“APC to boycott BON-organised TV debates”

John Odigie Oyegun, APC National Chairman

The presidential campaign council of the All Progressives Congress [APC] has just issued the statement below indicating it would not participate in the series of debates being organised by the Broadcast Organisation of Nigeria [BON].

Read full statement below:

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) will not be featuring in the ongoing electioneering public debates on national television and radio, being organised by the Broadcast Organisation of Nigeria (BON), because of the unhidden bias and campaign of calumny by some key organisers of the programme, against the corporate political interest of the party (APC) and its candidates.

“Garba Shehu, Director Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO) said in a press statement on Thursday in Abuja that the Nigeria Election Debate Group (NEDG) powered debate was fraught with fundamental errors from the outset, by wearing the toga of government control, especially being composed mainly of agencies and allies of the incumbent Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) administration.

“A salutary inspection of the composition of NEGD brings into focus the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), National Television Authority (NTA), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the Africa Independent Television (AIT, owned by a PDP chieftain). And going by the avalanche of inflammatory statements, misinformation and blatant lies being propagated by some of these media against our Party and candidates, contrary to the Koffi Annan brokered Abuja Peace Accord, and the failure of these aggressors to desist and apologise, have left the APC Campaign with no option than to steer clear of any premeditated smear campaign that could be inimical to our prospective electoral success,” Mr. Shehu said.

The APCPCO spokesman further explained that the boycott by the APC should not be seen as disrespect to Nigerian voters, or an alibi for the party to dodge public scrutiny; but it must be viewed as an honourable right not to consent to any activity that could distract, demean, denigrate or derail the fast-moving train of the party.

“The APC is a party of progressive intellectuals, genuine technocrats, successful businessmen and women, and most of all eminent and courteous people of honour who would never condescend to the level of sadistic gutter propaganda, all in the name of political exigency and crass opportunism,” Mr. Shehu said.

He noted that that many Government-controlled media have clipped the wings of APC promotional advertisements on one excuse on the other adding that, until a court upturned their decision recently, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) shut down some telecom portals for soliciting legitimate campaign funds from members of the public for APC.

“Aside, elements close to sitting President Goodluck Jonathan have commissioned series of derogatory and death threat advertorials against the person, family and associates of the opposition leader, General Muhammadu Buhari, to which the APC had sent letters of complaint to the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of State Security, Advertisers Practitioners of Nigeria (APCON), Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the erring media that published or aired such offensive adverts or documentaries.

“None of our letters of protest has been attended to by the authorities. So whatever the incumbent President wants to do with the instrument of state to harass members of the opposition into humiliating submission would not work. The APC/Buhari campaign is now a people’s movement. The more they try to rubbish it, the more popular we are with the populace.

“We are not shadow-chasers or moonwalkers. The APC is concerned mainly with the lack of unity and security in Nigeria; plus the growing decimation of lives, property and territory of our great country due to preventable insurgency; the slumbering economy; decaying educational system; absence of jobs; poor public health; and the cancerous institutionalisation of corruption in our national life. You can’t fool the people all the time. Nigerians will vote out their oppressors come February 14.”

its good.they can debate themselves,it will not add anything to the APC.

  • aabello

What a wonderful move by APC ! Let’s leave the pro-government media outlets to debate in favor of their pay-masters, we are not party to it .

    • kudirat

Shameless APC and Buhari’s e-rat like you, hide your face in shame. Your so called presidential candidate can not face a simple debate. He is afraid they will ask him questions like his boys Boko haram, Certificate, obedience to the rule of law, his plans for the country in terms of economic programmes which he can not answer.

  • Henry

Very strong, intelligent, forthright and ideological position APC taken there!! You dont dignify the platforms and apparatuses that your opposition has callously used against you with any iota of attention. And come to think of it, these debates can only be popular and have desired effect if APC partakes in them. But that will never happen because we cannot add credibility to the charade and useless arrangements made by PDP apologists. APC will campain to Nigerians from door-to-door. Whatever Nigerians want to air on the TV debate will be told to them in their various locations. After all, APC is the only party campaigning, PDP has only been embarking on a campaign of calumny… The battle continues

    • PROF

      Buhari is afraid ! hahahaha

    • kudirat

But thesame channels and media you use for your campaigns. You APC and Buhari’s e-rats should hide your face in shame instead of giving Nigerians excuses that the so called person that is seeking for their vote can not honour simple debate.

  • bootypoppin

Good move. These debates should be neutral…its far from it as it seems

  • shegxy

Good, they have just tasted part of their dose

  • dd

I am not surprised. I know APC will find all avenue to run away even though is Tinubu that set the question. How can someone who does not even have primary school certificate know anything about any question in life.

    • Naija

Did gej come for debate in 2011.That debate was organised by independent media then.No serious candidate will attend this kangaroo debate or talking show. Were u not alive then when gej ran away and didn’t apologized for Nigerian.APC tried by informing us the reason for their boycott

  • Otile

Oputa Panel comes to mind. In what language do you expect Mohamed Buhari to debate? Ba Turenci, boko haram ne.

    • PROF

Buhari is scared .he said he will stafvilize gloval oye fpump frize. Chei buhari sun mutu

    • TRUTH MASTER

If Buhari speaks no word of English, he will still be our President. The leaders of some great countries don’t even speak publicly in English: Russia, Germany, Italy. The Netherlands…….Who cares?

      • Are you not ashamed of your comments that you want a President who cannot speak good English in this 21st century? In the countries you listed Russia, Germany, Italy, English Language is not their National Language, they have their various national languages and they speak them fluently but our national language is English yet your presidential candidate cannot speak English well. I pity all APC fans. Moreover, he wants to avoid questions about his certificate!!!!!!!!!!!

      • kudirat

You don’t know what you’re saying. Do you think Nigeria is your backward village that hasn’t produced any graduate? If Buhari is your standard, it is not we nigerians standard.

        • TRUTH MASTER

I need no lesson on the importance of education from people whose supposedly high degrees have not translated to high cognitive capacity. That’s why they say the hood does not make the monk. I do hope you are educated enough to understand that, or are you like your hero: High degree, low cognitive capacity?

