killings in Jos for many years.
But God will judge them. They will expire before they expire. Wickedness will not last forever. It is the effect of wickedness that will last forever.

  • Jideofor Bismillah Akbar

Am surprised igbos are siding with tribes not igbos. Don’t forget that Nnamdi Kanu said “we should not see ourselves, concerned with matters of these inferior non Igbo tribes who are nothing but beast of the field compared to the more advanced Igbo master race”. We are happy these savages are finishing themselves off!!!! Only Igbos doing business there should be evacuted immediately. Let these hopeless lives save us the trouble of finding how best to exterminate them and remove them from Igbo communities and end their years of polluting Igbo race by that rape of sham marriage giving innocent good Christian Igbo girls to these inferior northerners.

    • NoSpinEd

The idea of a “master race” is not new. Adolf Hitler had the same illusions of grandeur about his “Aryan ” blue-eyed master race. More than 30 million lives were lost because of his folly. Need we replicate his buffoonery?

  • Abner Zaman Yuyu

Is a shame, for the Sultan to say what he is saying now where has the Sultan been when the Fulanis were carrying out their activities of destroying farms and killing of people of different communities? You are a leader you should be careful with the wordings and timing of the words. What were your words when the Fulanis carrying out their activities in Miango Plateau state and when it happened in Benue state, these just to mentioned but a few…

    • thusspokez

He should carrying on undermining his traditional role and make himself unpopular.

  • Razor

Why don’t you take your time to check if Nnamdi Kanu actually said what the poster said he said before you judge him. I don’t think that would be hard to do given how information is available on the web today.

    • Dr Bunmi Binitie

I dont have the time to be checking what Nnamdi Kanu said. And there is no need becos he said things more vile than that

      • Razor

You don’t have time to check what Nnamdi Kanu said but you have time to respond to a post about him. That is the height of hypocrisy to say the least.

Dont be rude! I am not your age-mate! How dare you!!

Is this a classroom or a research class? Who are you to question me or anybody? You Nnamdi followers are always looking for opportunity to abuse and curse like him. Thats his legacy. Is that a role model? He has now jettisoned you all and ran away with millions. Dont take out your frustration on me!

Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth. The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear; Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely. Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Lord . Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.

As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones. Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually. Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the Lord , and of them that speak evil against my soul.” Psalms 109:17‭-‬20

They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause. Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand. When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin. Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

How nice that you have injected his mother into the conversation. A very good move I must say and worthy of emulation! Following Christ is not easy but making a show of it is! Even when we are reviled in fact, Christ taught us not to respond and to bless in its place. When our behaviour is effectively marked as inappropriate, we learn our lesson and move on.
When Paul called out Peter for stopping to eat with the Gentiles, the bible did not tell us that Peter invoked his elderly status or resorted to insults.
We must decide in reality what and who we want to be.
Not only did you try a very infantile move of insulting a parent, it is a poor example of even our cultural ethos which you have attempted to justify your behaviour.
Our society has refused to grow because we must defer to elders even when they are wrong. For many years Asian airlines experienced a lot of crashes because the chief pilot could not be corrected by the 1st officer.

“The sultan, foremost traditional ruler in Northern Nigeria, warned that the Fulani’s patience and silence over recent killings of their kinsmen in Adamawa should not be misconstrued for weakness.”

And it is this same sultan that preaches peace? This is the problem when you elect politicians and ex-military men to occupy the exalted seat of the Sultan! This man should be ashamed to bear the name of Sir Abubakar the third as his surname, a man of peace and a symbol of unity in this country. A man I personally knew! This sultan was not qualified in the first place to be sultan but politicians put him there. Yaro bai gaji halin babansa ba! (meaning the son has not inherited the good virtues of his father). He may resemble him, yews, but is in no way close to his character and virtues. His late father had class, biut this man has no class. There are seats you occupy that bar you from speaking carelessly. I have followed many of the hate speeches this man has spewed out especially since this government came to power. This is a man who, together with another hypocrite in the person of Cardinal Anaiyekan, Archbishop of Abuja who will pretend they are preaching peace in Nigeria when indeed they in fact promoting religious bigotry and ethnic divisions. May God save Nigeria if these are the kinds of people we call religious leaders. No wonder, they are best of friends who try to place themselves above everyone else when it comes to the unity of Nigeria. How can a sultan preach violence? This is antithesis to the religion of Islam that preaches peace.

This, from the Sultan? Does this minority Fulani man realize that times have changed and that moslem solidarity is gone for good? Does he realize that aggrieved Moslems now attack and kill their fellow most, even inside the Mosques? And that that being so, the conquered Hausa tribe can now rise up to demand their rightful freedom from the minority Fulani? If this man called Sultan should go along the path he has mapped out in his speech of threat, he will end up being sorry for what has hit him. Mark my words!!!

