Boko Haram assures Adamawa residents of better security under its reign

Boko Haram has asked the displaced residents of communities it took over in Adamawa state to return to their homes.

The terrorist group assured the residents of better security in the “Islamic Caliphate than in Nigerian territories”.

A resident of Uba town, Salisu Baba, said normal activities have started picking up in the captured territories as Boko Haram enjoined residents to go about their normal activities and open their shops for business.

Mr. Baba said the insurgents have assured them of security and freedom.

He said unlike in other parts of the state where curfew has been imposed and people prevented from riding motorcycles, the insurgents have assured residents of free movement at anytime of the day.

“(The terrorists) are threatening that anyone who fails to open their shop will have it broken into,” he said.

The Deputy Governor of Borno state, Zanna Mustapha, had said in Yola on Monday that going by the ease with which Boko Haram was capturing territories in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, the three North-Eastern states would soon be history.

“If the Federal Government does not add extra effort, in the next two to three months, the three North-Eastern states will no longer be in existence,” he said. “The Federal Government has tried its best but their best is not enough because rather than going after the insurgents, it is the insurgents that are going after us. It is a big crime that the criminals are better equipped than the military and they are just few kilometres from the Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states capitals.”

He said the continuous occupation of more towns by Boko Haram had confirmed the Borno state governor’s statement that the terrorists possessed superior weapons.

He disclosed that 13 local governments in Borno, three in Adamawa and others in Yobe were currently under the control of Boko Haram. He said, going by intelligence reports, if the Federal Government did not step up its security measures the fall of the three states would only be a matter of days or weeks.

Mr. Mustapha expressed his doubts on the purported ceasefire agreement between the Federal Government and the terrorists.

The Borno deputy governor spoke in Yola shortly before a former Vice President and Presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, lamented, in Abuja, the ease with which towns in the North-East were falling into the hands of the insurgents.

Atiku wondered why the Nigerian government was unable to overwhelm Boko Haram despite the claim by the administration that an increase in the country’s security budget would help relevant agencies and the military tackle the insurgency.

“The situation in which we find ourselves today is grave,” the former vice president said. “Much of Borno, and the north of Adamawa and Yobe states is already at the mercy of the terrorists. It started a few months ago with Bama, which is nearly 400 kilometres from Yola, capital of Adamawa State.

“The next major town to be taken by terrorists was Gwoza, where a terrorist caliphate flag has long been hoisted.

Smaller towns near Gwoza such as Pulka and Limankra are equally not free. Next was Madagali. The town is still being occupied. Then fell Gulak. Next was Michika, then Bazza. Next was the twin town of Uba which is half Adamawa and half Bornu. Its neighboring town of Lassa was also overrun. Uba was the latest town captured before the terrorists trampled on Mubi. People from these troubled areas are now pouring into Yola for safety.

Shame to the present government for allowing the terrorist to shame the whole country because of their inability to curb the menace and idiotic act of the deadly sect. We live in a country where the lazy and incompetent man governs the country, we need a change if we are goin to enjoy this nation. We need APC

  • Otile

Today in Saudi Arabia gunmen killed five in eastern Shia region. Shame to President Jonathan, he was unable to prevent the attack. We need APC

    • Onike24

The only answer to your etrolls, members of Reno’s e army is this, may God creator of heaven and earth, eternally Sovereign God permit your life and that of your children and their children to be run the way Jonathan is running Nigeria, may he protect you from your enemies seen and unseen, known unknown, the way Jonathan is protecting the baby new born today in North eastern Nigeria. May God allow your generations to progress as Jonathan wishes him to progress. When you come here and spew divisive things, remember that babies are being born into this carnage, what is their sin?

      • Otile

Your prayer has not effect on anybody. Pray for yourself, don’t call the name of God in vain, or to call for vengeance for your selfish settling of scores. I say to you, back to the sender.

        • Onike24

But Jonathan is Good, isn’t that what you say? So why would you not want what you claim to be fantastic? This prayer exposes the hypocrisy and the wickedness of this administration, if you sincerely believe from the bottom of your Heart that Jonathan is doing his best, why not say amen?

          • Otile

That’s why I say back to sender. Let your prayer come back to you, it’s all yours.

      • growthengine

May your life also be tormented by the likes of boko Haram sponsors that are scheming to take power by killing innocent Nigerians, betraying the nation and handing territory to enemies only to turn around and shout incompetence. May you live to see the Nigeria of Boko Harams dreams.

        • Onike24

why would my life be tormented by Bh sponsors, if I condemn them? perhaps your prayers should be directed towards the BH sponsors, may their lives be tormented as they torment the lives of every man woman and child, as they torment the lives of all christians and muslims they encounter. may the funds they spend on tormenting innocent people be a source of unhappiness for them and their progeny. i don’t care who they are, muslim, or christian or atheist. as for your usual tune that BH are being sponsored y some northerners; i implore the President expose them and let us know who they are. who did they negotiate with for the cease fire that didn’t last a day? i Remember the words of the late Gen Azazi, an Ijaw man, who said”BH is PDP and PDP is BH” if he were alive today, he would be called an APC man!

          • growthengine

I do not need to say that Boko Haram is sponsored by northerners, Boko Haram is north, Shekau is Kanuri.

