The police in Kaduna state has confirmed to Premium Times that a suspected suicide bomber was shot by security officials manning a check point near the Government House in Kaduna.
The state command’s spokesperson, Aminu Lawan, said, ” A man approached the checkpoint driving a car but refused to stop for checking and even tried to force his way through the barricaded road leading to the Government House and the officers had no option than to shoot,” Mr. Lawan said.
No explosive was however found in the car, weakening police’s argument that the man plotted to blow up the Government House.
The spokesperson also said the man did not die from the gunshot and has been rushed to hospital.Today’s attempt is coming a week after another suicide bomber attempted to blow up the administrative block of the First Division of the Nigerian Army Headquarters in Kaduna.