I never thought I would see the day. This is the beginning of the end of the Sultan and his Caliphate movement. He has proven himself a Caliph of the future after all. He only speaks when his Jihad militia is under attack and wants the rule of law to take effect only for his army. It is remarkable how much this man has entrapped himself with these comments. It also exposes John Kerry and the Obama administration when they treated this man like a head of state back in 2016.

Sultan, Buhari and the Fulani in general have declared war on the Middle Belt and the South by using their jihadists to kill thousands of Nigerians in the two regions and destroying houses and crops/farms worth trillions of Naira. He (Sultan) is only pouring gasoline on fire with his tribal and parochial warning. The South and Middle Belt MUST unite now in action and purpose to send the Fulani to the Sahara desert where they belong. Enough is enough!

KILLING OF 45 FULANI PERSONS IN NUMAN, ADAMAWA STATE BY UNKNOWN GUNMEN:
CONFIRMATION OF EXISTENCE OF MILITIA GROUPS READY TO PUT AN END TO YEARS
OF ATROCITIES AND EXPANSIONIST DRIVE BY FULANI IN THE MIDDLE BELT

The recent killing of 45 Fulani persons by unknown gunmen in Numan,
Adamawa state, is a sign of the EXISTENCE of militia groups in the
Middle Belt to put an end to unending killing by Fulani militants and
jihadists under Buhari’s watch. Put succinctly, it is a sign of the
existence of armed and battle militia groups with firm resolve to put a
final end to years of atrocities, settlement and expansionist drive by
Fulani in the Middle Belt of Nigeria.

    This is coming days after
national body of Fulani cattle rearers threatened that its members would
not obey Anti-Open Grazing Law in Benue and Taraba states.

The first of such killing of some Fulani by unknown gunmen was in Mambila, Taraba state in mid-2017.

That came days after armed Fulani herdsmen staged a protest in front of
Taraba Sate Assembly/Legislature and ‘warned’ the legislature to
discontinue debate on Anti-Open Grazing Bill sent to it by the Governor,
    Darius Ishaku.

I do not want to believe that these are isolated incidents or mere coincidences.

I am afraid, more may come.

Muhammadu Buhari created a state of nature or anarchy in Nigeria where
“life is short, nasty and brutish”, according to Thomas Hobbs by turning
his eyes away and folding his hands, or, at best providing protection
for killer Fulani jihadists and Islamists, as they snuff life out of
thousands of unarmed innocent farmers and villagers in Agatu and other
communities in Benue state, Southern Kaduna, Plateau, Taraba, Delta,
Ondo and a number of other states in Nigeria.

By allowing armed Fulani militants and jihadists to roam freely and kill other Nigerians
enmasse in the Middle Belt and parts of South for over 2 years counting ,
Buhari ushered in the reign of terror and death and it is only natural
that those threatened with terror and death by Fulani merchants of death
    should respond appropriately.

Therefore, the emergence and existence of militia groups in the Middle Belt or any other part of
Nigeria is a natural response to the unending killing of other Nigerians
and destruction of farms/crops; houses and annexation of ancestral
lands belonging to indigenous Nigerians by Fulani militants and
jihadists enjoying state support from Buhari’s government.

The first law of Nature, according to Thomas Hobbs, is survival of the
fittest and the best form of defence in warfare is tactical and
    strategic attack.

The refusal of Buhari to protect other
Nigerians from near daily slaughter by Fulani jihadists, can only give
birth to defence militias and vigilante groups in the Middle Belt and
other parts of Nigeria and that is where Nigeria finds herself
    currently.

Anarchy begets anarchy and violence begets violence.

With the latest audacious and brazen threat and vow by the national
umbrella body of Fulani Cattle Rearers, the Miyetti Allah to stop
implementation of anti-open grazing laws in Benue and Taraba
specifically, the stage is set for a bloody armed conflict between
Fulani herdsmen/jihadists and the various autochtonous Christian tribes
in the Middle Belt, who have being victims of years of killing and
destruction of farms/crops, houses and rape by Fulani militants and
jihadists enjoying backing, protection and support from the federal
government and security agencies especially since Buhari became
president of Nigeria on May 29, 2015.

Should Buhari deploy soldiers and other security agencies in Adamawa following the killing of
some Fulani persons in Numan by unknown gunmen, the instruction would
be for them to protect the Fulani and make sure no more attacks or
reprisal attacks are carried out against his ‘kinsmen’ by unknown gunmen
or whoever, like was the case in Miango and other communities in
Plateau state, where Fulani jihadists killed scores of natives recently.