          • kudirat

Rome was not built in a day, it is a gradual process to heal the land your criminal sponsors damaged before disguising to continue their work in their Associations of Past Criminals.

          • TRUTH MASTER

Your own Rome was never built! Stop hiding under cliches to cover incompetence, cluelessness and dishonesty – the hallmarks of your hero!

          • kudirat

Well GEJ never said he is a magician, tell your sponsors to stop distracting his governance with their insurgency. I believe Nigeria will be better soon and his second tenure will mark the continuity of his good work. God bless Nigeria, Nigerians and Long live the Moses of our time who will take us to the promise land, GEJ till 2019!

          • TRUTH MASTER

The same well-worn argument that landed us where we are under an incompetent and clueless leadership. If there is fire on your roof, do you ask who lit it or first put it off? Arguments like yours trivialize leadership.

          • kudirat

Well you might be right but I know if you’re given the same opportunity, you would do worst. We are quick to judge when we are not at the receiving end, but God that see the heart knows the heart of Man. You too have failed as a follower, becos as a good follower, we are meant to pray and support people in authority not to condemn them. If you can’t do your part as a faithful follower, then how can you be trusted with leadership. Pray for those in authority and leave the rest to God cos it takes only God to change the heart of Man.

          • TRUTH MASTER

I will NEVER support a man who got a huge responsibility but failed to live up to it because of sheer cluelessness and incompetence. I will NEVER pray for a man whose bad leadership led to the deaths of many job seekers, after they were extorted by the same government. All I will do is to use my vote against such a leader. As for you, continue to pray for Jonathan to continue as a leader – in your community!

          • kudirat

Then you don’t want to leave the past where you are, things are changing and by God’s grace it can only get better. Don’t condemn a man that knew nothing about an event just becos he is in power, Tinubu and the whole Association of Past Criminals have done worst. God will heal Nigeria, but I don’t see him using a Buhari who openly said an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on my hausa brothers. Abi are you not aware of his plans to legalise sharia all over nigeria? Be wise bro and if you ask for change, ask for positive change.

  • victo amadi

In 2011 Jonathan did not attempt to go to the debate, then why is it most for the APC to go? I saw the documentary what catch my attention was The Nigerian airways that was stationed to bring back Umaru Dikko, pls people of then General Buhari was able to maintain the use of Nigerian airways now were is the aeroplane? In fact were are cadavers of the planes?

    • kudirat

Ask your so called obasanjo and the criminals now in APC. Your sponsors should answer that question.

  • Tell the truth and be free. APC is afraid bcos Buhari cannot speak good English -he will himself there. They are also afraid bcos Buhari will be asked about his original sch certificate which he does not have. BUHARI SHOW UR WAEC CERTIFICATE!!!!!!!!!!!

    • yakubu Adejo

If not that you have the memory of a toddler you should have known that Buhari participated in debates in the past. Sheepishly following line of argument of public looters like FFK that have all to lose should GMB wins. Maybe you are one way or the other engage in stealing too.

      • kudirat

Then things are not the way it is now, Nigerians were been blinded by the fact that they suffered from military rule. Nigerians are wiser now and know that he is only a demon in disguise. PLEASE instead of you people wasting your time on this topic save that energy in helping your so called Mr integrity to find his lost CERTIFICATE.

  • walejohnson

Well said APCPCO. Let them organise the interview the President and ask him why is he asking for another term in office and for him to tell us what he is going to do differently if elected.

  • Adolph Ugoo

This is not suprising bcos I don’t expect a person without WAEC to have anything meaningful in his brain 2 contribute in such intellectual debate…I beg, I no mention anybody name o!!!

    • shashi

ALL WE KNOW IS we are not going to the debate where NTA and AIT is organizing.WE UNDERSTAND ALL THE RUBBISH IN THE GAME

  • Adolph Ugoo

This confirms that Buhari has nothing to offer, being pushed by cabals as a political dummy or decoy to get massive support from his fanatical followers, this is the beginning of failbuhari 14 2015

    • TRUTH MASTER

He has nothing to prove to those who will never see any good in whatever he does anyway. So let GEJ go and debate himself. We know who our votes will go to!

      • kudirat

You’re so backward, I wonder the kind of past you come from. How can he win votes when he can not defend what he plans to do? You’re just blinded with the peanuts you’re getting that it is affecting your sense of reasoning. Well since you think he doesn’t owe Nigerians anything, let him as well go and vote for him self abi u think it is only you and your follow e-rat’s votes that will put him in power. I hope Nigerian now see how you people reason, just backward and that is one thing we don’t want in this country.

        • TRUTH MASTER

How did Jonathan win votes when he boycotted the debate in 2011? As if folks like you even understand the meaning of debate. While I don’t see anything wrong in debates, I think the platform is faulty. Those behind the debate are shamefully pro-GEJ and pro-PDP. Let them debate themselves

          • kudirat

Shameless lies master, well then there was no issues of Certificate and Boko haram, Nigerians want to hear from him tell him to. Come out for the debate if he is man enough.

          • TRUTH MASTER

Did Jonathan boycott the presidential debate in 2011? Did heavens fall? Did he fulfill his promises to Nigeria. Does he deserve a second term? These are the issues, not you abusive and rambling retort.

          • kudirat

Atleast as I said earlier he wasn’t accused of not having a certificate, there where no pressing issues he needed to address. If anyone should be talking of boycotting the debate, I think it is jonathan as you blind buhari and APC e-rats have refused to see anything good in his administration. At least it is an opportunity to avoid questions, but he has no skeleton in his cupboard so he is standing up for the debate and challenging your so call Mr integrity to do thesame.

          • TRUTH MASTER

It is better not to have a certificate than to have a PhD and not be able to even articulate one’s vision. Trust me!

          • kudirat

Then you are a waste to the educational field which educated you, how can you have a vision when you are not educated to understand what such vision entails. You are blinded by your short sightedness. Well you’re left to your illiterate views but hope by the time you realise the truth, it wouldn’t be too late.

