The school converted the class rooms to poultry farms during holidays.

The Katsina Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) has closed down a private school in Katsina metropolis, Usulil Tabiyatul Badiwiya, for using its classrooms as poultry during vacations.
Umar Falalu, the Education Secretary, ordered the closure on Monday when he visited the school.
He said the closure of the school became necessary following reports that the school classrooms were turned into poultry farms during vacations.
“We find out that the school authority is operating poultry in the classrooms when the pupils are vacation as you can see,” he said.
He noted that the act of the school authority had violated the rules and regulations governing the operation of private schools and was, therefore, closed down indefinitely.
According to him, poultry operation in the school can affect the health of the pupils and as such government would enforce appropriate sanctions.
Mr. Falalu added that the school inspection is a continuous exercise.
He called on private schools in the area to ensure strict compliance with the laid down rules as well as to renew their licenses to avoid embarrassment.
He also urged private schools operating on temporary sites to move to their permanent sites without delay.
Mr. Falalu also advised parents to always make proper inquiries of schools before registering their wards into them.
The officials of the affected school, however, declined to comment on the closure.