Should that happened, Buhari would have succeeded again in
further convincing the world that he is in power only for his Fulani
kinsmen and not any other tribe or Nigerian, whether in the Middle Belt
    or South.

Deployment of ‘security agencies’ in Numan to protect
Fulani and track/disarm/arrest the unknown gunmen that killed some
Fulani in the town, would only further isolate Buhari and his government
from the Christian Middle Belt, toughen their hearts and strengthen
their resolve and determination to defend their lives and property from
destruction and ancestral lands from further being taken over by Fulani
jihadists masquerading as herdsmen and enjoying state support and
    protection from Buhari’s government.

From all indications, there is no doubt that the stage is set for an armed showdown between Fulani
jihadists and the autochtonous tribes of the Middle Belt particularly
in Benue, Adamawa, Plateau and Taraba, courtesy of years of grave
atrocities by Fulani herdsmen/jihadists and their latest threat not to
abide by the Anti-Open Open Grazing Law that recently took effect in
Benue state and to take effect in Taraba state in January 2017,
according to information released by Taraba government.

It appears that the conflict that would end Nigeria’s existence as a state
would start from the Middle Belt and it is going to be between the
indigenous people of Middle Belt and Fulani migrant settlers in their
    midst.

To the Fulani herdsmen and migrants settlers in the
Middle Belt and Southern Nigeria, “every piece of land is from Allah and
belongs to nobody”. This to them, means they can rear their herds
anywhere and everywhere, including farms and destroy crops, then kill
the poor farmer if he protests or challenges them; after all their
father, brother, kinsman and ‘LIFE PATRON’ of cattle herders in
Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, is ‘president of Nigeria’ , SO, NOTHING DEY
    HAPPEN!

To the indigenous tribes of Middle Belt, especially in
Benue, Plateau, Taraba and Adamawa, aware of the existential threat
posed to them by the Fulani, the time to stand and fight or fold their
arms and die and allow Fulani take over their ancestral land is now.

The Fulani have declared war against the people of Middle Belt and by
extension, the South by vowing to fight against implementation of
Anti-Open Grazing laws being implemented in a number of states where the
marauding merchants of death have carried out thousands of killing of
farmers and villagers in the name of “cattle rearing, grazing rights and
free movement for cattle and cattle rearers”.

There is no doubt that Muhammadu Buhari would continue to deploy ‘security agencies’ to
protect his jihadist foot soldiers, the Fulani herdsmen whenever they
come under attacks or reprisal attacks in any part of Nigeria.

Time shall tel whether his ‘security agencies’ would succeed in
protecting the Islamic Jihadists disguising as herdsmen and help them
take over lands belonging to indigenous Nigerians.

The Middle Belt, having been pushed to the wall by the Fulani, appears ready to end
years of Fulani security menace and threat and set themselves free from
death, destruction and extermination and end the latter’s decades of
bondage, slavery, oppression and killing, once and for all.

It is no news that Buhari’s ‘security agencies’ are engaged in ‘mopping up’
of arms and ammunition in areas occupied by the locals or natives of the
Middle Belt like Benue and others, thereby disarming them and making
them helpless and unable to defend themselves whenever killer Fulani
jihadists strike. Time shall tell whether Buhari’s ‘tactic’ would work
perfectly and make it possible for Fulani Islamic jihadists to take
over ancestral lands belonging to Nigerians in the Middle Belt or
    otherwise.

For me however, with strong determination and armed
resolve from the local tribes of Middle Belt to defend their lives and
land from further annexation and occupation by Fulani Jihadists, the
stage is set for bloody armed conflict in the Middle Belt, capable of
spilling into other parts of Nigeria and finally rocking the artificial
and unjust union created by Lord Lugard and his British employers and
pay masters in January 1914, for their selfish imperialistic and
economic interests devoid of anything good, noble or edifying for human
beings in the geographical space and contraption called Nigeria!

The Sultan should not and cannot threaten anyone. While it is not good for any person or group to kill another, killings have been going on of innocent people and funny enough, one has not heard the Sultan got angry because of it. The Fulanis are more guilty of killing innocent people all across the country while Buhari’s pro- Fulani government has several times threatened some ethnic groups in Nigeria even at the risk of provoking a civil war. Now, if the Sultan is unhappy that Fulanis are being killed today by those they killed yesterday, he should get the Buhari administration to work hard and in a neutral way on the security of Nigerians. Threats can no longer work and no one in Nigeria can be intimidated any more no matter how Buhari works hard to deny other ethnic groups their rights.