  • Wähala

APC should boycott any land mine debates because they’re nothing but cheap strategy sessions to ridicule and rubbish the person of Buhari rather than issued-based mind robbing. The only condition Buhari should be made available to a face-off with President Dumbo is if the candidates will field questions directly from Nigerians and not from any Dumbo-ordained panel of PDP stooges. Better still, let the campaigns make available a brief Q&A sessions between the candidates and the electorate during their rally stops, that will be more direct and fruitful from more Nigerians across the country. There is no guarantee that these pro-Dumbo panels will not sneak the questions to JoDumbo (Expo) which would give him undue advantage. Rather than boycott, let them debate directly with ordinary Nigerians as that would provide a more scientific data based on the mood of the nation going into the elections.

    • Otile

      Don’t forget to vote oo.

WASC Certificate: Did Buhari Lie Under Oath To The INEC?

      Yes (60%, 1,506 Votes)

      No (29%, 734 Votes)

      I don’t Care (10%, 251 Votes)

      Total Voters: 2,491

    • warry

Okay let channels TV organize it. Your dunce will be floored anywhere, any day by GEJ.

  • Nwaogalanya Omekannay

Thank God that it’s ver clear now that GMB is affraid of speaking to fellow Nigeria on the media.
    1. This is because of his illitracy
    2. This is because he lacks vission and courage and the fortitude to speak to speak to nigerias
    3. This is because all his lies are very visible
    4. This is because he will not be given room to hear from or converse with his challatant supporter in the person of Amechi Tinubu and others
    5. This is because he’s an already disgraced fellow over the. Issue of certificate which he got non. A vote for PDP is a vote for change and continuity in good governance

    • TRUTH MASTER

Who is afraid of elections? Who is sponsoring court cases to sabotage the polls, a la ABN? Please be truthful

  • How can Buhari be Mr Integrity when he swore in an affidavit in the court that his original sch certificate is with the Army now the Army said it is a lie that they don’t have his certificates and Buhari wants to be the President of Nigeria. I had earlier that he gave empty promise, I will fight corruption, Is lying in affidavit not a huge corruption???????

    • jogobonito

Accursed lowlifer…..is that what this title is all about

We are talking about Debates,a failure like you is talking other things…….

I thought some group of I-NEVER-CHOP lawyers are now in court over certificate issue…….why not allow the law to take it course and not seek to bore us with your sorrow-filled existence

      • kudirat

APC e-rat like you, must you attack anybody that says anything true against your sponsor? He is saying what he feels about the situation of things in the country, must you shut him up? Well it is not a new thing with APC lead government, they don’t want freedom of speach rather they encourage intimidation and bias government.

    • Naija

Get fact straight. The same army said on Jan 4 that they have it with them.what has transpired btw Jan 4th and Jan 21st. Colonel Laleye was transferred to another dept after telling us that they don’t have the certificate with them again.
My 2 years baby can understand d game.

      • kudirat

I wonder when they started keeping people’s certificate, are your employers with the originals of your certificate? Is Nigeria Army now the banks that keep people’s valuables? Tell your Boko haram sponsors they should repackage their candidate cos this one is full of shit.

  • Jaafar

i am excited about the APC decision to boycott this Charade called “presidential debate”. it is organized and stage managed by the PDP. i am of the opinion that APC has taken the best decision.

  • jogobonito

    I support this decision wholeheartedly

It would be useless attending a debate organised by very biased media organisation including AIT which sought to taunt Buhari with the death of his wife and daughter

In 2011,while Buhari,Ribadu and Shekarau attended a debate organised by a neutral body NN24,Jonothing was conspicously absent without any apologies to the 3 gentlemen…..only to engage in a Monologue with D-Banj

There are few neutral media organisations around amongst whom is CHANNELS which i am aware have organised a debate too……..Buhari should attend that one but NEVER any one organised by BON/AIT/NTA/FRCN

  • shashi

Supported to the fullest.AFTERALL ITS THE SAME NTA AND AIT THAT IS AIRING THE NONSENSE ADVERTORIALS

    • PROF

You see why its not good not to attend school and have a certificate 🙂 Every thin is not about “kwaraptian’

  • Lenton Isokariari

It’s a pity that APC is pulling out of this all – important political debate. How Nigerians can truly access the capabilities of the major presidential aspirants have been botched . Whatever the avalanche of reasons APC might advance for turning down this golden opportunity to showcase their presidential candidate, the fact remains that Rtd General Buhari has not given an insight into how some of teething problems can be solved.
Will APC leadership blame the PDP – led government for capitalising on this sudden u – turn? To me, it’s not a wise decision !

    • Sunmonu Tiamiyu

It is indeed a wise one. The debate is being organised majorly by NTA & AIT who have been in the business of puling the APC down. Organisation that in this category do not need to show open bias towards a particular candidate. Let some credible media houses organise it and see if APC will not attend

  • Yakubu2012

I love the decision taken by APC, it will rescue GMB from grammatical, intellectual, economic, health and political suicide.

    • Otile

Why not let Buhari be himself. Why not allow him to go there and display his own kind of English and dazzle the world?

Najeriya has been put to ridicule by this imbecile born to rule, with bloated ideal of himself.

    • blueeyedkitten

GMB has participated before now. the APC has a genuine case here; and i fully understood the their reasons for taking this action. however i’d like to tell them to cooloo temper, and participate. anyways, between GEJ and GMB, we already know who is a dondeee.

  • Otile

This is what I hate about born to rule, see how a whole general has brought himself so low as to forge a low-level certificate and swore a false affidavit to make himself credible.

This false certificate debacle has damaged what is left of Buhari’s dignity. Wallahi

    • jogobonito

      You trolls are a band of woe-betided never-do-wellas……a n wi’ru,o n wi’ruu

we are talking debates, you are mouthing off on silly nothingness……Is nt the case no more in court? why not allow the court to do its work

    • blueeyedkitten

may God save you from your self. the way you’re going, you’d soon commit suicide.

