Why I conceded defeat to Buhari – Jonathan

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has defended his decision to concede defeat to Muhammadu Buhari in the March 28 election, saying he was concerned about allowing his personal ambition scuttle a democratic system he helped nurtured, with the likely consequence of a “collective tragedy”.

Mr. Jonathan said Thursday that he needed to check his ambition, as the consequences of not doing so may have been dire not only for Nigeria, but Africa.

The president made the remarks during separate meetings with the new ambassadors of France, Senegal and Ethiopia. He was responding to commendations for his decision to promptly accept defeat after it became clear Mr. Buhari had won the polls.

“Democracy has to be nurtured to grow. Strong democratic institutions are the backbone and future of our democracy. They must be protected and nurtured. As for me, as a matter of principle, it is always the nation first,” Mr. Jonathan said.

“You need to have a nation before you can have an ambition. It should always be the nation first. You don’t have to scuttle national progress for personal ambition.

“Since I assumed duty, I have been involved in quelling political crisis in some African countries and I know what they passed through and what some are still going through. If you scuttle a system for personal ambition, it becomes a collective tragedy,’’ President Jonathan declared.

Mr. Jonathan urged world leaders and international institutions to give their fullest possible support to the incoming administration of Buhari.

He also called on all Nigerians to do their utmost best to help the incoming president succeed in leading the country to greater heights of accomplishment.

The president appealed for patience, understanding and cooperation, which, he said, Mr. Buhari will need to move the country forward to greater, peace, security and progress.

Speaking with the new French ambassador, Denis Guaer, President Jonathan urged France to extend the support and assistance it gave to his administration to Mr. Buhari’s government.

“President Francois Hollande was our guest in Nigeria during the celebration of Nigeria’s centenary. He has been very supportive of the country in the fight against terrorism. I expect that the same warmth and goodwill will be extended to the incoming government. I expect that France will continue to work with the new administration, especially on issues of terrorism.

“The United Nations has been supportive as well. Our troops, supported by regional forces, have done very well in fighting the terrorists in recent times. What we need now is support to help our people get back their lives,’’ he said.

The ambassadors commended President Jonathan for setting a record of humility, patriotism and courage in safeguarding the democratic process in Nigeria and Africa.

“Nigeria is not only an economic power in the world today, but also a great democratic example. And it is all by your effort, Mr. President. The last elections and your response was truly a great achievement and you will always be remembered for it,” the French ambassador told the President.

Mr. Guaer, the new Ambassador of Senegal, Baboucar Sambe, and the new Ambassador of Ethiopia, Samia Zekaria Gutu, who were at the Presidential Villa to present their letters of credence to President Jonathan, also assured him that they will do their best to strengthen relations between Nigeria and their countries during their tenure.

THOSE WHO ARE PARADING BUHARI AS PRESIDENT ELECT WILL BE DISAPPOINTED IN THE END………… NIGERIANS WILL NEVER ACCEPT AN ILLEGAL AND ILLEGITIMATE PRESIDENT WHOSE PLACEMENT ON THE BALLOT VIOLATED THE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION AND THE ELECTORAL 2010 AS AMENDED

It is no longer hidden that Muhammadu Buhari provided false information in his completed and tendered INEC forms falsely claiming that he has WASC ………. truth is that Buhari does not have WASC and was not even qualified to join the Nigerian Army Officer Corp.

For the avoidance of doubt ……. the issue is not whether Buhari has the academic qualifications constitutionally prescribed for Candidates contesting for the Office of President. Notwithstanding, it is instructive to note that going by the documents Buhari tendered to INEC, there is no evidence that he has the academic qualifications constitutionally prescribed for Candidates contesting for the Office of President.

