FEC to ratify approval for National College of Petroleum, Kaduna Wednesday

The meeting of the Executive Council of the Federation tomorrow will feature the traditional award of contracts, this time mostly for the development of the Petroleum Technology Development Centres (PTDF).
During the meeting expected to be presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, will present memoranda on contract for consultancy services and works for the PTDF information, computers and technology (ICT) centres in some educational institutions across the country.
Contracts for some projects in some secondary and primary schools in Okrenko and Oproza communities in Delta state as well as the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurum and Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe in Bayelsa state by the PTDF would also be discussed.
Other contracts to be proposed by Mrs. Alison-Madueke slated for discussion during the meeting include those for supply, installation and commissioning of printing press equipment under the PTI upgrade project and the ratification of the President’s anticipatory approval for the  contracts for the development of the National College of Petroleum Studies, Kaduna.
It was gathered that the meeting would consider the approval of the Ministry of Communication Technology to leverage information and communication technologies (ICTS) for effective and transparent coverage, while the minister of education would present the report of the 58th meeting of the National Council on Education (NCE) held recently in Abuja.
Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is expected to report back to council on the outcome of the 47th meeting of the Audit Committee as well as the 90th meeting of the Board of Directors of the African Export-Import Bank (AFREXIMBANK) held in Cairo, Egypt recently.

The council will also receive from the minister of lands, housing and urban development, the report of Nigeria’s participation at the recent International Builders show in Orlando, Florida.
