Nigerian Army threatens to move against Shi’ite leaders over alleged inciting comments

Shi'ite procession from Kaduna to Zaria

The Nigerian Army has warned members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, to desist from making misleading comments, capable of breaching public peace and order.

This is contained in a statement issued by Army spokesman, Sani Usman.

“The Army is aware of clandestine campaign of calumny and misinformation on the incident of Dec.12, 2015 in Zaria.’’

He said that “a group of high ranking members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), led by one Dr Abdullahi Danladi, a lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria,’’ was misrepresenting facts about the incident.

“He was at the university on Wednesday soliciting support and telling lies about the circumstances surrounding the incident and the incident itself.

“He also went further to make false and unfounded allegations of casualty figures and desecration of burial grounds.

“Dr Abdullahi Danladi and like minded individuals should be warned to desist from telling lies and misrepresentation of facts capable of misleading the general public.”

The statement said the actions of Mr. Danladi was preposterous and showed lack of concern and respect for peace and tranquility.

It said that the Army would not sit back and allow some mischievous elements in the society to further create unnecessary tension and disaffection in the society.

It urged the public to disregard the misleading campaign by the sect.

“This attitude will not be tolerated where people abuse their privileged position to mislead the public, create disaffection.

“Nigerians and indeed all well meaning people are please enjoined to be patient and await the outcome of the various enquiries instituted by various government and non-governmental agencies.”

Any perceived grudges against Mr. Danladi should be reported to the Police for appropriate action. If the Police for any reason feels it may require the assistance of the military then and only then, may it seek official aid from our army. It is wrong for our military to directly threaten civilians and member of the IMN. It is also wrong for our military to expect that a sense of outrage will not manifest from their recent conduct (be it right or wrong) whereas people were mowed down in our streets cold-bloodly. To seek to gag Nigerians from expressing such outrage is in itself preposterous

    • True Nigerian

      I totally agree with you.

    • Dan maikoko

Quite right that civilians died unnecessary but considering what we are going through and the number of people killed in the BH saga, its a small price to pay for future peace. If such groups are tackled this way in their infancy we would not have to kill innocent people in Zaria. The choice is ours either we do it now or we do it later at a much higher price.
Why don’t you ask the police to go to Sambisa now? Did the police invite the army to Sambisa? You must understand that a threat to national security is not only when people take up arms, its when they defy constituted authority. Boko Haram started by defying an insignificant state law of helmets for motor cycles. See where it landed us. Now we can only imagine where we will land if we don’t confront people who challenge the right of freedom of movement for citizens and even the COAS!

      • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

The Shiite are not a small group and they do not do terrorism here, there are millions of Shiite Muslims scattered in many countries around the globe, they are practising their type of Islam, they do not kill or behead like the Sunni terrorists of Al-Quaeda,Al-Shabab,Al-Nusra, ISIS,Boko-haram etc…LET TRUTH BE TOLD .

        • Dan maikoko

Yep tell your truth but don’t defy our nation, a serious leader is now at the helms.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Your north contributes nothing to the revenue, you are just hangers-on and economic parasites, that is why you are desperate to kill once you are given political power. Buhari has already killed several hundreds in 7 months and will probably kill more. You need to develop some balls and call our bluff, you are parasites and we are not related to you guys historically so why are you hell-bent on having us around if not to avoid penury.

          • Dan maikoko

Power is the game Tawanda. We are parasites, we are all of the bad things you call us, but to be fair you know who the cap fits and so let them wear it. You are able to produce your finest when the opportunity was given to you and your best happen to be Jonathan-Patient. See how they left our country. Who is the worst murderer? The one who stole billions meant for weapons procu rement

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

The same parasitic relationship in Sudan has been removed, hopefully oil will fall to $5/barrel ,the USA have voted to resume exportation of crude but our great jackpot will be to discover oil in the north so that you can forge ahead with other Islamic countries, honestly we do not hate but we are tired of your retrogressive ways,we are fed up,just imagine how people are killed up north…..just like animals and Buhari wants to bring the same culture down south, shooting unarmed protesters on our streets?