          • Onike24

how do you know that for a fact? this BH thing has become some thing else! for as long as we keep accusing each other without proof, the only beneficiary is BH, do you honestly think that some one os financing BH? why did the australian negotiator accuse ihejerika? and why hasn’t he sued him for defamation? what about the words of Gen Azazi an IJAW MAN was he also on the APC pay roll? something is not right, what about the cease fire? who did they negotiate with? is Shekau an abiku? that is dead today, alive and well tomorrow?

          • growthengine

You see Shekau in his videos, his name his language, his location, where he feels most comfortable among his people, can shekau come to Akwa ibom and do what he is doing. Say the truth, forget about sponsorship, look at the leader of BH and you see everything, he speaks both Hausa and Kanuri, he makes his demands very clear. What else do you need to know.

          • Onike24

Let me get you right, because he is Kanuri, he must be supported by Fellow Kanuri’s? Have you ever heard of Al qeada in the islamic Magreb? Are they also Kanuri?

  • amazing2012

Who to blame ? Jonathan ! Is deliberate !! Surely government with established institution can not guarantee security to any body instead they are using the security for politics, Ekiti election over 20,000 solders were deployed and recently securities attached to speaker of the house of refresentative were withdrawn. No one to blame but Jonny who failed to act decisively and still believe in coming back perhaps to cede the remaining part of the country. When Igbos want to go, troops were sent to stop them, thousand innocent souls were lost but now the government have excuses and
fabricated lies to tell people for not going to full scale of war. Surely Jonny is working on the script of USA for dividing Nigeria by 2015. But how ? Where ? And who remained unanswered. If we can not blame Biafra for ceding then should we blame BH? Just our focus will be on the constituted authority that allow them to misbehave. Our unborn children will live not to forget us for destroying their future.

    • Otile

Jonathan can’t even prevent a couple of gunmen who killed five people in eastern Shia region of Saudi Arabia. Well 2015 is around, we must replace him with a strong Muslim, Ijaw and Igbo Christians cannot be our president.

  • Chris1408

Shekau is capturing territories and providing security in the captured territory. Nigerian Government with all the generals and trillion naira defense budget cannot secure her territories and provide security to her citizens. Our president is calling late night meetings about reelection and party politics.

    • chidibangbang

A murderous terrorist is providing security? You couldn’t have typed that with a straight face

      • Chris1408

How else can I type the shameful state of our nation when terrorists are providing security and government?

Nigeria is a Republic, and that means Nigeria’s Constitution on freedom of religion,
speech and movement – including the constitutional guarantee of the equality

of all persons to the same rights and privileges – shall override all religious laws.

If anyone believes that facing the east when praying for himself grants him higher privilege
than anyone else; to occupy Nigeria’s public office, he must suffer penalties for his delusion.
Islam gives nobody in Nigeria any greater status, right, liberty or privilege than anyone else
wearing singlet with a cane and following a masquerade he worships as ancestral idol.

Islam must be confined within the limits of reason alone in Nigeria. That’s the message Christians
must now forcefully drive into the heads of these fanatical Muslims just straying – without personal merits
of either honesty or knowledge into Nigeria’s public affairs and now with deadly consequences.

      • djay

What has religion got to do with bad leadership?

        • Otile

As a strong moslem you aught to know that you cannot separate religion from leadership. Imam Buhari understands that Islam is a way of life, and he must act accordingly when he knocks off Jonathan in 2015 by the power of Beelzebub his god. Please don’t insult me for my innocent comment. I know this is your wish too.

  • Truthometer

Is this the term of ceasefire Dumbo negotiated with Shekau? When is Shekau sending his ambassador to Abuja for accreditation? Oh, I forgot, Ambassador Ali Modu Sheriff of Bokoharamistan is already dinning and winning with Dumbo and his party, PDP.

    • Otile

You forgot to mention that Jonathan failed to prevent Muslims from killing 5 people in Saudi today. We must replace him with a strong Muslim in the person of Imam Buhari under APC.

    Impeach Jonathan now.

    • Otile

Impeach him now, replace him with Imam Buhari, a strong Muslim leader. Igbo and Ijaw Christians cannot be our president. Imagine today in Saudi Arabia gunmen killed five people in eastern Shia region. Shame
to President Jonathan, he was unable to prevent the attack. We need APC

      • Wise Head

Yes, we need the APC to ask their Muslim brothers in Boko Haram to lay down their arms, because their ‘their’ power has returned to where it rightly belongs, to those born-to-rule. And then, they would announce that they have ended the insurgency and then resume their wanton squandering of the oil wealth from the Niger Delta and the South East. By the way, when BH was called the military wing of the APC, the party threatened to go to court, why did it suddenly develop cold feet? Could the allegation be true?

    • Ebola or Gej

Not only impeachment, he deserve to be arrested for Genocide

      • Otile

See how he did nothing when Muslims attacked Iraq and displaced 750,000 Christians. We need a strong Muslim leader like Imam Buhari who can prevent Muslim attacks all over the world including our dear country Nigeria.

        • Ebola or Gej

I wonder why some people still think Christian are peace makers !!!
did you forget how many were being killed in vietnam by USA armies?
did you forget the 2 millions Iraqians who were being killed by USA just for oil ?
did you forget the videos on YouTube showing US soldiers raping and killing Iraquian women ?
did you forget that USA is the ally and the first protector of “israel” ??
Did you forget that USA is leading and encouraging big media attack against islam and muslims?

unfortunately they Make you think that muslims are terrorist using their
media and you forget all their huge crimes against humanity !