Furthermore, the issue is not whether Buhari committed perjury or not ……… the issue is that Buhari provided false
information in his duly completed and tendered prescribed INEC forms … the perjury issue only serves as concrete proof that Buhari provided false information in his duly completed and tendered prescribed INEC forms contrary to the provisions of the Electoral Act …. the consequences are very, very clear and obvious …….. DISQUALIFICATION ….. PERIOD

Section 31 subsection 5 & 6 of the Electoral 2010 as amended is very clear and states inter alia:

    S31.5:

Any person who has reasonable grounds to believe that any information given by a candidate in the affidavit or any document submitted by that Candidate is false may file a suit at the Federal High Court, High Court of a State of FCT against such a person seeking a declaration that the information contained in the affidavit is false.

    RESTATED FOR CLARITY: S31.5:

Any person who has reasonable grounds to believe that any information given by a candidate in ……………… any document submitted by that Candidate is false may file a suit at the Federal High Court, High Court of a State of FCT against such a person seeking a declaration that the information contained in the affidavit is false.

    S31.6:
If the Court determines that any of the information contained in the affidavit or any document submitted by that candidate is false, the Court shall issue an Order disqualifying the Candidate from contesting the election.

    RESTATED FOR CLARITY: S31.6:

If the Court determines that any of the information contained in ……….. any document submitted by that candidate is false, the Court shall issue an Order disqualifying the Candidate from contesting the election.

It is not in doubt that Mohammed or Muhammadu Buhari submitted a document to INEC that contained false information viz. falsely claiming that he has WASC …… which obviously he does not have.

What then is the basis of the delusion that Buhari is the President Elect ?

    NB:

It is instructive to note that Section 31 of the Electoral Act also makes reference to “the prescribed forms” which indeed stipulated that Buhari attach copies of his academic qualifications claims to his completed “prescribed forms”.

The essence of this provision was to ensure that crooks like Buhari and Tinubu who are veteran certificate forgers are not given an escape route .

But Buhari, being a hardened crook who has been cheating on the certificate issue since 1961 when he joined the Army Officer Corps without WASC proceeded to commit perjury by claiming strangely that all his certificates are with a none existent Secretary to the Military Board.

Jonathan remains our courageous comrade with whom we are pleased. He confronted an evil cult of the North & West of Nigeria who have had their way since 1966. He kept Nigeria one and fought a war against terrorists who were supervised by his political opponent whose supporters were always willing to personally offer their daughters to the terrorists to prime for a suicide bombing mission.

The Niger Delta now knows who its enemies are. It is good the elections were conducted. The South & East have an opportunity to unite strongly like never before. With 12.5m votes for Jonathan, the South & East voters more than 3 times outnumber the entire population of Norway, Sierra Leone etc etc
Buhari will fail. Sure he will. I was young, but now I am old, but I have never seen and illiterate and uneducated succeed in governance. Never! Such a clueless & certificateless fellow is a disaster for a Nigeria with sharp minds.

The Hausas feed your sorry selves with their quality vegetables, and the Fulanis make the meat you eat possible. The north central makes your yam, flour, and millets possible. Your lands in the SS are already bio-hazards due to environmental disaster after disaster. All your fishes are dead or sick. You cannot drink the oil. Yet, you come here making noise like a raped ape? Again, be quiet!

JUDGE FOR YOURSELVES ………………… SAI BUHARI IS GOING NOWHERE

    Question:
Does Buhari need to rely on the Nigerian Army for his WASC when he can easily ask Cambridge Assessment, UK to provide him with one ?

    Answer:
No; Buhari does not need to rely on the Nigerian Army to provide him with an authenticated copy of his WASC. It was not the Nigerian Army that conducted the WASC exams in 1961 ….. it was Cambridge Assessment, UK. The Nigerian Army does not provide custodian services for certificates. It is strange and extremely ridiculous for Buhari to claim that his certificates are with a none existent Secretary to the Military Board.

    Question:
What stops Buhari from asking Cambridge Assessment, UK to provide him with a copy of his WASC since November 2014 when this scandal broke ?

    Answer:
Buhari knows that he does not have WASC

    Question:
What makes Buhari hire over 20 SANS to defend him on the WASC scandal with a legal expenses bill of of over N25Billion Naira and counting when Buhari knows that it would cost him virtually nothing to ask Cambridge Assessment, UK to publicly declare his WASC result.