          • Burbank

“we are tired of your retrogressive ways.”

            Don’t be; it’s Xmas.

Be merry, after all Nnamdi Kanu (“Nigeria will never arrest me”) is caged in my zoo!

          • Burbank

            Very good retort.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

We should not even be talking war,it should be the business of the Mohammedans,We are peaceful people,we want to join modern civilisation,we like our pork, western education etc,we should not be bed fellows at all. I am hoping that one day you will pick up courage to drop us infidels and move on,life should not be about oil and gas revenue. We just wanna be free.

          • Dan maikoko

I hope your modern civilization share your love for peace. Look around the world they eat pork and kill people that is all that is modern today. Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Egypt, Libya, …

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Most wars are in Muslim nations and if you share borders or country,it also becomes risky. I want to live my life in peace and liberty,I want to see girls dressed in a modern ways ,drink my whiskey or brandy, have sex freely etc,I love being a free infidel.

          • Burbank

That’s why Buhari is taking the war to the Mohamedans before the shiites became another Boko Haram or ISIS monsters, like during Jonathan era.

          • ABUBAKAR AUWAL

You are mistaken. The Military including Buhari are trying to create another Boko haram by their recent actions. They want to turn the non-violent Shiites in Nigeria into violent ones. The group has been in existence for 37 years and has never been associated with violence. Any time there is crisis involving them they have been attacked by others. If they turn violent, the military can now have another front to fight and continue to siphon our resources in the name of war. For Buhari, he will then remain the darling of the west by presenting himself as “fighting Terror” That is why biggest supporter of terrorism-Saudi Arabia whose brand of Islam is practiced by ISIS, Boko Haram and Alshabab etc now has a phantom grouping of “Muslim anti-terrorist countries” that Buhari dragged Nigeria into.

          • kiks

Your so-called non-violent Shiites should worship in their mosques and not on a common highway to all Nigerians. What they’ve been doing lately was violence, there is no other way to describe it. My high school teacher in those days used to say “when you trouble Trouble, Trouble will trouble you” The Shiites of Zaria troubled Trouble and Trouble hit them back and hard too. They should stop looking for trouble. Fela Anikulapo also sang that “When Trouble sleep, and Yanga go wake am, then Trouble is surely looking for Wahala, and n go get am”

          • Burbank

Like the Iran-backed shiites in Lebanon Hezbollah and the Houthis in Yemen?

          • ABUBAKAR AUWAL

Both groups you mentioned as farwe know are involved in local politics in their environments which involved military aspects. Nigerian shiites have existed for nearly 40 yrs without any political involvement and never used arms so they are not the same.

          • Burbank

See the Youtube Video – “Shiites Attacked Nigerian Army Chief”
When thugs with spears, bows and arrows, cutlasses and machetes blocked the roads and decided who have the rights to use public roads, then they only have themelves to blame when they are cleared of the roads.

          • kiks

You seem to be a little minded person, talking with all sides of your mouth. Your reasoning is hardly higher than that of a three year old. You seem to be more interested in civil and eventual total disruption of life in Nigeria so that you can have your Biafra. Unfortunately, even now I doubt if you can spend a night in your Biafra with your eyes closed. I pray that you get your dream Biafra where unity of purpose will be hard to build and by then Nigeria will never want you back in their union.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

I am honest and straight to the point, you can call me all sorts of names, you are welcome.

          • Burbank

            Sure, lolz

        • Burbank

“Shiite are not a small group and they do not do terrorism”

Iran-supported Shiites Hezbollah is a US-designated terrorist group amd vowed to destroy Israel.
Just like Iran supported the shiites in Nigeria.
          Be truthful at least once.
          It’s Xmas.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

The hizboullah do militantly oppose the state of Israel because of their support for Palestinian independence and they have made enemies with the west hence they are called terrorists but they are a political party in Lebanon and they do not do “Jihad” that go around the world killing people and beheading like the Sunni terrorist organisations.

