#NigeriaDecides: Confusion at INEC as PDP blocks continuation of announcement of result

There is confusion at the INEC collation centre in Abuja as agents of the Peoples Democratic Party have blocked the continuation of the declaration of results.

One of the agents, Godsday Orubebe, a former Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, is holding on to the microphone and insisting that Chairman Attahiru Jega must not continue the declaration of results.

“Prof Jega, you cannot continue, you cannot continue,” he barked at Mr. Jega as the INEC chairman made to move ahead with proceedings.

He accused Mr. Jega of refusing to accept a petition from the the PDP protesting results from Kano, Katsina and Jigawa.

He also claimed that INEC had given the All Progressives Party advance copy of the results yet to be officially declared.

Mr. Jega strongly rejected the allegations.

        • obasanjo

But how did we get the exact same results they are computing 24 hours before JEGA announces. Jega is wasting our time on Live TV while APC has posted the results online already. The figures are exactly the same. Very sad.

          • Arkhuma

Because the returning officer would have announced the results at the state level and given a copy to the party agent before coming to Abuja. So the parties already know but the PDP is just playing the victim. Their party agents should give it to them if they don’t have the results now.

Oba – I myself have been able to compute accurate results just from the results as they are announced
Thisday newspaper themselves (PDPs mouthpiece) have conceded defeat before the final results have been announced
