Our correspondent say the Mariri police station along Jigawa-Kano road were attacked by gunmen who suddenly open fire on the police. Almost simultaneously, the Sharada police station on the outskirt of the city was also attacked.
We could not establish casualty yet as scare stiff residents have scampered indoors.

The sect members, police say, attacked and bombed the police station, located on the outskirt of the city, with explosives and sporadic gunshots, leaving residents, who were hurrying home to comply with the dusk to dawn curfew imposed on the city, scampering for safety.
State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, said security agents had been drafted to the area to repel the attacks .Security has also been heightened in other parts of the city, Mr. Idris said, while the officer injured in the attack was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Details of the attack on the Mariri police station is still sketchy at the time of this report, although our correspondent quoted residents as reporting sporadic gunshots around the area.