      • kudirat

As you have intended to commit suicide cos that is the only language you and your sponsors understand, violent. God has started exposing you all and the wrath of God will soon fall mightyly on you all shameless buhari’s e-rats.

        • blueeyedkitten

BUSY BODY! WHO FOLLOW YOU TALK?

    • jyde

Otile, are you still championing the false propaganda of FFK? Buhari’s results were released through his school, the Army and Cambridge and they all say the same thing? Cambridge WASC even offered Yoruba Hausa and Ibo in 1958 and some mischief are claiming Hausa was not offered in 1961. Sad!

      • kudirat

This is not the topic at hand Mr APC and Buhari’s e-rat, tell your so called Mr integrity to come out for the debate, Nigerians want to ask him some vital questions that would affect their lives for the next 4 years. God has started exposing you all and he will continue to expose you all.

  • 247don007

Yes it is a good decision because it candidate can not stand GEJ in a presidential debate. This is only an alibi for the party to dodge public scrutiny….dazzol!!! SHAMEFUL CHANGE

  • Otun

Fantastic what a good decision , we are not fools. Bias debates!!!!

    • kudirat

Hide your head and that of your sponsors in shame, ordinary debate your guy is creating excuses, is this how you intend to rule this nation? I mean your Mr integrity without a certificate. Olodo like am, wouldn’t he go and enjoy his ill gotten pension he got from false pretence.

  • kudirat

Mr integrity without a certificate doesn’t have what it takes for a national debate, he might loose his temper when asked about critical issues and that of his certificate, so the best way to avoid such is to create an excuse. This APC people are trying to be smart, is this what Nigerians want as a leader? My guess is likewise yours.

  • Es3

There is no other reason that APC is running away from a LIVE TV debate other than the realistic fear of Buhari not being able to explain how he intends to fight corruption, build the economy and fulfill all that he goes around promising about???!

Nigerians are not interested on “I will do this and that” without convincingly telling us how he intends to achieve them?!!! He can only but can’t hide from February 14th when Nigerians will hand him a resounding 4th defeat in series!!!

  • dan

I have always known that APC will want to avoid a debate to escape the monumental embarrassment that can befall them with Buhari talking out of point. He almost disgraced himself and his party APC at the recently held No Violence Agreement facilitated by Emeka Anyoku.

  • kudirat

All APC e-rats wouldn’t you tell your so called Mr integrity and sponsors that Nigerians want to hear from them and also know how he will defend all his promises and how he will make their lives better, on like the script written by Tinubu and all the criminals in APC for him to reharse before going for campaigns. Nigerians you now see who you want to give your precious votes, be wise!

  • onyenze

Is buhari not a Nigerian which collectively owned NTA and BON?you must participate let the whole Nigerian electorate see how PDP are demeaning you.Let the people be your judge. You must participate and take our questions period.Certificate saga is not over yet and the only avenue you can prove to us that your integrity is public debate
now you want to decline na lie……..

  • Bayo Ola

Smart decision by the APC. Let Jonathan debate himself. These weak institutions of state might have provided him with a copy of the questions ahead of debate. There is no point dignifying them with your attendance. But a lesson must be learnt in all these charades: One, the APC government must, if it eventually forms the government on May 29 (insha Jesus), begins a process to strengthen all government institutions. This is in the interest of APC. All state instructions must be empowered to function independently. This will dissuade future Marilyn Orgar from destroying our institutions. These types of occupants of state institutions must be tamed proactively. You can be in the government today but find yourself in the opposition tomorrow. Yar Adua cabal used state instruments to harass the then VP Goodluck Jonathan. The Save Nigeria Group saved him from the harassment, yet same Jonathan is using state instruments to harass opposition. If power changes hands, the APC must not be tempted to use the state instruments for revenge purposes, but follow due process. Every conceited effort must be made to make these institutions (Police, Army, SSS, NTA, etc.) stronger than they are at the moment. It is in the interest of the elites to unite and do this to avoid this type of national embarrassment in the future. If APC is not selfish, provided it forms the next government, it will set a stage for a brighter future. If it becomes selfish, its selfishness will come back to back hunt it one day. What goes around comes around.

  • Spoken word

Sai Buhari. PDP your propaganda will fail. All the money you are spending derogating the person of Buhari is just enriching the media owners.

    • kudirat

You’re a cursed spoken word, hide your corrupt, Boko haram e-rat head in shame. You can’t be more than your sponsors.

      • Spoken word

it is easy to make fun of boko haram here. Boko Haram has killed real Nigerians and people like you think its a joke and something to make fun of. May the lives of those killed by Boko Haram rest in peace and the kidnapped girls of Chibok be found alive by God’s grace.

        • kudirat

Stop sounding remorseful, you and your sponsors have killed a lot of innocent people and God will bring his judgement on you all. You are part of them, cos anyone that sells his conscience Becos of cheap naira notes and support evil is part of that evil. You are part of that evil and that evil will hunt you all the days of your life.

          • Spoken word

You mean you are okay with the killings.you don’t care that your fellow citizens are being killed.what a callous human being you are.

          • kudirat

God will surely bring you all to judgement. All those innocent bloods may they find eternal rest and may their blood keep on hunting you people until you confess.

          • Nife

I want to believe the 50 thousand naira is at work, it is only for two months you know. It would soon finish and back to square one you are

          • kudirat

Was that the amount you were paid? Na wa o, so you can be this cheap. Well I can pay you that amount 20times to refund them so you can start saying the truth, cos I know your conscience is really judging you and you want out but becos you have spent the money that is why you’re still hanging on.

  • onyenze

We Nigerian s will not take this excuse any more.Buhari must attend the debate.let APC come with their own media out let.Any where in the world a public debate is a common practice so why the flimsy excuse of PDP that and not.We will take this nonsense enough is enough from affidavit to military board from there to katsina state school from there to cambridge and finally filthy paper as certificate,Are you kidding us or what?Buhari must attend this debate or let APC organize one and invite PDP to participate.candidate can participate in more than one debate before proper election to clear issues before the electorate what is wrong with that. Please no excuse

    • Bidemi Lukman

Why did GEJ failed to attend 2011 presidential debate.