  • Sharia_Haram

They are sharia states anyway. I only care for non-Muslims in that area. That is what you get from adopting Sharia law.

Death to Jihadist and those who brought Sharia law to Northern Nigeria

  • paco

Jonathan has rendered Nigeria impotent. The man can be likened to a fly in your balls; you hit the fly, you hurt your balls, you leave the fly, it irritates your balls!

    • Otile

That’s too bad. He couldn’t even prevent a few Muslim gunmen from killing 5 people in Saudi this morning. He knows quite well that Saudi Arabia is the godfather of Northern Nigeria.

    • Wise Head

Keep bombing yourselves in order to blame Jonathan. The army is the hands of Northerners. Stop your bloody-thirsty brothers or remain there and continue to blame Jonathan

  • abdul

how many of you noise makers have a voter’s card? occupying reasonable space with stupendously lousy intellectually deficient comments

    • Otile

As a good Muslim voter, you got for yourself 10 voter cards, one for your very self, 9 for your cows. All your 10 cards count. That’s why Nigeria is what it is today.

  • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

The northern Sharia states asked for this anyway, why adopt an ancient legal system and embolden terrorists. The terrorists will be flushed out but Islamic terrorism may not end unless Sharia is scrapped and these renegade states revert to our common law !!
It is ridiculous that one constitution is interpreted by two legal systems,it is dysfunctional and unworkable,it defies common sense so Nigeria should move in the direction of a confederacy. A confederal system will clearly define the semi-autonomy of the regions and allow the country to move forward. The present confusion is bound to create more chaos in future because Muslim radicals will never stop agitating for the full implementation of Sharia ie Amputations, stoning to death, repugnant apostasy laws, violent Jihad, forced marriages,under-aged marriages, stigmatization of the female child and gender discrimination etc.

  • Otile

Since 1967 when Goodluck Jonathan invaded Eastern Nigeria to keep Nigeria one our dear country has gone to the dogs. Since that time it has been one mistake after another. When Hajiya Turai and the cabal prevented Vice President Obasanjo from taking office to give our hardworking President Yar’Adua time to recover, Jonathan sat on his butt and did nothing. Jonathan made our then President Obasonjo sleep with his own daughter-in-law. What a clueless president!

Today in Saudi Arabia gunmen killed five in eastern Shia region, Jonathan was unable to prevent the massacre. Come 2015 we must replace him with Imam Buhari who is a good Muslim. Imam will wipe out Boko Haram in our dear country.

  • Guguru

Since Jonathan has succeeded in dividing Nigeria more than any other President in Nigeria’s history, which i suspect may hurt Nigeria in the long run, in ways that are yet unknown or understood, may be it is time to actually ask people in the north if they want to be part of either Nigeria or Boko Haram State. It also opens the door to consider that the success of Boko Haram State may also portend the possibility of a Biafra State as well. There are risks and rewards to what Jonathan is doing, which I fear is fairly deliberate and orchestrated. Jonathan has made it clear through his actions that he does not believe in one Nigeria or even in Nigeria at all. Just as he has failed to show any realistic signs of empathy towards the north, there is evidence of similar behavior from him towards his own people in the south-south. Ask him how the NDDC misappropriated over N79 billion in incomplete projects that was supposed to build infrastructure for south-south people. Ask him why the east-west road, a vitally important road in the south-south, remains an eye sore. So, the north should take solace in knowing that Jonathan is just as cruel to his own south-south people as he has been to the north.

    • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Your analogy is warped !! There is no way you can trace Islamic Jihad to Jonathan or indeed his administration. Those northern politicians who deployed Islam as a political weapon right from the Sarduana to the present generation of northern politicians are directly responsible.
Sharia was the most devisive policy after the unwritten marginalisation policy meted out on the SE/SS for a period of more than 40 years after the civil war.

      • Guguru

Really? Sharia divided SE/SS? Did Ribena and Treetop orange juice cause Nigerian babies to choke to death as well?

        • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Sharia is devisive and carves out a different sense of identity for the sharia north in what is supposed to be a secular nation.
An eaxample….If an adult should have sexual intercourse with a 13 year old under any circumstance any where in southern Nigeria it would amount to statutory rape but in the sharia north this is quite accepted. The same happens to a Christian man who cannot drink his beer or a Christian woman who cannot wear a pair of trousers in public in those Sharia states without harassment.
WHY IT IT THAT I CANNOT BUY OR SELL PORK MEAT IN THE SHARIA NORTH,IS IT NOT AN INFRINGEMENT ON MY FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHTS AS A NIGERIAN CITIZEN ? BEFORE THE INTRODUCTION OF SHARIA WE COULD AT LEAST LIVE WITHOUT THESE OBSTACLES . I prefer an exchange based on logic and common sense not your sentimental tantrum !

          • Guguru

And your right guarantees you not to visit the north as well or did you forget that right too? If an environment does not suit your needs, then why do you not exercise the right to leave and move to where the environment suits your fancy? Do you think complaining over a situation that you do have control over will make your strange arguments more credible? Your rights cannot trump their own rights. So, i ask you again, “Did Ribena and Treetop orange juice cause Nigerian babies to choke to death as well?”

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

You are running away from an intellectual exchange, the fact remains that Sharia was and is still devisive because it excludes socially and religiously. You have forgotten that those Nigerians from the south who have invested enormous amounts of their funds and those who live and work there in those Sharia states are Nigerians……..your answer is that they should move to other areas.that is the typical draconian mentality which causes division . They asked for Sharia and Boko-haram are asking for Sharia …let them deal with it !!