          • Burbank

now you justify the killings of innocent Israelis by shiites Hezbollah

        • abfi

But their behavior in recent times show they’re dancing towards terrorism. When groups of young and not so young religious fanatics begin to disrupt citizens movements in the community they live and have now graduated to doing such evil on one of Nigeria’s major highway (Kaduna-Zaria) obstructing the movement of military officers including the army chief, they’ve courted trouble and have gotten it. They either choose the path of honor or continue with their lawlessness. I hope they will chose the former.

      • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

There are law breakers in every country ,the real questions here are ….Does the Nigerian constitution prescribe summary mass extra-judicial execution for law breakers who block the roads ? Does the army or any Nigerian have the statutory right to act as prosecutor, Judge and executioner of other citizens considering the fact that the right to a fair trial is enshrined in the constitution ?

        • Burbank

          “Right to a fair trial”
          Like for detainees in Guantanamo?

    • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

      Nigerians are sleep-walking into fascism.

  • International games

What the hell is this? Don’t we have police anymore? Army should please speak when spoken to. The politicians should be keeping quiet until these soldiers come for them. That is when they will know their jobs. Idiots!

  • bigbang

There is a limit to free speech. Don’t make inciting comments that will lead to violence.

  • Proud Yoruba

But why so trigger happy? If they disobey the law, arrest them, this is police matter until they declare war against Nigeria. Please let’s all be more civil.

    • Dan maikoko

Oh so you did not even know that they have their president, their flag, state governors and a and LG chairmen? You did not know that they have their own rules and that obeying Nigerian law is a crime to them? They have a standing army. What more do you need to say that they have declared war on the Nigerian state?

      • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

When did raising a flag become a capital offence ? dont you see flags in banks etc,you are an impulsive liar . The terrorists who kill Nigerians are the Sunni Boko-haram,the Shiites do not kill or behead Nigerians, rather it is the sunni dominated northern establishment trying to exterminate them.

        • Dan maikoko

Yah I have seen flags in the premises of international organizations, banks, unions and religious sects, but they fly side by side with the Nigerian flag. In fact as a rule the Nigerian flag flies equal to or higher than all other flags in such premises. Can you show me one picture of a Nigerian flag anywhere in a Shiite procession or premises?

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

We fly the Biafran flag here in the SE since Buhari started shooting unarmed protesters. There is no part of the constitution which forbids flying of flags and all states in the SS have their own flags and emblems. You northerners think that being in one country means people should forget their history or background ,that is far from the realities of the constitution. We are a free democracy,we have freedom of religious worship, freedom of expression, freedom of association etc. Even in the north you have your Sharia and hisbah police with flags….what is your problem ? The Shiites are not your slaves, they are Nigerian citizens with the same fundamental rights as Buhari.

          • Dan maikoko

To fly a flag is no problem, but the day your Biafra defy the Nigerian law you will see what will happen. This is no lameduck Jonathan govt, its a serious government that deals with issues of national urgency with dispatch. BTW which part of the SE history is Biafra?

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

We cannot be cajoled into relinquishing an iota of our history or democratic freedoms. We will pursue self determination using democratic and peaceful means as we have been doing. 45 years after the war,the struggle has been revitalised due to Buhari’s confrontational and killing ways. As for Buhari and his military assassins, they can buy more body bags and train more snipers to kill unarmed civilians if they so wish.

          • Dan maikoko

Forgive me for asking but the people of the SE (predominantly Igbo) have been existing for perhaps tens of thousands of years and what you are talking about here is a 45 year history. Before 1967 your brand of SE history is unknown. Just stay on course don’t defy my beloved nation and you can have your Biafra for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

There is no love at all,we cannot love people who kill and issue threats on a daily basis. Buhari will come and go but we shall continue till we get to our objective.

          • Burbank

“but we shall continue till we get to our objective.”
Like Kanu caged in my zoo.

          • Burbank

            gbam..
Even Wike of Rivers, Akpabio of A’ Ibom and Willie Obiano of Anambra banned biafra.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

            on air only.

