The Inspector-General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, has attributed the delay in the payment of December salaries to officers and men, to the inability of the clearing bank to credit the account of the Police.
This was contained in a press statement on Saturday in Abuja.
The statement, which did not name the bank involved, quoted Mr. Ringim as given assurance that efforts would be intensified with the relevant agencies to resolve the delay .
He also appealed to officers and men of the police to remain calm and focussed on the performance of their duties.
It added that the delay did not emanate from either the Force Headquarters or the Ministry of Police Affairs as was being speculated.
