Flying Eagles arrive Dar es Salam

Nigeria’s U20 team, the Flying Eagles, arrived in Dar es Salam Thursday afternoon ahead of their 2013 African Youth Championship qualifier against Tanzania.


The team led by NFF technical committee chairman, Chris Green, touched down at the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salam 4.15pm local time after a brief stopover in Kilimanjaro.


According to Sam Audu, media officer for the Flying Eagles, the Nigerian delegation were received by officials from the Nigerian High Commission in Tanzania as well as officials of the Tanzania FA.


They are lodged at the Rungwe Palace Hotel in downtown Dar es Salam.


Coach John Obuh disclosed that the team will have their first training Friday by match time, which is 3.30pm, 1.30pm Nigerian time.


The Flying Eagles are due back in Nigeria on Wednesday after a one-night stopover in Rwanda.


Officials said they will fly out from Lagos for Ilorin Thursday morning.


The Kwara State capital city will stage the second leg AYC qualifier on August 11.