          • Guguru

I think you have failed to make an intellectually convincing argument which is why I keep asking you “Did Ribena and Treetop orange juice cause Nigerian babies to choke to death as well?” You talk of divisiveness and yet you failed to define what you really mean by using that term. You talk of Nigerians and yet fail to discuss the limits of the rights of Nigerians. If you are not willing to discuss the rights and responsibilities of Nigerians then why are you wasting our time with this discussion? I ask you, is it not your right and responsibility to move away from where you are not wanted? If you are being burned by fire, do you stay put? Sorry, I will not engage you in an argument where you wish to spread hatred and vile for no reason whatsoever. Can you come up with a more thrilling argument besides one laced with hatred and vile?

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Every Nigerian has a constitutional right to live, work, worship in all parts of the country but Sharia has made living in the north where beer bottles are publicly broken and the Hisbah Islamic police breathing on the shoulders of Christians a nightmare.
I am happy that the public following our discussion will see how shallow and pointless you have been !

          • Guguru

All you do is name calling which helps us evaluate your degree of intelligence. Secondly, the right to work anywhere includes being able to move to where one finds conducive for one’s existence. All places have not always been conducive for all Nigerians whether with Sharia or not. Unfortunately, you have made very little effort to think much deeper along these lines. Adamawa has many mountain regions that most Nigerians will refuse to live in. Life is hard in those regions. Are mountains supposed to be equal to Sharia as well, since the constitution guarantees the right to live anywhere while those mountains impede one’s ability to live in that region? Do you stay put and live ini a mountain region that makes your life hard? Why are you not spewing your vitriol on the mountains of Adamawa State as you have done on Sharia?

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

So the Islamic Sharia states are not “conducive” to Christians and as such they should move according to you……..what then do you consider more devisive ?

          • Guguru

Lack of being conducive does not in any way portend divisiveness. These are two separate terms. The active use of ethnic and religious registers and activities by politicians is more divisive than a people trying to practice what their religion seems to support. Sharia does not divide even though it may not be conducive for Christians. However, the active use of Sharia as a discriminatory tool is what is divisive. Nigeria has been practicing a mild form of Sharia for over 40 years and no one said a word about it. Hardly were we divided then.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

The oil and gas revenue is the only factor still keeping the Sharia north in Nigeria…If the OIL AND GAS was in the north Nigeria would have ceased to exist in it’s present form….I rest my case !!

          • Guguru

Those are simply speculations. In fact, the whole of your argument rests on speculation. An analogy of your argument is the idea that money is evil. Some people hold this fallacy as true just as some people believe that Sharia is evil. What these people fail to comprehend is that the person using money or Sharia, the way the money or Sharia is used or implemented, are what makes money or Sharia evil. In the same vein, how you use water or any natural resource can also make water or that resource appear evil too. How you use a tool is what determines how the outcomes of that tool is perceived. So, I Implore you to be a little more discerning in your desire to blacklist tools or items which you have done very little to investigate or understand.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Amputations, be-heading,public stoning to death, public flogging, child marriages cum pedophile, forced conversions, slavery, forced marriages, stigmatization of the girl child, gender discrimination against women, violent Jihadism, just to mention a few. Are these practices evil? answer me !!

          • Guguru

Everything you have mentioned and even worse have been practiced in one form or the other by the Nigerian government under the secularist regimes you so claim to be better than Sharia. The Nigerian government is a known and habitual offender of human rights abuses where people are tortured, raped, killed, and maimed under government control without any due process. And the Sharia practiced in Nigeria has not publicly stoned anyone to death, child marriages are even practiced in the Christian South with pastors raping young girls, gender discrimination is rife, etc. I continue to ask that you free yourself of vile and hatred. You will find more peace if you do.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Your justification of evil does not hold water.the Nigerian government may have human rights issues but it is not systemic. SHARIA IS LAW,we are talking about laws. The practice of Sharia is dictated in Islamic holy books and it’s interpretation is not difficult or complicated . ALL THE ABOVE PRACTICES ARE CONTAINED THEREIN !!
The Christians eliminated such practices in cannon law in the middle ages but Islam retained barbaric laws written down by Arab desert nomads a thousand years ago……that is where the problem lies.

          • Guguru

Is corruption not systemic in Nigeria? Has corruption not allowed abuses of human rights? What cannon law? Are pastors in Nigeria not routinely raping their female congregations? Were Catholic priests not raping little boys? Sharia is regional and not systemic. You are confusing your argument. If all the above practices are contained therein, then why spew your vitriol on Sharia and not on Nigeria? Do you see who you have nailed yourself to the cross of your own making?

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Once more you get too sentimental, corruption is present,it has been around and we all know how IBB institutionalised it and shared oil blocks to northern oligarchs,we all know how the likes of Tinubu and Atiku became over-night billionaires after official government positions, those are the ones to make sure you stop !

          • Guguru

Thanks for the speculations which you seem to provide consistently. I asked you a question, is corruption systemic? Is Sharia systemic? You made the assertion and I am here to see if you understand what you are saying. And because of your expertise in speculations, I also asked you, “”Did Ribena and Treetop orange juice cause Nigerian babies to choke to death as well?”

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

You should go get a dictionary and understand the word “speculation”,there is nothing speculative about my above comment.

