In a statement, Mr. Kalu said the late ex- CBN governor showed that he was capable of handling the pressures of his office with the sound economic policies put in place during his reign at the CBN between 1977 and 1982.
“Despite the fact that the military was in power then, it was obvious that Chief Vincent stood his grounds in terms of policy formulation and implementation.
He urged Nigerians, especially those overseeing the country’s economy, to imbibe the virtue of honesty as exhibited by Vincent, both in and out of office.
“We have seen in this country a lot of decisions taken, which have not been for the benefit of Nigerians but for the pocket of a few Nigerians, especially those in power.
“It is even more annoying when some appointees give the wrong advice or pander to those in authority just in the bid to keep their jobs,” the former governor said.
He prayed for the repose of the ex- CBN governor’s soul.
