Monday night killings by Boko Haram in Borno, Yobe

Gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect have shot dead five people in Maiduguri and Damaturu, capital cities of Borno and Yobe states respectively.

“Two people have been shot dead today by Boko Haram in Maiduguri,” the operations officer for the Joint Task force, Victor Ebheleme, informed Premium Times.

“The area in which the attack took place has been cordoned off and the killers have been trailed, but no arrests have been made yet.”Mr. Ebheleme said.

Three persons, who sources say are nationals of Chad Republic were also shot and Killed in another attack in Damaturu, Yobe state police commissioner, Lawal Tanko, said.

Like the attacks in Maiduguri, no arrest has been made with regards to the shooting in Damaturu yet.