          • Burbank

            same like the shiites

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Your exchange is not cerebral, you do one-liners and do not make sense. In fact one cannot learn anything interacting with you,it’s such a waste of bytes.

          • Dan maikoko

Nope. One liners that weigh a thousand times more than your 100 liners. You just cant be saved Tawanda. You are in fact incommunicado in more ways than one.

          • Burbank

            LOLz…give him a break.
            It’s Xmas.

          • Burbank

Same arguments by Shekau and Kanu!

          • ABUBAKAR AUWAL

Again their flags symbolize religious festivals not statehoods. It therefore is not essential to raise the National flag. Show me one mosque that has a Nigerian flag raised in its premises. even the National mosque does not. I am not sure all Churches do that either.

          • Dan maikoko

No mosque worth its name will raise a flag, any flag. A flag to the Nigerian constitution is not the same flag that you may believe. For the Nigerian constitution any flag is a flag and a symbol of an identity that is why the constitution demands that where a flag, any flag, is raised a Nigerian flag must be raised to the same (or higher) level. Follow the constitution or abdicate Bukar.

        • Burbank

Try raising the Israel flag among these shiite-ISIS thugs.

        • Ade Omowest

Nna, wetin be your own in this matter? We dey talk of situation in Nigeria and your fake phantom Biafraud.

      • ABUBAKAR AUWAL

Dan mai kosai, remember the Shiites have members in all strata of society including the civil service. They have not declared a separate republic. They have flags which symbolize different religious activities they carry out for example, Maulud, Ashura etc. It is not symbolizing a state or country. The nigerian constitution allows one to worship any how. we cannot insist on them following our doctrine. It is therefore a lie to say that they declared war on the Nigerian state.

        • Dan maikoko

Bukar, the Nigerian constitution does not allow you or anybody to worship anyhow.

          • ABUBAKAR AUWAL

Yes it does as long as you do not impringe on other people’s right. By the way tell me one religious group that does not block roads or make annoying noise that impringe on the rights of their neighbours in Nigeria. Every Friday we go to mosques all over the North, the roads leading to that mosque is sealed off in any city and area in the North. You have Churches and Mosques with loud speakers waking people up as early as 5.00am sometimes. Should all those poople be killed in cold blood?

        • abfi

Yes, they have the liberty to worship who they believe at their mosques, other worship centers and their homes, but not on the highway, disrupting civil order. Is Kaduna – Zaria highway a mosque or worship center. There are video recordings of these miscreants trying to prevent senior military officers, including the Chief of Army Staff and their entourage from plying that road on that fateful day. The senior army officers came out of their vehicles appealing to the nonentities to allow their free movement, but the religious fanatics refused. Do the block-heads blaming the military think at all? Which army anywhere in the world would allow miscreants to subject their men to humiliation and harm. If you have no gun, you don’t dare endanger somebody with one. Nigerian citizens should be sincere and honest in discussing issues of importance to all citizens and not make unfounded insinuations about a clear case of a sect deliberately looking for an avoidable problem. Where there is no law, there is no sin, but Nigeria has laws that regulate civil behavior and every right thinking person should promote and obey such laws.

          • ABUBAKAR AUWAL

In any sensible country, there are rules of engagement. The military were going into civilian areas not battle field so your whole assertion makes no sense. The proper thing to do will have been to disperse or arrest the culprits and try them in court. That is the duty of the Police by the way. The question is why spend 2 full days killing and maiming them in different locations far away from the point of initial encounter even their houses? which court or rule gives the Nigerian army that right?

          • 1nigeria

Remember, the press reported a gun battle in the night. Gun battle is between two set of people. so pls identify the other set of people or who are the other set of people exchanging gun shots with the military.

          • ABUBAKAR AUWAL

Exactly. where are the casualties on the side of themilitary if there was a gun battle. Where are the guns recovered by the military. My friend, the soldiers were the one shooting their way through defenceless people to Zakzaky’s house in a bid to arrest him. If these people had any guns it will have been displayed by the soldiers after defeating them but not a single soldier was injured by their own reports.