      • onyenze

Same man that did not show now want to show with same man that claim that wants to debate him .what is wrong with that.Buhari honor this debate period

        • Bidemi Lukman

Same Buahri that failed to show up for debate now will show up in 2019 for re-election

    • Jummai

Make him! Not even the Constitution has made it a condition for contesting the seat of the President, you moronic illiterate!

      • onyenze

same way constitution did not make it compulsory for him to have a common school certificate and rose to the rank of general and head of state.what a shame.buhari must debate his opponent period.Lai mohammed says he praying for just opportunity why sudden change of mind ok no more idiagbo to do the job for him.whata sad moment for APC.Buhari must appear before Nigerians and defend his manifesto and proffer solution to the problems he alleged to have taken over Nigeria especially insurgency he started how he intends to stop it.we want to know all these things before he loose election

  • TRUTH MASTER

APC needs no meaningless debate to win the hearts and minds of Nigerians. Candidate Jonathan boycotted the debate pre-2011 elections and still won, as the people latched on to meaningless sentiments to vote in a man whose only qualification, sans paper certificate, for office is good luck.

Now, Nigerians know better and have made their choice known. Let the organisers debate with GEJ and whoever is unfortunate to attend the debate!

WAEC Says It Has No Records On Buhari CERTIFICATE.
The West African Examination Council headquarters [located in Ghana] has disowned General Mohammed Buhari’s claim that he had sat for WAEC examination in 1961.
The Lies Of Cambridge writing any letter has been finally put to Shame.

      • TRUTH MASTER

Even if all Buhari has is his primary school leaving certificate, he qualifies to run (Considering his service in the military). And I will be proud of him as my President….more than your hero with PhD? Go and read the back page of today’s (29Jan) PUNCH and see how ‘SIC’ were inserted into his speech at the Winner’s Chapel at Ota last Sunday. Do you know the meaning of ‘SIC’? Paper certificates helped to bring us to this sorry pass.

      • TRUTH MASTER

That issue is dead and buried. Next!

  • Gideon Orkar

They don’t want to participate because Buhari cannot speak English and won’t be able to answer questions about his certificate. A coward General running from common debate!

    • tyson

HAVE U EVER HEARD HIM SPEAK ABOUT HIS GWABMENT–B4 AND HIS SABINKATE—-OR IBO STATE———-INSTEAD OF IMO STATE–

      • ModyHH

What is your problem? Why the stress? Is Imo state not an igbo state?
For Buhari all that is Eastern Nigeria and any state there is Igbo state because the Igbos always seek to dominate others!

      • Gideon Orkar

Na turenci ba certipicate. They should tell Buhari they debate will be in Hausa or Fulfude and he will jump at it!

  • kudirat

Buhari has not won but his supporters have commenced the killing, maiming, blocking of chart accounts and attacks on his critics. He finds it too big to come for a national debate rather his e-rats are justifying this. A man that lied to Nigerians about his certificate and has caused Nigerians so much pain with his Boko haram boys. So what would happen if he was the president? Nigerians vote wisely. Vote for freedom, vote for GEJ.

Jonathan Must Leave By All Means: And Why Opposition Leaders Are Crying Loud. – Some of the decision of President Goodluck Jonathan has not gone down well with some of leaders and Moneybags of APC, as he closed some of their sources of defrauding Nigeria.

    READ AND BE WISE.
1] Majority of the Oil Blocks license in Nigeria will be expiring in few months and many of them are scared that President Jonathan might not renew their licence. They want to him out by all means to retain the Oil blocks license.

2] They were hurt them President Jonathan ended their subsidy fraud. Govt reduced the payment from N1.4Trillion in 2011 to less than N400Billion in 2013 and yet their is no scarcity of Fuel in the last 3 years.

3] Jonathan sold off NEPA and ended their fraudulent NEPA contracts. Now local and International companies are building their power plants to stabilize Power. They will not use any NEPA staff to put SALT on our Power plants again to put everyone in darkness.

4] Jonathan removed 57,000 ghost workers and 43,756 Ghost Pensioners from civil service and reduce their wealth. These rogues are using their wealth to pay newspapers, Online media blogs to be lying and sharing propaganda against the President. The Ignorants joined them to shout CHANGE. Are they changing to re-employ the removed Ghost workers or the Pensioners. Be warned about the CHANGE they want you to Vote For. CHIDI

    • kudirat

Na wa o! Thank you sir for educating me on this, now I know the reason of their desperate move to gain power by all means and Tinubu’s interest in all this, he wants to invest in oil blocks ole thief like him. God will bring all of them to judgement.

    • Igboboy

      Oga Tyson where the light?

  • Wetin Naija

I would have suggested that a credible organization conduct the debate. Jonathan and PDP as the ruling party have polluted the different governmental agencies. Unfortunately politicians and political appointees have lost integrity and respect in Nigeria

    • kudirat

Just like your so called Mr integrity has lost his integrity. Abeg find another topic and hide your head in shame, tell your sponsors to encourage your Mr integrity to come out for a debate we might forget his certificate if he can address us in the debate.

    • etties

Yes we can also bring interpreter, so that they can interpret it for him in Hausa language, if the grammar is too big.

  • Wetin Naija

Jonathan e-rats like Tyson, Kudirat and many more have flood this site. What a shame to receive money to support what is wrong. Think of the future

    • kudirat

What is wrong Buhari’s e-rat, that your sponsor has refused to honor the call of Nigerians to come for a debate? You buhari’s e-rats amaze me, you all have sold your conscience and can’t say the truth even at the face of the truth, you just look for an excuse to encourage corruption. Nigerians this is a slap to us, Vote wisely.

  • Change for the Worse

To cut a long story short, APC is upset Bokohari would not be allowed to speak in Hausa or Fulfulde (Fulani) during the debate.

