Nine bombers, believed to be christians, were apprehended this morning when they attempted to bomb a COCIN church at Miya Barkate, 20 kilometres along Jos-Bauchi Highway in Bauchi State.

The suspected bombers are Lamba Goma, Filibus Danasa, Joshua Ali, Danjuma Sabo, Joseph Audu, Simon Gabriel, Bulus Haruna, Yohanna Ishaya and Daniel Ayuba (who was the immediate past Secretary of PDP at Tilden Fulani Ward, Toro LGA, Bauchi State).

The suspects are members of the same COCIN church, Unguwar Rimi, a new and small Christian settlement between Tilden Fulani and Shere Hills. The suspects who were thoroughly beaten by the public were rescued by police and then detained at the Toro Divisional Police Division before they were transferred to Bauchi State Police Command, Bauchi.

At about the same time this morning in the Neighbouring Plateau State, a bomb explosion was reported at the headquarters of the same COCIN church during a Sunday service. The number of casualties are not certain. The pastor of the targeted COCIN Church in Bauchi is Ishaya Izam, who recently arrived on posting from the Cocin headquarters in Jos, which was bombed this morning.

It is not clear if the two bombings are related. A statement on the event in Bauchi state is yet to be issued by the Police.

Spokesperson of the Bauchi State command of the police, Hassan Mohammed, confirmed the incident but said he would only provide details later.

“The suspects are in the police headquarters but we will give full details after investigators have ascertained the full situation,” Mr. Mohammed said.

  • To learn that one of the suspects was a former PDP Ward Secretary, leaves lots of questions on our minds as to whether or not these spates of bombings across the Country are not political instead of religiously motivated. If the former is the case, then our polity has a long way to go.

These are clearly the suspects of the Jos bomb blast trying to divert the attention of Nigerians following the reports of suicide bomber that bomb cocin headquater in Jos. I attended the said church this morning and there is no iota of news such thing happening today. may be you can change your ploy.

Cock and bull story. Aliyu Tilde is a known religious and ethnic zealot. The devil is the father of lies and liars. Give it a few days and the truth about this concocted story will be known.

    • Schwartzemann

Keep on fooling yourself. Oh this is a lie now abi? How did you confirm the others that you would jump to support (if they were Muslims)? With this one you need a few days abi? It is clear to all but yourself that you are the devil and grand patron of all liars. Scum.

To it is left for Nigerians to thirnk well about who is really behind all the terror acts and what is the main purpose? Why are christians involved in bombing churches themselves have they lost confidence in the religioun or is it what they are being taught? We really now have to rethink. But the most surprising thing is that the Federal Govt and CAN should explain this to the Muslims and really appologise to the Muslims.

Point of correction. Only notorious Christians just to demonise Islam

Dis could also be as a result of church rivalry. I mean we can’t rule out all possibilities. I also believe frm now on media should be more clear about how they get claims from which ever group claims responsibility. Cos I believe dey also contribute to dis confusion fueling da crisis in da process.

  • Free2ahmadbug

I always tell people that Government and politicians are responsible for all the bomb attacks in this country. They just want to confuse the Nigerians and divert there attention to this unwanted attacks while they are stealing our money behind our backs in the name of national security. So that at the end of there tenure/term, they will claim that they spent our money in the name of national security.
Like the security cameras and detectors all around the FCT Abuja, is a typical example such that the contract for installing these equipments is shared amongst them, and believe me these installations don’t work! Just like any other thing that the government claim to provide.