    Answer:
Buhari knows that he does not have WASC

    FACT:
Going by the documents Buhari tendered to INEC, there is no evidence that he has the academic qualifications constitutionally prescribed for Candidates contesting for the Office of President.

    FACT:
Buhari provided false information in his duly completed and tendered prescribed INEC forms by falsely claiming that he has WASC.

    FACT:
In an attempt to cover up the false information that he provided, Buhari proceeded to commit perjury by strangely claiming that all his certificates are with a none existent Secretary to the Military Board …… a position not known to the Nigerian Constitution and not known to the Nigerian Army Ordinance.

SAI BUHARI IS NIGERIA’S BIGGEST DISGRACE

Yesterday, I read verbatim report of an interview Buhari granted to Leadership Newspapers, Nigeria. It was indeed a concrete proof that Buhari is Nigeria’s biggest disgrace since 1960.

It is very clear from Buhari’s answer to the question asked, that Buhari has no brain and that he is severely suffering from acute memory loss

For example: In answer to the question ………. “In composing your cabinet, what are those criteria you will use in selecting those that will work with you?”

    Buhari’s Answer:

It is a difficult time for Nigerians as you all know. I have said it in the past that Nigeria has never realised the amount of revenue it received in the last 16 years. A barrel of crude oil rose to about $140 and it has now crashed to about $50. During these 16 years, we know some big companies that employed a lot of Nigerians and give them training
facilities like the Nigeria Airways, Nigeria Shipping Line.

Even the Nigeria Railways is managing to be on paper with some refurbished engines moving from Lagos to Ibadan and a few other places. If you go their stations all over the country, you will realise that they are in a terrible shape. The important thing in a country with a huge population of youths with more than 60 per cent of them under the age of 30 is employment. You need these institutions to give jobs and trainings to Nigerians. It is very disappointing that the PDP-led
government virtually failed to use those resources to make sure that the economy continues to grow in a sustainable way.

I think the worst thing is the lack of accountability and the terrible budgetary system. Imagine that over 90 per cent of Nigerian budget is on recurrent. How can you sustain development in a developing country like Nigeria with only about 10 per cent of your income? Things just have to change. There must be more money available for infrastructure, for investment in getting the factories back, employment and getting goods and services for the population. I think the sins of
PDP will be coming out for several years to come.

WHAT A SHAME ……… SAI BUHARI

    • Moe

What does “I READ VERBATIM report” mean?
      how else can you read?

  • Danbaba

So you didn’t concede because you lost the election?

  • dd

What some people don’t know is that if GEJ had refused to concede, the war that would have consume this nation would last forever. It doesn’t matter if GEJ goes to ICC – that is not a new thing as many other former presidents are there. Nigeria would have divided. People like Asari and co were ready for it. People that like trouble too in the north were ready. Emotions were very high on both side. If such emotions collide from opposite side we have fire. The top army officer plus Dasuki were ready to support GEJ while many junior officer were ready to support GMB. Once the military is divided and war continue, to ever have one Nigeria back would have been totally impossible. At the end USA would be proven right for their evil prediction. Whoever that think GEJ did nothing meaningful for conceding is deceiving himself. He will only go to ICC but Nigeria will be forever divided the more. Ibo will declare their country and u will see Ijaw man fighting Urobo man. Ekiti man will be fighting Ondo man, Fulani will use the opportunity to attack more people in Benue, Kaduna and Jos and war will so varied that you don’t know who is who.

Still the winner of 2015 is GEJ. If we have had someone like Ameachi who will never concede for pride, just think of what would have happened by now.

    • Danbaba

Nobody is denying what you are saying. What people like me are wondering is “What do people that loose election do?” concede, No?

What could be inferred from your post and GEJ’s statement in the news article,is that he won but decided to concede in the interest of peace!

The problem I have found with Nigeria is that people want to be congratulated for doing what is their responsibility and duty in the first place.

Unless he is suggesting that GMB and APC rigged the election! maybe that is what is being suggested

      • BayernMunich

Of course him no fit tell you say John Kerry call am warn am seriously na.

