President Muhammadu Buhari will travel to London for 10 days to seek medical attention and take a rest, his verified Twitter handle announced on Sunday.

The decision of the president to seek medication for his ear infection confirms PREMIUM TIMES story published on Saturday.

The president’s verified Twitter handle, @NGRPresident, tweeted on Sunday, “During the holiday, the President will see an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for a persistent ear infection.”

The post added, “The President was examined by his personal physician and an E.N.T Specialist in Abuja and was treated.

“Both Nigerian doctors recommended further evaluation purely as a precaution.”

PREMIUM TIMES had on Saturday informed Nigerians of the president’s illness, a report his media adviser, Femi Adesina, described as figment of the reporter’s imagination.

According to a popular American healthcare provider, Mayo Clinic, “Meniere’s disease is a disorder of the inner ear that causes episodes in which you feel as if you’re spinning (vertigo), and you have fluctuating hearing loss with a progressive, ultimately permanent loss of hearing, ringing in the ear (tinnitus), and sometimes a feeling of fullness or pressure in your ear. In most cases, Meniere’s disease affects only one ear.”

Mayo Clinic, which is the world’s largest non-profit medical provider, further stated that the “disease can occur at any age, but it usually starts between the ages of 20 and 50. It’s considered a chronic condition, but various treatments can help relieve symptoms and minimize the long-term impact on your life.

Get well soon, Mr. President…
Shortly after the announcement, prayers and consolation began to pour in for Mr. Buhari.

Commenting on PREMIUM TIMES’ Facebook page, ‪Yusuf Annabi‬ said, “Wishing you quick and speedy recovery. Get well soon sir as I know President Muhammadu Buhari is like any other person. He is sick and that does not mean the end of his life. Enemies of the president should stop wailing.”

Yusuf Tsakan said, “I’m not a fan of Buhari, but as a good Christian, my Bible order me to pray for my leader and so I’m praying for our dear President Buhari for quick recovery. It shall be well with you PMB, it shall be well with our dear Country Nigeria, and may God give you wisdom to get us out of this hardship. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!”
