Protesters have shut down the ever busy Ikorodu road in protest of the federal government’s removal of fuel subsidy.
The protest, which began at the NLC secretariat at Yaba, proceeded through Ojuelegba road before turning into Ikorodu road.
Among those leading the protest include the Dipo Fashina, the National President of the Joint Action Forum; Abiodun Aremu, the Secretary; Ganiat Fawehinmi, wife of the late Gani Fawehinmi; Isa Aremu, NLC’s Vice President; Femi Falana; amongst others.
Apart from an initial forceful closure of an Oando petrol station at Surulere, the protest has been relatively peaceful.
