INEC declares APC’s Akinwumi Ambode winner of Lagos governorship poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Akinwunmi Ambode, winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Lagos.

INEC says Mr. Ambode got 811,994 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party, who scored 659,788 votes.

The difference in votes between the two leading candidates is 152,206.

    Good. Saving grace. At least the Igbos will not be thrown into the Lagoon. Oba of Lagos should be given the contract to fence the Lagoon, so no body falls into it.