        • dd

Whoever than warned, lets thank God. I still have the feeling that GEJ rush to call Buhari before the like of Aneni, Dasuki and co know. If they have known, they will say never.

          • BayernMunich

Okay. Dat na reasonable talk. Agreed

      • dd

What you are saying is true. Orugbebe already started that there was rigging in Kano and children were allowed to vote. That Jega was partisan. With that little blow of fire and GEJ say never, I will go to tribunal. Then APC form parallel government what is the next? I am not saying GEJ should stay put. But looking at Africa president precedence, please let thank God. Assume Amaechi or Babaginda were GEJ?

    • BayernMunich

Very wrong. It would have been a very bloody encounter but the foreign forces who backed Buhari had contingency plans in place. The divided army would have weighed more heavily in favor of the Niger Delta militants. Jonathan give militants sufficient weapon na. Obj say he even trained dem abroad. But all the analyses wey me I read show say na neighboring countries dem for use crush Jonathan and him boys and Nigeria would have been reinstated completely. That was the plan. Jonathan for go jail. Niger Delta for perish under draconian subjugation.

      • dd

Please thank God for what happened. It was a miracle. You think all these crushing of Niger Delta would not meet with a single resistance. You think no blood civilian would have be shared? You think only GEJ will suffer? That is childish. If you think what you are saying is just easy, go and see what tiny tribe in Yemen is doing to entire country now. Even GCC and all the arab nations intervening have not been able to defeat them. Alot of civilian have died. Just lets thank God bro

Muhammadu Buhari is a crook and a fraud

I have been patient since January. I wanted to hear all sides to this WASC issue.
After 5 months i now feel confident to make a judgment call that Buhari is a fraud.
No institution or person ever saw Muhammadu Buhari’s Wasc/Cambridge certificate.
Buhari is the only one earth who never made photocopy of his only academic certificate.
Worse, Buhari went to four overseas military courses, but never submitted his WASC at any.
That is the profile of a crook and a fraud. His conduct does not fit any honest man’s behaviour.

Buhari submitted false credentials to the Electoral Commission (INEC), by reciting falsely

    NIGERIANS: WHAT A RETARDED PEOPLE!!

Nigeria is quite an exceptional country. I just saw the proof of it.
Of all the people in the world Nigerians are the only ones who –
despite pretending to being educated by twanging intonation –
betray the purpose of schooling by queuing up for 5 hours in
hot sun to cast 15.4 million votes for Muhammadu Buhari who
was flagged in all newspapers since December 2014 as having
submitted false WAEC claim in violation of Section 137 [1] of the
1999 Constitution. I have been musing over this fact. I am not sure
if it so much psychiatric as it is idiotic. With purpose of education
in Nigeria betrayed at the polling booth on 28th March, Nigerians
may have given credibility to Abubakar Shekahu’s Boko Haram’s
campaign that the end result of education in Nigeria is sinful. No
European with high school education will ever do what Professors,
doctors, lawyers, accountants, bankers etc did by voting for Buhari.

    • Your comment actually reveals you as the most uneducated on this forum.

Ol’ boy Let us tell ourselves the truth and shame the devil. We were not wise in Nigeria
to go and suffer ourselves in the sun to go and vote for somebody who may be in-eligible.

        • If you are not wise you are not wise. I’m wise and if you are not wise, that’s your burden. Did PDP or any court prove the certificate published is forged? Keep falling for the lies of PDP.

            @disqus_lzpVDXc1cM:disqus

Let’s learn the right lesson. The media alerted Nigerians to the risk.
Buhari was potentially ineligible when we went to vote for him at our
own risk. It was not a sensible thing to do. Out of the 15.4million of
us who voted for him, there may be up to 20,000 lawyers who should
even have known better. It was a disgrace to their profession, i believe.

Despite his failing health and political reputation in Nigeria as the

national leader of All Progressive Congress, APC, former Lagos State

Governor, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, is still being monitored, questioned and

interrogated frequently upon arrival in the United States over drug crimes

    committed in that country.

