Boko Haram kills police officer in Kaduna, injures 2 others

Reports from Kaduna says gunmen riding on motorcycle opened fire and shot a police officer attached to the mobile unit in Kaduna dead.

The incident occured in Tirkania, a suburb of the city located along the byepass expressway.

A resident of the area, Isa Aliyu, told Premium Times that another seperate attack, also by gunmen on motorcyle shot and critically injure two others in Rigasa, a neighbourhood not far from Tirkania, venue of the first attack.

The spokesman of the state police command, Aminu Lawan, confirmed that an officer was killed this evening but that the incident occurred at Kakuri not Tirkania.

“One of our officers was killed by unknown gunmen in Kakuri today,” Mr. Lawan said.

The spokesman however said he was not aware of any other attack elsewhere in the town.
