JTF confirms two Indians killed in Maiduguri

 

The Joint Task Force in Borno state has confirmed the killing of two Indians in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The Indians were killed by unknown attackers, the JTF said.

A statement from the spokesperson of the JTF, Sagir Musa, said the incident occurred at a Gum Arabic factory at around 10 a.m. during a heavy downpour.

“Information available to the JTF indicated that some terrorists attacked a Gum Arabic Factory located at Bayern Qtrs, Maiduguri metropolis today at about 1000 hrs during heavy rain/downfall,” Mr. Musa said.

He added that one other person, also an Indian, escaped with serious wounds and is receiving treatment at the state specialist hospital.

The JTF also said the suspects made away with N90,000 from the factory.

Investigations, Mr. Musa said, have commenced on the incident.

“The area has been cordoned off and search is in progress with the view to apprehending the culprits,” he said.