    • Tatu

@ least he can speak Hausa and Fulfulde fluently in addition to others you do not even know. I however dare you to speak a whole sentence in your language! I pray we meet in China, France or any Arab country, then I’ll tell ou who the illiterate is!

  • Lekan

I have seen people’s comment and I will like to say everybody has right to his /her own opinion. If APC boycotted the DEBATE does not mean that GMB is not qualify or not competent to rule this country. He has ruled this country before as well as headed the Petroleum Trust Fund. He has been minister in this country sometime, what will now be his fear to come and face debate of this kind. Although all these has nothing to do with what he will come and tell Nigerians on how he wants to achieve all his manifesto and agenda. The truth is that not in this kind of environment where we found ourselves. We have been having election in this country, but this is the first time we will be having this kind of stupidity from the supporters of rulling party. Because why should we be praying for someone to die? what happiness are we going to derive from someone that lost his daughter and mother? All these should not be part of campaign for jonathan. If all these kind of things is going on and we want such candidate to come for a debate, it is better to do away with such programme to avoid problem. The organisers of the Debate are working for jonathan, if GMB cough alone during the cause of debate, they will give it meaning. I know quite right that we have many reasonable people in this country that will ask a very good questions that will make us move forward in this country, but like what happened when AIT organised on-line voting for the two contenders, whereby AIT allowed multiple vote to go to jonathan, before those reasonable and intelligent Nigerians I just talk about detected the fraud. Is it not the same AIT that is among the organiser of the debate? Or is it NTA we want to talk about that will not make things worse. I am not begging anybody to vote for Change, we are all free to vote for candidate of our choice, but we should realise that someone that did nothing in that last six years cannot make this country to move forward. APC has good reasons to boycott the debate and anybody that doesn’t feel comfortable can decide otherwise to vote in jonathan with his ph.d that has nothing to show for it. Thanks.

These are the samples of English Dr GEJ PHD will blow during the debate.

“Leave us who are half dead to bury the dead.”

“How much did Jim Nwobodo stole? Money not up to the price of a peugeot and Buhari send him to jail for 301 years. Is that good enough?”

    • kudirat

At least he will do better than your blood tasty, Mr integrity without a certificate and fulani dictator.

      • Jack

Do better where? You are still in the dark kudirat, wake up from your slumber and face reality. Gej will never trounce Buhari in any debate, Buhari is well known, the former head of state, who ruled with discipline, not the ole you have their now. Join the change train or be crushed!

        • onyenze

Discipline without school certificate.where is the discipline?Abeg let him debate his opponent if buhari is what he claimed to be.No certificate,No debate what a shame mr jack?Buhari must appear for the debate if not he is clueless old man with old brain.

        • kudirat

Now I know you don’t even know what is change and what your candidate stands for, why is he then avoiding the debate if he knows he stand a chance? This is the only opportunity he has to sell himself to the nation. If he doesn’t want the organisers, he can stage his own with his choice TV station and sponsored station like channels. If your sponsor is ready, let him call for a debate in any TV station and invite GEJ I know he is ready anytime any where. That is how a responsible government should be not giving excuses. GEJ till 2019, no shaking.

Kudirat don’t be deceived by these liars. Pls read below.
All Progressives Congress – APC wrote:

Documentary: The Lies Of AIT/GEJ by Barcanista from Nairaland

        AIT/GEJ Lied To Nigerians

        1. Fela NEVER mentioned Buhari in $N2.8B scandal. He mentioned OBJ. AIT edited that part off.

        2. Buhari did not expel Ghanians from Nigeria. Shagari of the NPN did. AIT made a FALSE assertion.

        3. Gloria Okon did not disappear under Buhari it was under IBB and Dele Giwa was murdered for it.

        4. GEJ went so low to bring Buhari’s daughters into politics. Can one use Dame’s inability to bear a child as a campaign issue?

        5. Fela’s mother the GREAT Funmilayo Kuti died after OBJ Kalakuta in 1978 Buhari came into power in 1984.

        6. All Politicians that was sentenced to prison by the 1984 Military Tribunal were found to either enrich themselves with public funds or diverted public funds. Non were convicted by fiat

        7. GEJ and AIT went after Buhari ’s late wife and daughter. How low and desperate can Jonathan get?

        8. AIT/GEJ alleged that Buhari has been losing since 1999. This is a lie. Buhari’s first shot was in 2003. In 1999 Chief Olu Falae of ANPP/AD contested against Obj.

        9. AIT/GEJ criticised Buhari for Heading PTF Board. Whereas, PTF is till date the most successful parastatal ever in Nigeria. Through PTF, the Amazon Dora Akunyili was known.

Vote for GMB/APC for Change in Nigeria. PDP propaganda is distasteful and obscene. Should be condemned by all.

The AIT documentary on Buhari will not make him less popular. President Jonathan is still playing catch up…

How much were you paid for this mis-information? Well most of the properties in Ikoyi and Victoria Island which is owned by your national party head, where did he get all that wealth from if not from the stolen money he got from lagos as a governor. Buhari can not rule nigeria again, is he the only one that can fix Nigeria, all his mates are statemen now. If he wants power by all means let him become an emir atleast he can rule till he meet his creator. GEJ till 2019.

Can’t you make statements that are understandable? Well your just like your sponsor Mr Integrity without a certificate. Advice buhari to come for a debate that is the point here.APC has no reason whatsoever to decline a political debate for the interest of our dear nation.W ill we go to court to get an injunction to get him to debate his opponent.i don,t get it.This is a common practice all over the world ,please tell buhari to come for a debate so that we can test his aging brain at 73.why is a student afraid exam when he knows that exams will test his ability to learn and understand what he read.I tire for APC and this nonsense defence

      • bib

Did you read the reasons given for his refusal? He participated in 2011 debates while GEJ declined with no excuses. You see those quotations i gave above are the “Phd” English being blown in his campaign tours. GMB too has been going on campaign tours. Has anybody faulted his war college English?

BREAKING NEWS! BREAKING NEWS!! BREAKING NEWS!!!

