Adamu Ahmad, Comptroller of Customs for Borno and Yobe Commands, was on Tuesday night killed by unidentified persons in Potiskum, Yobe, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
The Commissioner of Police in Yobe, Lawal Tanko, confirmed to NAN in a telephone interview on Wednesday in Damaturu that the comptroller was killed at about 7.45 p.m. Tuesday.
“We are suspecting hired assassins and not robbery because they did not take anything. But, we are still investigating the matter,” he said.
NAN reports that Potiskum is the headquarters of one of the five local government areas in the state under a state of emergency imposed by the Federal Government due to security challenges.