          • Guguru

Then provide support for your speculative assertions from a reputable source.

          • OkoAbeni

With due respect to your person and opinion about GEJ and his Government, I disagree with you on this Sharia issue. Nigeria is a secular state, meaning all religion including Obatala and other traditional religion are equal and should and could be practiced any where Nigerians reside in this country! What would be your reaction and opinion if Osun State comes up with a law tomorrow making Osun worshiping a State religion in Osun State. Or How would you feel if Lagos and Enugu States are to be governed by Canon Laws. Its a mockery of faith for someone to be sharing VAT money deducted on alcohol and cigarate from Lagos to run a Sharia State in the North. This is part of the injustice wrecking Nigeria. A country where infants are discriminated against from day1. How would you describe a situation where a Child from Yobe is expected to score 2 (TWO) marks enter a Federal Government College whereas a child from Ondo/Imo State with 125 marks is considered failed and not qualify. I can continue, but unfortunately the man from Otuoke with a Phd and who grew up not wearing shoes that we expected to come in and halt some of this madness, came in to aggravate matters. He promoted corruption to the level of religion with disciples all over Nigeria, allow insecurity to take over our land in the name of indecision that as at today 10 out of the 774 local Governments he inherited are in the hands of terrorists. Enough of this religion and ethnicity diversion, lets face the koko—- the hunger in our land.

          • Guguru

            Oko Abeni,

It is about the rights of states and not about the feelings and opinions you are trying to project. Sharia is not just about Islam or Sharia. It is about the nature of the political system holding Nigeria together. Nigeria’s political system is completely misaligned with the reality in Nigeria and its economic system. States have rights which the current unitary system of government in Nigeria is not wiling to recognize. A strong federal system is making Nigeria ungovernable. Allow states to decide how they choose to organize themselves which invariably means states get to choose how much of their resources they get to keep and how much to decide to give the federal government. Sharia is part of that equation just in case you did not realize the implications of your comments. Niger Deltans cannot demand they keep 90 % of the crude oil produced in their region and yet demand that the north not practice their Sharia. Both problems are directly linked to the flawed federal system of government in Nigeria. You need to see Nigeria’s problems well beyond the mundane discussions being thrown out there.

          • OkoAbeni

My brother you are wrong! If the Federal Government allowed Sharia to run in the North then its immoral and illogical of the FGN to deny the request of the Oil Producing regions to control and manage their resources. If fiscal federalism is to operate in Nigeria it should not be in the breach. Had it been i am from any of the SS or SE states I will move for the adoption of CANON Laws and see how you will react. You can be saying all these because you are from the SW where no one cares about religion leaning, wondered what you have done if you wake up one day and discovered a state especially your State is now a CANON State or ORUNMILA managed state.

          • Guguru

            Ok. Believe whatever you want.

          • OkoAbeni

The President of Nigeria and Commander In Chief of Nigeria Armed forces when Sharia got introduced happens to be one of us, a Christian Southerner and he was there for eight years quarreling with imaginary enemies. Enough of tribal and religious sentiments. Let the next President come from inside River Niger and speak Swahili, it does not matter so far the economy runs well and people are not hungry!.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

If you do not know where you come from you will probably not know where you are going to.
Let’s not allow those who destroyed our economy for more than 40 years and marginalised huge parts of our population into power ,Those who feel Nigeria is their private property can never rule well or better !

          • OkoAbeni

Is a Christian supposed to be drinking beer? Which type of Christian is that?

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Yes Christianity does not forbid it.

    • Maria

Jonathan is an igbo man.His loyalty is with South East.

      • George

        As Buhari for SHARIA

      • Guguru

Jonathan is not an Igbo man. Who made him an Igbo man?

      • Otile

We know you hate thinking he is Igbo. He is not Igbo, then change your mind and love him.

      • Concerned One

Apparently Maria, u shouldnt be wasting your time with a bunch of narrow-minded folks. There r more constructive things to be said and issues abound begging for solution. Instead, sentiments and irrelevant ethnic talks keep coming to fore from the clueless. Only the dumb and Brain-dead will want to believe that the Otuoke clown is up to any good.

  • Wise Head

If Buhari wins the presidency, he should appoint Bola Tinubu the Finance Minister/Head of EFCC; he should make Atiku the Governor of Central Bank; Rotimi Amaechi should be his Director of Due Process and Head of Budgeting, while former Gov Sylva of Bayelsa would be his Accountant-General and Imam Shakau as the Minster of Defense. That way, he would really run a corrupt-free regime, and with Tinubu as EFCC Chairman, corruption will be wiped out of Nigeria within few days. Up GMB – the people’s General

    • Otile

Buhari should also appoint Imam Shakau the Minster of Defense that way Shekau will rid the world of Christians and bad Muslims.

      • Maria

It will do you a lot of good to tell Jonathan to disintegrate the country now into moslem/christian countries. Or he doesnt listen to you?

        • George

We are not evil like your baboons and monkeys godfather

          • Maria

See an orangutan calling someone monkey… lol.

          • Otile

How do you know he is an orangutan, did you see him in person?

        • Otile

He is not the right person to do it. If anybody from SE SS tries Odua people will assassinate him. Separation will start from the North and Imam Shekau is working on it.

    • Maria

No, he will appoint Jonathan as the head of EFCC in the interest of national unity.

