Ali Ndume removed as Senate Majority Leader

The All Progressives Congress members of the Senate have removed Ali Ndume as their leader.

The development was conveyed by Senate President Bukola Saraki who read a letter he claimed was sent to him by the caucus.

The caucus elected to replace Mr. Ndume with Ahmed Lawan, the letter read by Mr. Saraki said.

Addressing journalists after the Senate’s plenary, Mr. Ndume said the decision of the caucus to remove him as leader shocked him.

He said he was oblivious of what led to the decision or where the meeting was held to remove him.

Mr. Ndume’s predicament might be connected with the rejection by the Senate of Ibrahim Magu as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Mr. Ndume had claimed the Senate did not reject the official, prompting a counter reaction by Senate spokesperson, Aliyu Abdullahi.

It appears Mr. Ndume, who hails from Borno State, like Mr. Magu, is being punished for disagreeing with the Senate over the way the EFCC acting chairman’s nomination was handled by the upper legislative chamber.

Following the decision of the APC caucus to effect leadership change, Mr. Saraki might announce Mr. Lawan as the new Senate Leader at the next sitting of the lawmakers.

The bells toll for Bukola Saraki

is good for Senator Ahmed Lawan who has one more bridge to cross before
taking the office of Senate President. Without a doubt Bukola Saraki will be
forced out this year, as he’s in his last days of parole. His conviction for
fraudulent declaration of assets at the ongoing trial at the Code of Conduct
Tribunal will most likely be his death-knell, although it’s not the only way to
remove him from office like a protruding cancer on the body polity.

Good comment from one of the sympathizers of a double edge knives in APC. The double edge knives group are APC during the day and AD during the night.

My brother forget story because the Sanctuary City inhabitants are now fully behind Saraki. Until he case against Saraki is dismissed by the CCT, 2017 will not be pass into law.

It was by the grace of Saraki that the new ML was appointed. He hold his allegiance to Saraki than to Mr Ostrich.

Finally, Sen. Ndume’s faith may be faith accompli for Ibrahim Magu, his kingsman he’s been fighting for in the Senate… Interesting times are upon us, this may be the era of sudden-death sackings after Mr. Obazee rude awakening today… LoL!

Buhari power and relevance is being decimated gradually by the Saraki criminal gang. Nigerians don’t be surprise, NOT IF BUT WHEN the Senate (Sanctuary City) resolve to move impeachment proceeding against Mr. Ostrich.

A President that cannot stand and defend his suporters will have no troop to rally for his defense when it starts raining.

    • Burbank

And if Buhari dismissed and shutdown the NASS, you will cry “dictator!”

  • Boateng

Is this not the same man who was reported to have direct links with Boko Haram Islamic terrorist group? How did he become a member of parliament? Nigeria is really a funny country. This can never happen in Ghana for a man with verifiable evidence of communication with terrorists to be in parliament talk less of being a Majority Leader.

  • Burbank

Waiting for the CCT to sack Saraki this year.