Have we stopped being a democratic country, why is allowing the army to terrorize citizens,is this not encroaching on the duties of the police and DSS? why is Buhari turning Nigeria to a draconian state and where are the civil rights community.

    • Burbank

“why is Buhari turning Nigeria to a draconian state and where are the civil rights community ?”
Simple – unlike feeble Jonathan, Buhari nipped problems in the bud before shiites group became ISIS or Boko Haram monsters.

    • ABUBAKAR AUWAL

They said once a Soldier, always a soldier. Buhari will never see anything wrong with what the military does. He is one of them for life.

    • takethetrain

      lol..well see soon enough.

  • Burbank

    Bravo to the military.
Before small criminal gangs become another Boko Haram, the army must nipped them in the bud.

  • Otile

    Jama’a barka da Maulud Nabiyi.

    • ABUBAKAR AUWAL

Barka Otile and thanks for the Greetings. Merry Christmas to you also. With regards to the action of the Nigerian army, the whole truth have not even been said yet. Human rights watch only scratched the surface. Talking to some people who live in Zaria, even non-shiites were not spared the horror. We have an illitrate group of cowards called the army who do not hesitate to kill civilians at will probably under the influence of drugs. Burutai is a killer who killed scores of people in the Niger Delta and has no human relations. He has disdain for civilians and was rewarded by Buhari to annihilate Boko haram. He is full of anger because of what Boko Haram did to his village in Borno and is therefore not thinking straight. He needs to be relieved of his position and prosecuted.

      • Otile

My brother, it is sad to see the army used to settle religious and political scores in a diverse country like Nigeria. Power in the hands of illiterates is dangerous.

        • Oh!

Why don’t you and Abubakar Auwal quit your crap and go and get married?
It’s ok. We will support you.

If anything it will expedite the creation of your own facts you arrive at by bouncing your nonsense between each other!
There is no where in the world where the use of deadly force (even by civilians) is illegal if one fears for his/her life.

These people kicked stone by trying to mob a Nigerian Army senior officer. If anything, they have learned their lessons.

          • Otile

Give me a brake. The sect is not known to be violent in Nigeria, talk-less of attacking the head of the army. Each time there has been trouble with them it happens that other religious bigots outside their sect are the aggressors. Do you think we don’t know what is happening in the North?

          • Manuel Tobby

Otile don’t mind these people, most of them knows nothing about the dynamics in Islam.

          • Oh!

It is you, your father and otile that do not know the dynamics in Islam!

When you are ready to get educated, let us know and we will provide you with a life coach in whatever scenario or subject we deem you lacking!

          • Oh!

A long long time ago. We were unfortunate enough to date a very gorgeous girl that hailed from an area close to out town in the east. She had brains, and looks. When she walks around, you will think she is smuggling coconut in her jeans.

The only issue with this girl is the fact that regardless of what is said and/or done, she ALWAYS only hears what she wants to hear. We even went as far as recording things on tape so as to point this issue out to her……..she would only say circumstances have changed.

Otile, you suffer from the same malady. You only hear what you want to hear based on how closely it resembles your own narrative. It is not entirely a horrible condition…it simply likens you to a goat with regards to stubbornness! Believe it or not, we actually quite fond of this aspect of your sad personality.

Your childishness impresses us and we advice that you do not loose your edge! Keep on keeping on.
On our part6, we will continue to monitor you from a distance and we will nudge you in the right direction every once in a while.

P.S. Consider the lenght of our reply to you. We do not spend as much time on most people.
YES! you should feel free to celebrate however you deem fit. We have no issue in allowing you to bask in our shadow. May God bless you.

          • Otile

Thanks but no thanks. I do not care for your idly fairy tale. This a crock of bullshit. Do you think your Taqiyya can influence me? Drop dead deciever.