      • Otile

With Imam Shekau as the Defense Minister your Igbo Christians enemies will be put in check. Right on, Maria, we hear you.

        • Maria

I am a christian and a pentecostal christian…I am not driven by religion… religion is a personal issue. For me integrity and competence are the hallmarks of good governance. Men of no pedigree like Jonathan should be banished from parading themselves as our leaders.

          • Otile

I thought you were a devout moslem. Then as a Christian, be kind, don’t wish evil for our President.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

What about those who deploy Islamic supremacy in the policies of a secular nation? what about those who believe that Christians do not have a right to be in Aso rock ?

          • George

You are a christian liar may the blood of the innocent souls wasted by Buhari agent boko haram bear you witness before God Almight, Amen

          • Maria

I dont have to prove anything to people who want to divide us using religions. I am a bonafide Christian, washed in the blood of the Lamb. However, that does not blind me from seeing that someone of Jonathan caliber is a misfit.

          • emmanuel

See this Fulani man dey deceive himself.

Your comments in the past gave you out. May be na Izala pentecostal you be or sunni!

      • Wise Head

Jonathan is not a member of the APC. Tinubu, the national leader of the “progressives” and APC’s chief visioner is best suited to head the EFCC to cleanse the country of corruption in line with the anti-corruption agenda of the APC. He will challenge Nigerians to embrace integrity by citing his personal example.

        • Maria

It doesnt matter… if you are literate you will understand that I said in the interest of national unity. OBJ did it by appointing Bola Ige who was a member of the opposition to his cabinet. Buari needs expertise of Jonathan in handling corruption, security and economy!!!

          • Wise Head

Why will he appoint GEJ when he has a more experienced and competent godfather Tinubu who can do the work effectively. Moreover, Buhari is too narrow to appreciate the concept of ‘national unity’

          • Maria

Yeah… we can see it in Jonathan’s present administration… with militants and ex-convicts running the country… it shows his pedigree…tell me another thing jooo…. yeye people trying to sell yeye person. Jonathan is not sellable… he is a failure.

          • George

He is failure because your baboon and monkeys father want his position right no vacacy yet

          • Maria

Which position? Without those of us who risked everything and went on the streets to protest against Yaradua wife and the cabals… the coward was hiding ….all he could do during Yaradua time was hide in aguda house reading dailies. Not for those of us in the civil society, the closest Jonathan would have smelt presidency would have been his flat in aguda house in abuja. So to you presidency is now a permanent position? You people just keep ridiculing yourselves.

          • George

            Where is BOLA IGE now.

          • Maria

You will soon join him where he is.

        • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

You just gave a job to the greediest and most corrupt politician to emerge from the SW in recent times,if BAT is your saint then you must be the devil !!

          • Wise Head

Go and look up the meaning of the terms “satire” and “irony” in your dictionary before call any person a devil. Also look at my first post that provoked the exchanges

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

This is no comedy forum !

          • Wise Head

One day, you would learn that irony and satire are two of the finest tools to drive a message home. And those who understood it on the forum have been responding very well. So, you are not missed.

        • Major

So you’ve agreed there is corruption now!

  • Maria

Jonathan has been tried and tested… he is a failure.

    • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

      Was Atiku a success ?
      Was Buhari a success ?
      Was Tinubu a success ?

The truth is that you are daft and blinded with bias….Jonathan is ten times better than these desperadoes, you have not taken any time to check verifiable achievements of this administration instead you dwell on your beer-parlour gossip !!

      • Guguru

Boko Haram now controls parts of Nigeria. Would these be the achievements you were talking about?

      • Chris1408

Billions of dollars spent on power, Nigeria can’t produce 3,000MW of power for more than 170M people. Now that’s an achievement for your Ogogoro president to be proud of.

        • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

What infrastructure did he inherit from OBJ and Yar’adua ? and what was the Mega wattage before he took office.
It is easy for you to type rubbish but the power sector infrastructure is not stuff you build in a day despite that the pace at which this administration is tackling the issue is very promising !

          • D1

He didn’t inherit anything from Obasanjo because he wasn’t the next president. Have you forgotten about Yaradua so quick! The actions taken by Yaradua’s/Jonathan’s government regarding power?
You need to go brush up your history and not argue based on sentiments.

      • D1

The is simple, is he a failure or not? Why deflecting to others? Jona is the one on the hot seat at the moment, so lets concentrate on him except you’ve agreed and concur that he is a failure.
We live in Nigeria, why should we be trying to verify achievements when it should be there for all to see, korokoro. Unbelievable!

      • Maria

Atiku cannot run Nigeria… he is only wasting his time. So, you havent made any point. Talk another thing… morons can no longer run this country…enough is enough.

        • Otile

Is your egbon Ebola Tinubu a moron too?

          • Maria

We are talking of ebola Jonathan…. the moron. Tinubu cannot run. Lets stick to the point.

          • Otile

He can run because he is your brother but Jonathan cannot run because you think he is Igbo.

          • Maria

I have no business with Tinubu… my concern is that moron can no longer run Nigeria… I dont care if our best is igbo or egun… what is important is to have the best run our country not a failure.

          • Otile

I tell you what, Britain will not know it’s Britain until it loses India. Remove Jonathan before his term runs out in 2019 you will see wahala in continent Nigeria.

          • Maria

Nothing will happen… if you are so sure… why are you using all kinds of fraudulent tactics to sell him to us?