Tinubu was indicted for Cocaine, Herroine and Gun crimes and forfeited

    $460,000.00 in the early 1990’s.

Cocaine, Heroine, Guns and other paraphernalia used in running the drug

business were all recovered from the Tinubu-led drug cartel in Chicago in

    the early 1993.

“He is still a suspect and the case against him is not yet closed. It can

be reopened anytime even though he has forfeited proceeds from the crime,”

a U.S Security source said. Sources said, “Even if today Tinubu decides to visit the United States

    again, he would be questioned.

”His crime is not one that

can be swept under the carpet just like that.

President Barack Obama’s decision to provide undeclared backing to the All Progressives Congress (“APC”) and General Buhari, violated a long-time American convention of non-interference in the elections of other sovereign nations.

The series of patronizing actions, sponsored by the White House, culminated in a joint statement on March 30th 2015 by the American Secretary of State Mr. John Kerry and British Foreign Secretary Mr. Philip Hammond, alleging that the election results “may be subject to deliberate political interference”.

This broadside was released when the vote collation was still ongoing, thereby casting undue aspersion not only on the entire electoral process and the almost thirty million voters who participated in it, but indeed the nation itself.

This was the second unsolicited and unwarranted diatribe by the American and British pair, the first being the denigrating joint missive authored by the same duo on March 21st 2015, precisely seven days prior to the election.

The said election has already occurred, but the repercussions from the historic event shall continue to generate reactions for many days, weeks, months, years and perhaps for all time

    • You are truly dumb. Are really able to feed yourself?

As if it was not president Jonathan talking? As if it was a brand new Jonathan? As if it is one best side of president Jonathan we’ve never seen? What happened to all the blunders he had been making through out his reign? What happened to all those scandals? As if it has all evaporated together with the lost of the elections. Maybe president Jonathan has lost elections but president Jonathan has definitely found himself

    • Debo

That is why you should ask yourself whether those blunders were really made or made up. A man would hardly change overnight; meaning to say that you should consider the possibility that there was something wrong with your perception of him. I have heard some people say on this forum that GEJ conceded defeat because of international pressure. But if you check history you will realise that most of those leaders who sat tight even had greater pressures and still went ahead to pursue their selfish ambition. It is thus not hard for me to believe that your minds have been poisoned against GEJ, it doesn’t matter what he did or would have done. Either way, and given this situation, it is always best that a leader steps aside. However, the reality is that it appears Nigerians have chosen a great ruler to replace a great leader; whether or not this is best for business, time will tell.

  • Moe

Again, What other choice did President Jonathan have other than to concede defeat?

He ran for re-election and Nigerians voted him out!

It is not as if his people did not try, Nigerians simply did not want him.

    They tried “Bring Back Goodluck”, Nigerians said they did not want that type of Goodluck;
They tried “Brink Back Jonathan”, Nigerians said ‘Maybe bring him back to Otuoke!
They tried “I Vow to do more”, Nigerians said ‘go do more in your village!’
Finally, they tried “Forward Nigeria” and Nigerians replied, ‘not in that direction!’

So what is he beating his chest for?
He was clearly defeated…I don’t need him to preach to me why he conceded defeat.
It is pop and plain….HE LOST!

All his talk about “if you scuttle a system for personal ambition it becomes a collected tragedy” is just smoke and dust.
To clarify things, take Aso Rock villa for example. It is his official residence where everyone there works directly for him eg. his cooks, drivers, gardeners, security details etc.
If we were to base the Presidential election results on just the 2 electoral wards in his own official house, he still would have lost the election.

So where does ‘collective tragedy’ come in to play? People say he averted ‘loss of life’. Whose loss of life did he avert?
…when people in your own house dislike you enough to vote you out of office? People that cook your food….protect you…Launder your clothes…..Whose life did you save?

