Madalla Bombing mastermind escapes custody

Madalla Bombing

Kabir Sokoto, the alleged mastermind of the Christmas day bombing at St Theresa Catholic Church, Madalla, has escaped from police custody in Abaji area council of the FCT.

Mr.Sokoto was reported to have been arrested at the Borno state governor’s lodge in Asokoro, Abuja alongside a serving military officer, and he was taken to Abaji on Sunday by police officers investigating the case to search a house that was said to be owned by him.

However, eye witnesses say the vehicle in which he was being transported was attacked by a group of youths in the town and the suspect utilized the pandemonium that followed to escape.

Several attempts to reach the spokesperson of the FCT police Command, Moshood Jimoh, were unsuccessful.
