The Federal Executive Council (FEC) will on Wednesday discuss modalities for a proposed tour to inspect projects and programmes executed by the Federal and State governments.

The tour, which is billed to commence soon across the six-geopolitical zones, is tagged “National Good Governance tour.”

The Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, is expected to present a Council memo on the issue during the meeting, which is to be presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Also, the Minister of Water Resources, Sarah Ochekpe, would present a report on the revised estimated total cost of the contract for the construction of Ilesha Dam and the first phase of the water supply scheme in Osun state.

Ms. Ochekpe would also present a report on the revised estimated cost/variation order (2) for the Gurara water transfer project (Lot B), and the construction of Azare-Jere irrigation scheme.

The meeting will also feature discussions on the ratification of the International Anti-corruption Academy (IACA) agreement, and the approval of another pact between the government of the Russian Federation and Nigeria.

Mr. Jonathan had, on Monday, during the opening of the annual Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference in Abuja, vowed to surprise critics of his administration.

He promised to complete his tenure on a high note, and see through the execution of several projects that would impact the lives of Nigerians by 2013.
