Within 24 hours, three road accidents killed three people in Abuja.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed the death of three people from three road accidents in Abuja.
The accidents occurred over the weekend within a spate of 24hours.
According to a statement by NEMA, the first incident occurred on Saturday evening along Nyanya express road when a Trailer ran over a Hilux van.
After that, another truck driver lost control of his vehicle and rammed into 12 vehicles. This incident caused the death of one person “while 12 others were seriously injured and admitted in hospital for treatment,” NEMA said.
On Sunday morning, a petrol tanker at Maje town, on the outskirts of Abuja, fell, and exploded. The Head of NEMA, Abuja operations office, Ishaya Chonoko, said two bodies were recovered from the explosion scene and six people who were injured were taken to a hospital for medical attention.
Mr. Chonoko added that two houses were completely razed while 27 shops were burnt from the accident.
