The police in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, say gunmen have attacked an Air force base, a police station, and military check point leaving five people dead just after mid-day on Tuesday.
The spokesman of the state police command, Samuel Tizhe, who confirmed the incident, said among the dead are two policemen, one soldier and two civilians.
A witness who spoke to us over the phone said the civilian who died in the attacks is a shop owner was hit by a stray bullet.
No group or person has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
