The Jigawa Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, on Monday said six students and a driver died in an auto crash involving a Toyota bus with registration number 41A 05 YB on Gaya-Kano road.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Zayyanu Ibrahim, told journalists in Dutse that the accident occurred at 12:55pm on Sunday.

Mr. Ibrahim said the accident happened when the driver of the bus lost control at Zangon Buji village in Dutse Local Government Area.

He said the bus was conveying exchange students of unity schools from Damaturu, Yobe, to Abuja.

Four of the victims died on the spot, while the rest died on Monday at the Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital, Dutse, Mr. Ibrahim said.

According to the public relations officer, 16 others who sustained various degree of injury were receiving treatment at the Dutse General Hospital and the Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital.

He advised motorists to desist from speeding under whatever circumstances.