There is nothing magnanimous about Jonathan accepting that he was fairly and squarely defeated! It was in his own interest to do as such. He knew fully well that anything else would prove very unhealthy to his own welfare.
The mere fact that he lost Aso Rock Villa votes, is enough to open anybody’s eyes.

Had it been that he was swindled or rigged out of office….and he conceded anyways, then by all means praise him all you want, Immortalize him in poems and books, infact, I will be the first to start praising him.

….But, he lost the election despite the ‘certificate’ issue; despite the ‘homosexual’ issue; despite the ‘postponement for security’ issue; and all the other rubbish issues his people threw at Buhari. HE LOST…. even a blind man can see the handwriting on the wall!
So please spare me the ‘noise’ of congratulating a grown man for taking the path less hazardous to his well being.

LOOSINING IN VILLA HAPPENED IN 2011 AND JONATHAN WON THE ELECTION……………. I SEE HIM A GREAT NONE TRIBAL NIGERIA. NORTH LIKE NORTH LEADERS THAT FILLED VILLA NORTHERNERS AND JONATHAN REFUSED TO FOLLOW SAME PATERN BY FILLING VILLA WITH SOUTH SOUTH………….. I GUESS YOUR ADVICE IS ANY PRESIDENTSHOULD FILL VILLA WITH HIS PEOPLE…………. TELL ME IS EKITI, SE TRIBAL

      • Uncle Gaga (Bruce Wayne)

In a way, you are correct…we just need a minor adjustment.

Any and every President of Nigeria should fill his or her CABINET with
his or her own people! (by this I mean like-minded folks).
I am talking about people that are in Government to serve the masses, not
crooks that think politics is the easiest route to amassing great
        wealth.
What good would it do to win the Presidency and have PDP controlling the house of assembly? What good would it do if you, as an anti corruption president, hire the most corrupt people in the nation to run your ministries?
Remember that Jonathan himself (during the campaigns) asked for folks to vote for PDP across the board (people he can work with)

Look at America for an example and gauge my meanings.

Getting back to your comment about filling the villa with his own people, this is the norm (rather than the exception). No Nigerian presidents has ever allowed anyone he is uncomfortable with to remain in the state house. They always bring their own support staff to the ..or…they rely on the advice of their predecessors on which staff members to keep!

        • me 2

ok now can tell us the statistic of north origins at the villa compared to SS & SE………

      • Uncle Gaga (Bruce Wayne)

firstly, “NORTH LEADERS THAT FILLED VILLA NORTHERNERS” is utter rubbish!
I am not even talking grammatically! Why is it rubbish?
        It has never happened!
The president can bring whatever chef he wants into the Villa, the rest of the staff are pick from currently employed civil servants (including additional chefs)
Individuals are screened…undesirable elements are shipped off to various Government guest houses and the only members of staff that remain are the ones the incoming President is comfortable with.

…..you know what? forget everything I said.
I should have noticed your capacity to pull things out of your rectum. I apologize.
        my bad!
You are right, Jonathan is “A GREAT NONE TRIBAL NIGERIA”, and all our leaders form the north “FILLED VILLA NORTHERNERS”

I pray you have a great day. May God bless you
can you please do me a favor? I will forever remain in your debt if you can grant me this one thing.
Please, NEVER reply to any posts again! Not even this one.
        Thank you sir

The BEST response to all these infantile glorification. It is like praising a cul-de-sac cornered armed robber who surrendered to heavily armed military forces! Shame on all those hailing this self-centered deceitful character.

The same way Obj waited until it was obvious his third term agenda was dead on arrival only to start sermonizing he never wanted third term.

The only time this man could have garnered something close to “praises” was if he had chosen not to go for third term! 2yrs as vice-president plus 6yrs as president is equal to 8yrs in Aso Rock. A dream that was nowhere near his widest imagination. He could have just walked away to enjoy his loot. No matter how he and his hirelings tried to beatify him, he lost election woefully.

      He postponed election he was to lose heavily;

He doled out billions of the Country’s wealth bribing the clergy, traditional rulers, militants, student cultists, the media, fetish priests etc, yet the people overwhelmingly rejected him.

