Peter Okoye, one half of the popular hip hop duo, Psquare, and his long-time girlfriend, Lola Omotayo, are expecting their second baby together.

Peter confirmed the news via his twitter handle @PeterPsquare, in the early hours of Friday, August 10, in a post which read, “I am happy we are expecting another baby together. Thank God for the gift of life.”

While he did not mention who the mother was in the tweet, his publicist, Bayo Adetu, confirmed that it was indeed, Omotayo, with whom he had his first child, Cameron, on September 23, 2009.
Omotayo has also been responding to congratulatory messages on her twitter handle,@LolaOmotayo2011.
In April, the two had denied pregnancy tales after they were sighted leaving the Palms Shopping Mall, Lekki, Lagos, by controversial Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji.
Debunking the story back then as a mere rumour, Peter cleared the air in a tweet. “Just because she wore a Boubou top doesn’t mean she’s pregnant. Next time I will ask her 2 wear a sexy tight dress to the mall…lol,” his post read.
In a 2008 interview in the Encomium magazine, Omotayo was first to confirm she was pregnant with their first child. When asked when she intends to tie the knot with the successful singer, she said, “There is so much that completes a woman and marriage is not it.”
“I’m not afraid to be alone. I pray, I am not going to end up alone for the rest of my life, I want a life partner. But the tag, marriage is not something I think is the ultimate. I would take my time rather than rush into marriage only top later discover that it is not what to expect,” she said.
The soon to be mother also mentioned the busy career of Peter as one of the reasons for the delay in marriage.
“Peter as well is dealing with his own career and he wants to focus on that and you know, maybe in a year’s time, I’d be ready to get married and if he’s not, then we may get to go our separate ways,” she said. “The truth of the matter is that marriage is not in the picture for me now.”
The arrival of the second child may just be an indication that the couple plan to tie the knot soon.
Peter Okoye recently returned from Anambra State, along with his family members, where he went to bury his mother, Josephine Okoye.