          • ABUBAKAR AUWAL

Show the evidence of their threat to any soldier not just verbal altercation. Elzakzaky’s supporters out number the nigerian army by a factor of at least 10:1. If they are violent or carry arms how could the cowards in the army that a whole Battalion were chased out of Mubi town by 70 Boko Haram terrorist massacre them easily? Now they are trying to silence the peple they maltreated. We are in democracy and the Nigerian people deserve the truth. In this digital age, you cannot lie and cover up atrocities. Those killed by the military have names, families and will be known in due course and the truth will come out no matter how long.

      • Oh!

Read our comment to Otile below. It is for both of you.

        • takethetrain

no thanks, not interested in reading more lies…lol. sorry

  • Otile

I thought Imam Buhari’s gworvment would simple operate on Sunni sharia we are used to. Imam is going too far to adopt Taliban rabid Islamism which will not work in today’s Nigeria. Buhari army should be advised to stop meddling in civil and religious affairs of the people..

    • Otile

      …would simply operate… I mean to say.

    • Dan maikoko

Buhari being a typical Sunni is rounding up the Shiite army to ease the way for the islamization of Nigeria. As for your Christian brothers in the Army, we have successfully pass the compulsory food rations act through parliament. I am not supposed to leak this out but for my love for dear Otile I will say all army meals from 2016 onwards will contain a special concoction called “The Gallant Warrior” prepared by special Imams from Saudi Arabia. I will just say its a standard ISIS ration. Catch my drift?

      • Otile

Thank you for revealing this precious information to us, my brother. Every little piece of useful information helps us in this country. Well, military personnel have no control over their lives, they live by whatever their commander in chief hands to them. All they can do is to pray to God to give them a reasonable God fearing commander in chief otherwise they will always find their lives in harm’s ways in different forms. We pray our Christian soldiers will not be poisoned en mass, Buhari and Brute or Burutai can do it in a giffy. If they can commit this kind of atrocities in Zaria and Onitsha in one month we pray they never get access to the dirty bomb. These people are heartless.

Who is threatening who? I am for peace, you are for war. You people are the ones doing all the beheading and massacres, while are pleading with you to stop wasting human lives you did not create.

Food is food for the Christian,no fetish belief about it ,the Pope Francis recently prayed in a Mosque without his shoes on. Christians understand that there is “one God” and he is love !! Blood-bath,beheadings,amputations,hate and wars in the name of “jihad” are alien and condemnable in Christianity.

that’s most welcome and the so called misleading will be proved..ask sampson and paulygon42

Our ever gallant Army will take care of them.PMB is capable.

    • Oh!

      cultist personality disorder.

  • Omotolaaraujo

What is the Army going to do? Are they going to retaliate? I saw photos of what is being portrayed about the conflict that doesn’t look good for the military. The military is tainted and has a history that it cannot dismiss. Better prove it’s not being represented factually, or discipline whomever is responsible quickly for it. Nigerians don’t need Jonathan’s Army any more.

‘We have defeated Boko Haram’, Says President Buhari

“Boko Haram has reverted to using improvised explosive devices (IEDs); indoctrinating
young guys, they have now been reduced to that. But articulated conventional
attacks on centres of communication and populations, they are no longer capable
of doing that effectively. Boko Haram has been reduced to fighting with
improvised explosive devices (IED) and remains a force only in its heartland of
Borno State. So, I think technically, we have won the war because people are
going back into their neighborhoods. Boko Haram as an organised fighting
force, I assure you that we have dealt with them.”

    ……….President Muhammadu Buhari

    (December 24th, 2015)

  • Oh!

    To whom it may concern.

Be it known to all that the vile creature that calls himself Otile has recently come under our own protection (congratulatory messages are tolerated).

What does this mean? Simple!, When you attack him, you attack us!……and (to hell with proportionality) we ALWAYS respond with maximum prejudice!

Otile, the ball is in your court…..remain civil and all should be good.