Nigeria survived civil war, survived niger-delta militancy, surviving boko-haram, is it Jonathan-electroral-defeat induced trouble that we will not survive?

On three previous occasions 2003,2007 and 2011 Buhari contested for the presidency of NIGERIA and was rejected by the southern electorates including the YORUBAS in the SW. Most noteworthy was the number of votes he got in 2003 among the Yorubas when he contested against Obasanjo. So why did the Yorubas reject Buhari in 2003 when the had the every opportunity to end corruption in 2003 in Nigeria? If they knew as they know now that Buhari had all the qualities they now ascribe to him– why then did they reject him for a corruption personified Obasanjo? That is because the USA was not yet ready for the Fulanis——–The only became, ready when Buhari swore b4 the Obama administration to call his boys in Boko haram to order——-that is why u see APC praising the USA to the heavens—-daily———-U hear them say Amaerica has promised to bring back the chibok girls–

Do you think Jonathan had them killed to make Buhari look guilty of a crime? Buhari was cleared of any wrongdoing. Reubin Abati could have set it up:

“The claimant and defendants have agreed and resolved that the retraction and apology shall take the following form and contents: ‘Re: For the attention of General Buhari’- On April 22, 2011, The Guardian Newspaper published an article on Page 51 titled ‘For the attention of General Buhari’ where certain allegations were made against General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), GCFR, concerning the 2011 election and General Buhari’s alleged role in the violence emanating from the elections.”

        In Azazi’s words:

“PDP got it wrong from the beginning, from the on-set by saying Mr A can rule, Mr A cannot rule, Mr B can rule, Mr B cannot rule, according to PDP’s convention, rules and regulation and not according to the constitution {applause} and that created the climate for what has manifest itself, this way. I believe that there is some element of politicization. Is it possible that somebody was thinking that only Mr. A could win, and if he did not win, there will be problems in this society. Let’s examine all these issues to see whether the level of violence in the North East just escalated because Boko Haram suddenly became better trained, better equipped and better funded, and in any case how did they get it all done…”

Jonathan took the short road of peace for our nation and set a standard for Africa and the world to emulate Nigerians will forever remember you, peace and security is not cheap as being demonstrated by GEJ but in the eyes of fools it seems cheap

PDP lost the elections not Jonathan Nigerians won the eelections Not APC nor Buhari ultimate winner is Democracy that is firmly build in our country our voices and votes count

Nigeria willl remain political parties will come and go but we shall remain an indivisble entity despite our challenges. We as a nation will always pray for a good leaders with examples in action and character

Ultimately I personally salute Mr President to making sure that our voices were heared and he listened and take the path of peace despite the short comings of elections no system is perfect irrespective of glaring underage voters which is enough to cancel some parts of Norther Nigeria voting process instead Jonathan ignored affirming his personal ambition does not worth the blood of any Nigerian

For America Buhari would never have become president——-Never—–we are talking about the respect for the rule of law—-free and fair election–not the use of 5 yr old kids–to rig election–conscience –is an open wound–only the truth will heal it-

——– (We know all the black and white of award of contracts in most of the countries in Africa and even overseas. What happened was not the business of Buhari to send the people to jail. I remember, Mallam Ishaku Rabiu in Kano was jailed too. Well, we wouldn’t call it jail; they were incarcerated unnecessarily without term, indefinitely. Some of them died from the complications, arising from such an action. Some, who had money, just paid to free themselves, not because the law said so, they paid because they didn’t want to remain there. Hypertension, stroke, diabetes, blood pressure, so many things killed most of those who remained there. …not once in those elections that Buhari lost did INEC use PVC to authenticate voters!
we all saw PDP agents thumb printing ballot papers like crazy …and we all remember Ekitigate as prime example of how PDP wins elections.

Any Nigerian that did not vote for APC is a bastard!

  • Uncle Gaga

Whether it is is God almighty thru Nigerians or, Janjaweed, Ganjaweed, Boko Haram, the Blue man group, or Bassy & company that helped Buhari to win,…. the country is grateful!

