Breaking News: Two policemen killed as gunmen open fire on petrol tanker in Kano

Unidentified gunmen suspected to be men of the dreaded extremist sect, Boko Haram, riding on motorcycles this after opened fire on a fuel tanker offloading fuel in private filling station along Ring Road in the Kano metropolis.

Eye witnesses say the gunmen also fired at some policemen nearby, killing two of them instantly.
Premium Times could not independently confirm details of incident, as the spokesperson of the state command of the Nigerian Police, Musa Majiya, did not pick call to his telephone .
Reports say the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Zone 7 and the Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF) on security in the state are at the moment at the scene to ascertain the number of causalities.
Though the motive of the attack was yet to be established, eye witnesses say the attackers may have failed in their attempt to cause the explosion of the fuel tanker to bring people and property to harm.
