Scores of people were feared killed Monday when two female suicide bombers attacked a busy motor park in Madagali town of Adamawa State.

A witness, Danladi Buba, said the two female suicide bombers detonated bombs at a mini market near a motor park around 9am, killing many people.

“About 30 people were killed with 16 others injured,” Mr. Buba said.

When contacted, the Brigade Commander of 28 Task Force Brigade, Mubi, Victor Ezugwu, confirmed the incident, saying the casualty figure was yet to be established.

“Two female suicide bombers struck at a garage in Madagali and detonated their devices, and we lost some beloved country men,” Mr. Ezugwu, a brigadier-general, said.

He said the injured had been taken to hospital while the military had cordoned off the area.

The brigade commander said the situation had been brought under control.

The attack followed a series of gun and bomb attacks, between Sunday and Monday, by suspected Boko Haram militants on Maiduguri, the capital of neighbouring Borno State.

Another hijab wearing bombers again. The terrorists have discovered that the northern Nigeria Muslims are eternally naive about their women wearing the veil. You can count how many strikes are carried out this year alone by women. This is possible because the have a dress to cover explosives. Professor I O should now cover his head in shame for being an advocate of weapon of mass destruction. The fact is not all Muslims are terrorists but all terrorist group derived their inspiration from Islam meaning all terrorists are Muslims. Muslims must rise up to take exceptional and extraordinary steps to stop these ‘Muslims’. By the where are the e-demons and rats called wahala, I hate sycophant, Maria, tunjis, Rommel, Kay soyemi etc. I guess they are on sabbatical.

Buhari’s greatest gaffe is his pronouncement that Bokoharam would be decimated before end of December. I think Bokoharam is striking to prove Buhari wrong. I can remember vividly that General Gowon warned Buhari on such ill-informed pronouncements. Where is the change APC promised their gullible followers? May God help His children.

Boko Haram has today falsified all the ‘claims of victory’ President Muhammadu Buhari made
on December 24th that Boko Haram is too defeated to launch an attack outside Borno state.
Both President Buhari and Alhaji Lai Muhammed are again falsified by this attack on Adamawa.
They’d both said Boko Haram has been so defeated it can only place improvised explosive
device by the roadside. But that’s not what’s going on now. What’s been reported here is an
extended assault by Boko Haram outside Borno state, which Buhari had said is impossible.
In military terms, that’s not a defeated militia by any means. Now, Buhari has to explain this.

They both said Boko Haram has been so defeated it can only place improvised explosive
device by the roadside. But that’s not what’s going on now. What’s been reported here is a
coordinated fighting unit of Boko Haram infantry driving in a military convoy into Maiduguri –
precisely what President Buhari said on Dec 24th has been rendered impossible. Boko Haram
militiamen not only drove into the city they dug in for pitched infantry battle with Nigerian army.
In military terms, that’s not a defeated militia by any means, especially given that Maiduguri is
the Nigerian army’s command and control centre in the fight against Boko Haram, according to
President Buhari’s deployments of army formations in June. Now, Buhari has to explain this.

        “Boko Haram has reverted to using improvised explosive devices (IEDs);
indoctrinating young guys, they have now been reduced to that. But articulated
conventional attacks on centres of communication and populations, they are no
longer capable of doing that effectively. Boko Haram has been reduced to fighting
with improvised explosive devices (IED) and remains a force only in its heartland
of Borno State. So, I think technically, we have won the war because people are
going back into their neighborhoods. Boko Haram as an organised fighting force,
I assure you that we have dealt with them.”

media to the hotbed of the insurgency, that is, Maiduguri, Kondugua, Kaoure and
Bama. Today, I can report to you that the entire 70 plus kilometres stretch
from Maiduguri to Bama and all the way to Banki which leads to Cameroun and the
Central African Republic are in the hands of our gallant troops. They have so
degraded the capacity of Boko Haram that the terrorists can no longer hold on

Appears you’re being mischievous. What’s the figure if you know and what context are we talking about? We’ve just lost precious lives and you’re being blatantly ignorant because of your blindfolded Buharimania. Shame.

          • Burbank

The US figures for victims killed by terrorists are still rising eg San Bernandino, California last month.

          • bernarddoro

This betrays your understanding of the issues -the recent California attack had no link with the Bush declaration you have persistently raised; it has a hallmark of ISIL. The Government hastily announced that they’ve meet the self-imposed dateline and this is resulting in additional casualties – well over 50 lives lost since this announcement. This is unfortunate and unwarranted. You should have the decency to acknowledge
this lapse while encouraging the government to live up to expectations.

          • Burbank

In other words, even 12 years after Bush has declared “Mission Accomplished” against terror, Americans were still being killed.

    • e_orpheus

It’s called a target, time plan, schedule, whatever you may refer to it as. Like any project, you don’t just prosecute a war and leave it without time, budget or outcome defined. You may meet the primary objectives within the stipulated time, while secondary objectives take longer. Without setting those time targets the army may not have covered as much ground as they have so far. There is still quite some left to be done and they are full aware, but to call the President’s utterances, or that of the information minister very recently, a gaffe is ignoring what has been accomplished thus far. The guns had gun largely silent and possibly given the security forces a false sense of reprieve, but this renewed effort though sadly accompanied with loss of life may give them additional impetus and focus on where to direct intelligence and other efforts.

Bro, our Imam timed the war very well. Since he took oback power from the incompetent Southerners the war has been going according to plan. He promised us to silence Boko Haram by the end of December and he has done as he said; our Minister of Announcement told us the same thing. Whoever reported this news is a mischief maker, nobody was killed in Madinatul Islam and Adamawa Provinces. They are falsifying the news to discredit our Imam. What they heard was the explosion of weapons our gallant troops were testing in the vicinity of Madinatul Islam and Adamawa Provinces. Even if Buhari is feeding Sharks, Whales and Buffaloes in Aso Rock, N1.75billion is too much for one man, when millions of Nigerians are finding it difficult to Feed even once a day.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan was almost roasted for budgeting N1billion in 2011 and reducing it even to N717.3m in 2013, N542m in 2014 and N530million in 2015, but Nigerians are silent on these reckless squandering by Dr Buhari

The current spike in Boko-haram attacks which has claimed the lives of scores of Nigerians was well predictable. The dead-line issued by President Buhari was not supposed to be a public event,it was a propaganda ploy which is proving very costly in lives of civilians. The Boko-haram are trying to prove that they are not defeated and it has come with the loss of civilian lives.

The military intelligence was taken unawares about the frontal attack on maiduguri the current army HQ yesterday, one is forced to wonder if they are in the SE searching for unarmed and harmless Biafran agitators to shoot in cold blood or somewhere in Zaria searching for Shiite Mosques with unarmed women and children to obliterate.

“Today, I can report that the war against Boko Haram is largely won.
