Nigeria deports 400 illegals in 8 months

Most of the illegal immigrants come from Niger Republic, Ghana and Benin Republic

About 400 illegal immigrants have been deported from Nigeria, in the past eight months.

This was disclosed by the Comptroller of the Niger State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Aminu Abdulkarim, on Friday in Minna.

He said the illegal immigrants were from Niger Republic, Ghana, and Benin Republic.

“We are constrained financially but we are doing our best to tackle the problem of deporting them,” he said.

The comptroller said the movement of the illegal immigrants is seasonal, adding that during the rainy season, they would return home to their farms only to return to Nigeria later.

He added that the Niger Government had been providing logistics support to the command in the deportation of the foreigners
