Armed Robbers on Sunday attacked cattle sellers travelling along Siun-Owode-Abeokuta dual highway which links the Lagos-Sagamu-Benin Expressway.

The robbers laid siege on the vehicle conveying the traders from Lagos to Aiyetoro town in Ogun State. They made off with the money the cattle sellers intended to trade with.

The bandits had seized the opportunity of the lapses of the police patrol team situated at Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state, and successfully robbed the traders at gun point.

By the time the police arrived the scene, the bandits had concluded operations. The police however claimed that some of the bandits escaped with bullets wounds after they were chased and shot by police officers

The Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident. According to him,the robbery operation was in conjunction with informants among the traders.