          • Fido

You guys (igbos) are very good at cutting of your noses in order to spite your faces, you always forget that we are all in it together and in most cases your at the receiving end. Losers!

  • MushinSpeaks

Is this the best we can get under President Jonathan?

His plot to divide our dear country on religious line and ethnicity line has birth the result of insurgents taking over territories.

He met 774 Local Governments when he assumed the seat of President but few numbers of the local governments are now in control of Boko Haram.

Daily, Boko Haram shows their strength by seizing large territories.

Yet, he wont admit he has failed but meet with his co-conspirators to plan attack against opposition members.

President Jonathan has not in any way shown the political will to tackle insurgency.

And until we all see this as a collective problem and not a North-Eastern thing, we may continue to lose sizeable no of territories to the dreaded sect.

    • Joe

A few additional Local Governments were created by APC Governors! Hahahahahah! I dey laugh o! Seriously, it is all part of the grand design to make the country ungovernable under Goodluck Jonathan, abi?

    • growthengine

Who gets the money allocated to the local govt under Boko Haram, let me guess, Shekau? What does he do with it, buys weapons, and Abuja can’t even buy weapons from South Africa. What a mess

    • growthengine

I just heard Shekau has taken over Ashaka Cement in Gombe

  • Kitunde

What on earth are these military chiefs doing? besides the routine lies and fabrications, what are they doing? They are ceding swathes of Nigeria to a bunch of bandits.Meanwhile, in the Presidency, there is backslapping, completion of nomination forms withdrawal of security to percieved enemies as priority. One thing i know, if we do not find a way to stop corruption, taken to new heights by this goverment the end of Nigeria is nigh.
A quick word for the ethnic champions,we have a saying, when the skies fall, no one head will escape-even the ones hiding in the creeks!

    • tsunami1earthquake

I am beginning to see a conspiracy of silence amongst the relevant stakeholders in the government of Nigeria. I say this because I cannot bring myself into believing that the Nigerian military cannot put Boko Haram out of action in just a matter of two weeks. A film script has been written and, as usual, all the actors are acting out the course of this script. I pity some soldiers of the ‘other ranks’ who might not even know what the top echelon in the military are planning, albeit under strict guidance from their oga at the top. Buhari, who has consistently refused to attend the National Council of States meeting, may be sticking pins on the map of Nigeria to calculate how many states of the federation and voters he would win in 2015. Poor Buhari, you are not a politician, otherwise you should have been attending the meetings of the National Council to see the body movements of its members when Nigerian security is being discussed. But Buhari, the obligatory soldier, would rather want a hearsay story of events there from his colleagues! From the look of things, Jonathan is presently thumbing his nose at Buhari and wondering which Nigeria Buhari is scheming to preside over. Jonathan and his hirelings have a lot up their chest.

      • Kitunde

Bro, before reading your post, i just voiced similar opinion elsewhere, yes, there is some gaameplan. How did we get to this??

  • Dan Fulani

I will rather live under BH and be a peasant farmer than live in Nigeria and be called a parasite.

    • Otile

Gaskiya ne, dan uwarna. Allah ya gafarta Mallam.

    • growthengine

You are not a parasite, but your leaders do not want Nigeria to grow. So many things need to change in the face of the new world order, or else we get what we are experiencing today. Imagine if more Nigerians were employed in state police forces funded by the money a lot of governors today waste under security vote, would the likes of Shekau or Henry Okah have been able to torment us?

      • Onike24

Do you agree that we need change? perhaps we should start the change by being honest. Jonathan cannot deal with BH, it is simple.

        • Otile

Jonathan has also not been able to resettle the Christians fleeing Muslim aggression in Iraq. See how the Muslims are ravaging Mogadishu, yet Jonathan is clueless as how to defend the Somalis. Yesterday Muslims in Lahore Pakistan attacked an Indian border town in the North, till now Jonathan has not arrested any of those Muslims. We must push him out and replace him with Imam Buhari who can rid the world of bad people.

          • Zarto Ali

Whether you like it or not. The dumbo has grossly failed. It is unfortunate.

          • Tonnero

No be Igbo man? The guys are in denial. They have refused to put the civil war behind them and see everything from that lense. As far as they are concerned, when Nigeria is not working, they think it justifies their position to declare secession. They ignore the fact that some of their own governors are the most oppressive and tyrannical to their own people. They ALWAYS back the wrong horse. Maybe one day they will learn.

        • growthengine

Jonathan will go, either 2015 or 2019, i dont really care but there have been some changes that we sought and did not get, why do you think the people who were against this change will give it to us when they get there.

    • Adjutant

Pls @DanFulani do your best to refrain from statements like this. You run the risk of an already heated body of Nigerians thinking BH has the blessing and support of the average muslim northerner. I know how frustrating things look at the moment but you are a Nigerian. Wicked Leaders have been on board since 1960 using tribe and religion to deceive the masses. Don’t allow yourself to be myopic and mentally fatigued to fall for such defeatist sentiment. Keep hope alive for Nigeria. Pray for Her. Indeed tough times are ahead…

    • Musa

Then, stop being a parasite in Nigeria, then. Do something for yourself. Stop relying on Southern oil. Stop killing Christians. Stop burning churches. Like Western Education.

