Violence erupts in Taraba community, three feared killed

Fresh communal clash has broken out in Gembu, Nguroje and other parts of Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The violence is suspected to be between the Kakas and Fulani ethnic groups.

Locals say that the crisis erupted Sunday morning after some youth took to the streets destroying property and smashing vehicles.

“As I am talking to you, violence has erupted, they are attacking us, and some were killed,” a resident said asking to remain anonymous for security reasons.

The resident said he saw three corpses. PREMIUM TIMES has not been able to independently verify the casualty.

Efforts to reach the police spokesperson in the state, David Misal, have been unsuccessful as he did not pick or return calls.

However, a security source in the area confirmed the violence.

“As I am talking to you, curfew has been imposed following this crisis that ensued between the Kakas and Fulani.

“The casualty is yet to be ascertained,” the source said.

Since Saturday, there has been uneasy calm in and around Nguroje town, as security personnel of the State Security Service moved in to arrest some suspects.

The people arrested are said to be suspects known to have been engineering unrest the area.

Nguroje is the hometown to many prominent politicians including former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Babangida Nguroje; former Deputy Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Bashir Abba; and a serving senator, Abubakar Yusuf.

Allah wubade. Since Imam Mohamed come to power his Fulani tribesmen have run amok. Since the heads of security services all all their tribesmen and women nobody can stop them. If a member of another tribe makes this kind of trouble Mohamed Buhari and his tribesmen would clamp the person into jail for at least 5 donkey years.

…including Vampare who killed over 200 people ? Is he also Fulani ? The beauty about collective hate on Fulani ethnic is “force” attached to that hate which is making most of them that were deceived to Christians taking revert position. You show them deceptive love, and now open hate all over majority Christians lands. Good !

I have witnessed and acknowledged many Fulanis convicted and jailed while many dead in the process of their arrest.

Fulanis, acting out a script written years before now, but being systematically implemented. God will not allow this to succeed.

The elements of falsehood in this report is is so scorching that one can smell a very clear case of conspiracy to becloud the truth with falsehood. To say that the feud is between ” Kakas and Fulani ethnic groups” is not only false, but malicious and mischievous. Even if you want to play the dirty tribal card, which I hate to play, anyway, the Kakas always find alignment with the Fulanis on such occasions. This report is dirtily doctored in order to divert attention from the real issues. And, I am surprised that Premium Times has given a platform for the display of this wantonness and arrogance. In fact, the ethnic card is here irrelevant, as some people in government have lost relevance and have so resorted to using ignorant locals to try relaunching themselves, albeit falsely.

Jameel Muhammed; your life itself is full of falsehood, because you are not ready to accept the truth that fulani people are not ready to stay in peace. Plateau, Kaduna, Benue, Nassarawa, Enugu are all case study.

Is it not very unfortunate that the desert sand in the skull arewa youths irresponsibly ignored giving quit notice to Fulani and their herdsmen who are going about killing and murdering Nigerians in their homes, farms and communities, but went out of their way out of envy to purpoted to give quit notice to ibos who have no record of attacking or killing anybody anywhere.
Those arewa youths are indeed driven by envy, jealousy, greed and malice. Shame on them.
