BREAKING NEWS: Explosion rocks Port Harcourt

Reports reaching us indicate that a massive bomb blast has gone off in the Rumuokoro part of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Details of the incident are still sketchy but residents around the area say the explosion was a result of a bomb planted in a commercial vehicle.

Two people are said to have died on the spot and several others injured. But that could not be independently verified at this point.
No one or group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
The National Emergency Management Agency has issued a one-paragraph statement confirming the explosion, saying the driver of the commercial bus had been confirmed dead.
“NEMA confirms an explosion today in a commercial bus at Rumuokoro roundabout in Port Harcourt,” the statement by the agency’s spokesperson, Yushau Shuaibu, said.
“The driver died from the explosion. The situation is under control.”

Our reporter who visited the scene said the affected bus broke down and was being pushed off the road by its occupants when the explosion went of.
He said one of the three people pushing the bus died instantly while scores of other people were wounded and rushed to hospital.
The police however claim the victims of the explosion were armed robbers who met their waterloo while proceeding on operation. “Luck ran out of them while going on operation,” the state police commissioner was quoted as saying.
The Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, also gave a similar account of the incident while speaking on CHANNELS TV.

Please wake up BOKO HARAM AND MILITANTS ARE THE SAME (COMMON CRIMINALS) we have the same problems in Nigeria breakdown of VALUE SYSTEM that is why Bandits have become leaders. The earlier we realize that our major obstacle is to deal with the ASSOCIATION OF TREASURY LOOTERS where there is no southern/northern, Muslim/Christian when it comes to stealing public funds for their selfish interest. Check the records of all thefts/looting in Nigerian or refusal to deliver on democratic dividends to all nigerians either in the north/south, Muslim/Christian we all suffer the same crises. Please fellow Nigerians let’s do according to what late FELA said YAP THEM starting from the COUNCILLOR in YOUR WARD UPWARDS dont recognize them see or treat them with DISGUST and educate the masses to see them as COMMON THIEVES!

Aamechi is very sick. This was how himself and odili turned university students into cultist-the recent murder of 4 university students is the work of boko haram-this event has nothing to do with armed robbery-it was a terrorist attack from the Fulani North