Nigerian Masses and Nigerians in diaspora who voted against ex-military
president, BUHARI, in presidential elections in 2003, 2007 and 2011 have
already adduced the following reasons behind their votes against BUHARI. They
have insisted that nothing has changed in the life of Ex-Military Dictator(
Buhari) and as such have resolutely decided to go into election on Feb., 14
Presidential Election to demonstrate their views and to send Buhari to a
    perceptual political retirement.

They spoken in harsh tones to our correspondent denouncing Buhari in all
ramifications . According to them, “below are the reasons we voted against
Buhari in the past elections and why we are prepared to VOTE against him
again this Feb., 14 Nigerian Presidential elections”. Reasons:

EX-MILITARY DICTATOR, MUHAMMED BUHARI SHOULD EXIT POLITICS: MY REASONS-

    No1.

NIGERIAN STUDENTS. Remember the person who abolished feeding in

tertiary institutions in 1984?. Buhari as a military Dictator then had

no agenda for Nigerian Students, neither does he and his rag tag

    coalition this time.

    Vote to protect our Students.

SAY NO TO BUHARI, SAY NO TO APC

    Nigeria First Project

    No2

NIGERIAN WOMEN. How many Women were in Buhari’s Cabinet as Military

Head of State? NONE. Buhari has no respect for the dignity of women and

regards them as insignificant in national development. That is why he

recklessly said recently that he will abolish the office of the First

Lady if he is elected. Women, who today are at the commanding heights of

Nigeria’s political economy will have no rallying point in a Buhari

    Government.

    Vote to protect our Women.

SAY NO TO BUHARI, SAY NO TO APC

    No3

THE NIGERIAN PRESS. Do we want to risk the freedom of Expression we

currently enjoy?. Hear Gen Buhari’s vow in 1984 when asked about press

freedom ” I will tamper with that”. To match words with Action (after

all, Buhari claims to be a man of his words) he enacted Decree 20 and

jailed Journalists Nduka Irabor and Tunde Thompson. Many Nigerians were

detained without trial under his draconian Decree No 2. Can we afford

to go back to the dark ages?

SAY NO TO BUHARI, SAY NO TO APC

    No. 4

The NIGERIAN POLITICAL CLASS. If you think that the current attempt to

whitewash General Buhari and give him a human face will make him abandon

his old habits, we will be in for a rude shock. To him, every

politician is a thief except himself. This kind of messianic delusion

has no place in contemporary Nigeria. Buhari looks at everyone with

contempt and prejudice. His iron fisted misrule lead to the premature

deaths of political leaders across the country. Let us save our emerging

leaders and protect them from a rampaging despot.

Say NO TO BUHARI, SAY NO TO APC

CIVIL SOCIETY. Buhari’s Government enacted laws with retroactive

effects. Nigerians were given punishments that were nonexistent in

previous laws at the time the offences were committed! How else can we

define gross violation of human rights? Buhari enacted and recklessly

applied Decree 2 otherwise known as Detention of Persons without trial

    Decree.

    He never condones dialogue.

CATTLE REARERS. To some Nigerians, General Buhari is a proud Fulani man

who will protect them when he gets to power! How wrong! Under General

Buhari, the obnoxious Jangali Tax system was introduced and this brought

untold hardships to Fulani Cattle Rearers and frustrated most of them

out of business. A good friend they say is better than a wicked brother.

The current effort to create grazing reserves for cattle Rearers must

be supported. Buhari will bring back Jangali.

INVESTORS/ BUSINESS COMMUNITY. General Buhari does not believe in the

principle of a private sector driven economy. He is still ensconced in

the worn out and obsolete practices of a state monopoly control of the

economy. All the gains of the current reforms which have made Nigeria

the biggest investment destination in Africa will be reversed.

Should we be led back to Egypt?

TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS. General Buhari as Military Head of State

Bayero and Oba Okunade Sijuwade from office for embarking on private

SAY NO TO BUHARI, SAY NO TO APC

    No. 9

THE LEGISLATURE AND THE JUDICIARY. General Buhari does not believe in

the concept of Separation of Powers. Being from a dictatorial

background, he lacks the temperament to engage in dialogue and tolerate

opposing views. That is how he influenced the dispensation of justice in

his regime. From his pronouncements and carriage, he has learnt nothing

and will attempt to weaken the other arms of government. SAY NO TO

    THE

NIGERIAN PEOPLE. General Buhari seems disconnected with the norms of

politics in his actions and his words. His immensely divisive persona is

manifest in his recent pronouncements. In an interview he granted to

weekly Trust recently, he referred to Former Presidents Olusegun

Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida as his “Enemies”. Nigerians deserve a

President who is a unifier, not one who has a penchant for collecting

enemies. A Nigeria President should NEVER HAVE AN ENEMY.

SAY NO TO BUHARI, SAY NO TO APC

NIGERIAN PEOPLE. Buhari and his APC image launders have continued to

present themselves to Nigerians as people who are going to fight

corruption when voted into power –

    Buhari whose ADC, Major Ojokolo

escorted 53 suitcases of money into this Nigeria in 1984 even when he, Buhari had

  • What an interesting excuse to give!!

Rather than Buhari and APC coming out to tell Nigerians why their Presidential Candidate deserve to be voted into office, they are playing on it by giving unnecessary rhetorics of bias as a reason for boycotting this all important Debate.

To be honest, I don’t think Buhari and APC are serious because they know that their candidate will disappoint them by not knowing what to answer to the questions.
This is just being smart in the wrong way..

    • Wähala

      Voodoo Princess…
Did you pause to consider their reasons or are you commenting by looking at the crystal ball? Why are PDP apologists organizing it and taking APC ads off the air in their TV stations? Do you honestly believe they won’t give Dumbo the questions fore-debate having watched his spontaneous reactions to Christine Amanpour and that infamous CNN interview? Are you not curious as to why he’s suddenly interested in debates that he dodged last time, debating DeBanj rather than face real issues? Forget it! APC is not walking into a cheap landmine, it is too obvious there’s a lynch mob at the studios waiting to embarrass Gen. Buhari for lowly political dividends for PDP. Go-sitdon!