Some people here have been naming foreign entities that are supposedly responsible for President Jonathan s thrashing in the election.

Please forward me that list so I can send a personal ‘Thank You’ note to these organizations.

Along those lines of thought, I believe the nation needs to amend the constitution so that these kind of things do not happen again!

Jonathan may be a simpleton, but he is an okay and likeable person.!

It is his caustic wife that we can not wait to rid ourselves off ! His wife and his supporters actually.

While we will miss her capacity to ‘clownishly’ entertain the public with her untamed and unbounded nincompoopery, the summary remark still remains ‘good riddance’!

Nigerians would have been glad to just let President Jonathan sit in the office for 4 or even 8 more years (B*S) just as long as he understands that his only duty is to smile and wave!

No making of policies!!!! Just smile and wave your hand!

…..he must be used to it by now….that is exactly what his people made him, a president that knows nothing about what his people are doing! Not even his own wife!!!

How else can you explain why a sitting presidents external affairs office will fumble whether or not he had a phone conversation with a fellow African leader?

WHat about funds found with Diezani Alison-Madueke?

I have said this before, President Jonathan is a good guy, but his wife (and his people) turned him into Pinocchio a long while back , and Pinocchio has no business near Aso Rock Villa!

  • burning spear

    • Omotolaaraujo

You conceded defeat because you lost even with voter intimidation and rigging in Rivers and Akwa Ibom state. There were few options left besides conceding and either would have had you in jail or dead. You did what losers are supposed to do…concede defeat.
We appreciate you being man about it but that’s basically it.
Please do not call this president a great man because that’s disrespectful to the tens of thousands of Nigerians that perished under his watch at the hands of book haram and others whose lives have never been the same since the start of the insurgency. Let’s take this for what it really is: he was rejected at the polls, he conceded defeat as was expected.
It’s only in Nigeria where moral attitude is so low that people expect to be given award for doing what they’re supposed to do. If there were evidence of massive rigging by APC, then I would justify the president not conceding defeat (he would have the rights to refuse the outcome)…but he was the rigger and still lost. With the aforementioned facts…why are we still discussing this?.

even if elections are conducted in the SS with buhari as the presiding officer the APES in APC will lose–period—what does buhari want in the south south–are we fulanis–have we not assisted them enough–for over 45 yrs

    PRESIDENT JONATHAN’S BLUNDER

Conceding an election defeat is mere courtesy; losing in all the states
of the middle-belt; in the south west (exept Ekiti), and in the north-east
(except Gombe), and losing in all of the north-west is outrage plus.
Jonathan cannot just make light of his mess simply by saying he conceded
defeat. The whole purpose of running election is NOT for concession of
defeat -not at all – but to be competitive in all wards on the basis of clearly
convincing campaign on the merits. This is where Jonathan gets it wrong.
He did not run a competitive race or was he at all convincing on the merits.

ANSWERED TRUTHFULLY ON 22ND APRIL THE ELECTION ITSELF WAS A

THE FRAUDULENT INTERNATIONAL OBSERVERS IN RIVERS STATE:

The leader of African Centre for Leadership Strategies and Development, Mr Humphrey Bekaren, is calling for the cancellation of the Rivers elections. He (with his organization) was referred to as an international observer in many Nigerian dailies.

To set the records straight, Africa Centre for Leadership Strategies Development is a Nigerian NGO. It was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on 17th January, 2010 with registration number CAC/IT/No 36563.

The Executive Director of the African Centre for Leadership Strategies and Development is Dr. Otive Ogbuzor, an APC stalwart in Delta State who contested the APC guber primaries in Delta State.

How did ACLSD (an APC member owned Nigerian NGO) become an international observer for INEC IN RIVERS STATE?

Those who insult elders/people in authority wil also be insulted a hundred fold! I wonder if you could make this statement when Buhari was Military head of state. In any case, the last time I checked even GMB the President-elect has not insulted GEJ in any fora. Please learn to comment on issues rather than insulting people. Don’t copy Lai Mohamed!