The best known theorist of insurgency is Chinese Mao Zedong, who wrote “On Guerrilla War”. Mao laid out 3 “phases” of insurgency. First phase is the political work that is basically winning the “hearts and minds” of the population, a crucial move
because the population provides the support and cover for the insurgency. Next one is guerrilla warfare; the insurgents fight the state with the objective of weakening the government while consolidating their power. The last stage is the conventional war: this is when insurgents engage in large-scale battles to take control of territories. The Boko Haram phenomenon went through this process posited by Mao! Thus, the Federal Government must proactively deploy internationally recognized counterinsurgency moves to strategically paralyze any rebellion such as deployment of the military. Clausewitz, another politico-military strategist reminds us that the military, a violent national instrument, is normally utilized by all forms of government for their political commerce. Nigerians should appreciate the sacrifices of the Nigerian armed forces more, rather than unsuspectingly given their “hearts and minds” or supports to lawless and violent groups! Let us devote our time praying for the peace and prosperity of Nigeria without ceasing. God bless Nigeria and Nigerians.

U are a bloody uneducated clown———–one of those moaning mourners in APC, planted around by Liar Mohamed to pen rubbish-The anger being expressed by the Nigerian Armed Froces here, is the worst thing to happen to the Nigerian state—Sometimes i wonder if Premium Times really have Editors who are trained to put on their thinking cap–or use their Editorial judgement to critically examine news items before publishing them–?—–The assertions by the army is a clear indication that Buhari ordered the murder of the Shiites Mulims period–There is no doubt about it—Given the sensitive nature of the incident which led to the cold bloooded murder of over 200 Shiites, one would have expected the army to use caution as their watch word–Instead they are publicly issuing soul depressing threats to the Shiites–the same way their evil acts led to the murder of over 12 protesters in the south east–Another 17 in Bayelsa state during the elections there- While they sheepishly allow Liar Mohamed to announce the end of the boko haram war! Dont these soldiers have conscience at all-? Where is the milk of human kindness in them and Buhari? Yes they do not have such unique human traits, because their cammander in chief–Buhari-has himself gone bananas–upstairs————–Nigeria is now like a country with no leader–that is why the soldiers foolishly issued these threats to the Shiites instead of keeping quiet and using peaceful means to appease them Shiites—-Such matters are left for the Police and DSS and not the army to handle———-what a country–Can the head of the USA army issue such threats–to even a sect group’ He will be gone the next day—

Black Africans don’t think much, hence, they live in a time-warp of a quality of life not better
in trust or mutual cohesion of a ‘human community’ than that of their forbears. That’s why
in the whole world, Black Africa is the only region that’s not making meaningful progress.
They learn nothing, even after attending schools. It may be a DNA problem but Africans
are the only people who repeat the same errors time after time and insanely expect
excellent result. They steal, they rape, they kill, and they expect a congenial society.

    • Hassan Lawal

…. its obvious.you are very right,am sure its a DNA thing

    10. SELF RELIANCE/SELF PRIDE

The army can not threaten anyone! Our laws are sufficient enough to deal with the crimes of the man and his group. Let the police arrest and dock him, if he has broken any law, or constituting a threat to public peace. NIGERIA IS NOT AND WILL NEVER BECOME A FASCIST STATE.

  • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

1000 humans were killed ruthlessly and buried in mass graves and you people can’t differentiate between the oppressor and the oppressed. Shane on you. Persons like you become the catalyst for bloody revolutions.

  • TheLion layman

Nigerian army’s rules of engagement are= the law of the jungle. 1–Run away when the enemy is mightier,
2–kill innocent unarmed people without excuse.
3– when questioned afterwards invent new excuses everyday.
4–when the lies are caught , threaten everyone who has survived your massacre.

  • Excisionist

” The Nigerian Army has warned members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, to desist from making misleading comments, capable of breaching public peace and order. ”

When did the army get the mandate to maintain ‘public peace and order’??? What does the POLICE do? This is what you get when “power miss road” and due process is abused in public institutions.

In this challenging time, the Shiites in Nigeria should continue to be level headed and demonstrate that they are peaceful and tolerant, much against what the Sunnis portray them to be. In this case, they will have the whole Nigerian public behind them.