  • The following is from my article “Islam’s Jesus”:

… The moment Islam gains followers in a territory, they must force every
infidel, including fake-Muslims to submit to Allah/Islamic law. At that
point, the Quranic and Hadithic verses that every Muslim must advocate
and follow are of this sort:

Sahih Bukhari 1.2.24 “Allah’s apostle said: I have been ordered to fight against people until they testify
that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah’s apostle …”

“Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him” (Sahih Bukhari 9.57)

“… KILL the idolaters [non-Muslims] wherever you find them, and take them
captive, and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. …” (Q9.5)

Q9.73 “O Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites …”

Q4.89 “They desire that you should disbelieve [Allah] as they do, so that you
might be like them; therefore take not friends from among them until
they flee their homes for Allah, but if they turn back to what is
forbidden, then SEIZE THEM and KILL THEM wherever you find them …”

    • Kunle Smart

Q4:90: “…so if they withdraw from you, and fight not against you, and
offer you peace, then Allah has opened no way for you against them.”

Q2:190 :”fight in the cause of God against THOSE WHO FIGHT YOU, but NOT TO TRANSGRESS limits. God does not love transgressors”

Q2:61 : “if they seek peace, then seek peace”

      Adith,
Abu Dawud: “Beware! whoever is cruel and hard on a non-Muslim minority,
or curtails their rights, or burdens them with more than they can bear,
or takes anything from them against their free will; I will complain
against the person on the day of Judgement”

      SPREAD LOVE AND NOT HATRED

      • In-light of the peaceful verses in the Qur’an, evidenced by the examples you quoted,
        PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS:
“Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him” (Sahih Bukhari 9.57)
        ——————————-

The following is from my article “Islam’s Jesus”:

In Islam, hiding the intention to expand Islamic territory is a virtue. When
Muhammad didn’t have enough soldiers, he agreed to be peaceful with
Mecca (Peace Treaty of Hudaibiya), but after he gained more followers,
he went from Medina to Mecca and conquered Mecca during Ramadan
(a pre-Islamic pagan fasting month in which Meccans won’t usually fight). Following
the example of Muhammad, Muslims (even today) advocate and follow
Quranic and Hadithic verses that speaks of making peace with infidels
when Muslims are the minority in a society. Examples of such verses are:
Q2.256 “Let there be no compulsion in religion …”

The Qur’an and Hadith doesn’t limit the expansion of Ummah al-Islamiyah, the
lands over which Sharia’s Theocracy must be administered; in comparison
to the Torah’s Theocracy over a specified land: Eretz YisraEl.

I encourage you to read the whole article at my website which is the name i’m using here.

    • Major

Luke 19:27 “But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.”

      • You need to quote the whole thing (19:11-28).
Verse 27 is what will happen when the King returns.

    • Mubarak

It is actually the Christian bible that makes the assertion that all conquered people be put do death with out even an option for them to repent: Deuteronomy 20:16-17 declares, “However, in the cities of the nations the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. Completely destroy them…as the LORD your God has commanded you.” Also, 1 Samuel 15:18 says, “Go and completely destroy those wicked people, the Amalekites; make war on them until you have wiped them.
What you have quoted from the Quran and Hadith are just parts of a bigger discussion which has a different context form what you are trying so hard to insinuate. I urge all seeker of truth to go look at those Surahs and there tafsirs in there totality and with an open mind.

      • The things you quoted are not for Christians because true-Christians
DON’T HAVE A LAND with armed forces. Please show us verses from
the New Testament instructing Christians to use PHYSICAL FORCE
        on non-Christians and their lands.

Deuteronomy which you quoted is part of the Torah, while Samuel
which you also quoted is the enforcement of the Torah in The Land of YisraEl.

The Torah is what God gave YisraEl (as Constitution) by which
Judaism’s THEOCRACY must be administered on that Land, and you won’t
find anything in the Torah instructing Jews to CONVERT NON-JEWS TO
JUDAISM, much-less by the sword (as in the Qur’an and Hadith which
doesn’t limit the expansion of Ummah al-Islamiyah, the lands over which
Sharia’s Theocracy must be administered; in comparison to the Torah’s
Theocracy over a specified land: Eretz YisraEl).

Pentecostals and other Christians who believe in killing witches are deluded in
misunderstanding the Torah of Eretz YisraEl to whom the Torah was given
as Constitution by which Judaism’s THEOCRACY must be administered on
        that Land.

Like it Afghanistan, and other places. Nigerians be patient, nothing is forever.

    • Otile

      To your tents O Israel.

      • Tonnero

Now is the time for your MASSOB to move. Dumbo is too weak to do anything to stop you. Or are you people afraid?

  • King Carlos

The most annoying thing is that our outgoing President Jonathan is not even saying anything. Is he not moved that part of his territory has been taken away? I expect Jonathan to have made a national broadcast assuring Nigerians that our army will retake back our lost territories.

It’s so obvious that after 6 years in power, Jonathan has not recovered from the hangover of being a president. Where are Jonathan supporters? You people still think Northern elders are the sponsors of boko haram because they don’t want a south south president abi?

Jonathan is surely going to leave Nigeria worse than he met it.

  • Tonnero

MEND, MASSOB and all those prmanently yearning to leave nigeria, this is your chance. No excuses and no loudmouth threats. Just do what BH has done and carve your own Biafra and Ijawland (note – the rest of the Niger Delta may not go with the Ijaw so go your own way).

    • Otile

As a Yoruba speculator why not mind your own business. What is your business in Biafra and Niger Delta? Are you ashamed to talk about your Oduduwa enclave? Keep your nose off SE SS. Odale