      • Jack

Did you bother to learn or hear? The alternative approach has been on the ground for weeks, you were busy chasing shadows, looking for election postponement, searching for a certificate thats already there, talking about buharis wife not being nigerian, asking whether Buhari goes to toilet or not..trivialities and senseless searches. Buhari will never stand on same platform as a former ND militant deceiving us with a ph.d issued by militants,to militants and for the use of militancy!

And i guess those non hard questions should be thrown to both candidates so why the evasion of the debate, after that APC can organize national debate and invite PDP candidate as well what is wrong with that?Buhari must appear for the debate period enough is enough ,Nonsense

  • Shuaibu Bola Victor

How do you expect Buhari to attend such a public debate? Buhari that just cancelled his international engagement where he was invited by a US based institute for a mere talk, but he shied away . Buhari who has not been able to address primary school pupils all through his life that you are expecting to engage in a fierce presidential debate? Wonders shall never end.
Or do you believe his claims that he has Cambridge Certificate? What he has is a forged paper. He is never qualified to engage in a public debate. Again, are you sure if Buhari is still willing to continue with his presidential ambition?
Sorry for my choice words, sir. I must say them.

    • Jack

If you are truly a yoruba man, then you are a disgrace and an imbe…….%%%cile! Go and ask your father what Awolowo did for the yorubas, and if you do not have a father, ask elders around your area. You want to join the Ijaw train, you wont be long before their conductor kick you out and you will then be crushed, but if you want life, join the train of progress and the lord will bless you..so you have a choice now till Feb 14 and oduduwa will bless you as well, forget nyamiri, some of them do not mean good for our country as exhibited over 40years ago

      • Shuaibu Bola Victor

Sentiment has nothing to do with Fact and figure. Your problems are sentiment, illiteracy and ignorance.
        But you sound hungry too.

        • Jack

This is not sentiments but emotions, emotional for unborn generation, emotions about how Nigeria has been destroyed and it takes a patriot to feel these not people like you eating the lives of your grandkids with yours. You want to talk truly about illiteracy, you first go and google what “illiteracy” means and google ignorance and compare what obtains with BH today, compare ignorance to the present economic state of nigeria, then you will understand what ignorance means..what a jerk! Yorubaman indeed!

          • Shuaibu Bola Victor

I have a strong doubt that you are a Nigerian. You are better called ethnic fanatic who is always at alert to exploit any available opportunity to the benefits of yourself interest to the detriment of Nigerians.
My happiness is that you have met your Waterloo. A fiasco.
GEJ is the popular candidate both in the North and in the South.

            GEJ till 2019.

          • Jack

NOW YOU HAVE CALLED YOURSELF, YOU HAVE CALLED YOUR NAME AND EVEN YOUR SURNAME, SO STOP USING YORUBA NAME..OLE! GEJ IS POPULAR INDEED IN THE NORTH AND SOUTH…HAHAHAHAHA..WHAT A CHEAP WAFFLER AND DAFT MUTANT TURTLE YOU ARE..A CLOWN LIKE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOUR FELLOW JESTERS..WELL YOU WILL SOON FIND OUT THAT GEJ IS NOT POPULAR IN THE NORTH. THE WATERLOO WAITING TO HAPPEN IS THE RISE AND FALL OF GEJ AND THE UNSEEN FIASCO WILL BE OBVIOUS COME FEB 2015. YOURE STILL IN THE DARK MY MAN, THERE ARE NIGERIANS CALLED BIBIRE, WE SHALL NEVER COLLECT MONEY TO VOTE AGAINST THE INTEREST OF THE UNBORN, BUT FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT SOLD YOUR SOUL, WELL YOUR FUTURE GENERATION WILL CURSE AND SPIT ON YOUR GRAVES AS I SAID EARLIER.

          • Shuaibu Bola Victor

I can see that you cherish my choice of words. Waterloo, fiasco.
            Let us face the reality.

          • Shuaibu Bola Victor

Very soon you will prove yourself wrong. Come Feb., 14, Nigerians will vote against Buhari again. Elections tribuals have been constituted and will be inaugurated very soon.

            GEJ!

  • Olalere Yusuf

Let GEJ debate with other candidates not Buhari who is the change we want. The debate panel is already biased. FeBuhari 14, 2015 Nigerian desiring real positive change should vote for Muhammadu Buhari. Change, Change, Changeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    • warry

You and your APC are a bunch of crooks. Let channels organize it

  • Ette

The organizers of this kankeroo debate are appointees and members of the corrupt PDP government, and they think they can use any debate to launder their evil image. The debate they conducted for DG of the various parties on Jan 24, 2015 was very uninteresting as the questions asked were not challenging and the speakers were not making much sense in terms of solutions to our problems. The people’s forum Enough is Enough is organizing a debate for those who want to serve the nation, let contestants prepare for this debate and not the one that the hugely compromised NEDG is touting. In any case GEJ does not need to take part in any debate as his performance in the last 6 years is all we need to assess him, and for us he has failed woefully in all fronts despite the privatization of the power sector which was done in corruption. Other presidential candidates apart from the ruling party candidate should take part in any debates apart from the one organized by PDP appointees and members.

  • Shuaibu Bola Victor

    ACT AND FIGURE ABOUT BUHARI
How do you expect Buhari to attend such a
public debate? Buhari that just cancelled his international engagement
where he was invited by a US based institute for a mere talk, but he
shied away . Buhari who has not been able to address primary school
pupils all through his life that you are expecting to engage in a fierce
presidential debate? Wonders shall never end.
    Or do you believe his
claims that he has Cambridge Certificate? What he has is a forged

What manner of Yorubaman bears Shuaib and Victor together? Yoruba knows themselves, no ND or fake igboman will come here using our name to deceive people, that will not work in Feb, if you have been given a stolen cloned PVC with a thousand naira, remember your grandkids unborn will spit on your grave

      • Shuaibu Bola Victor

BUHARI and your APC members have already been indicted by DSS. After elections, you be prosecuted accordingly. The evidence is overwhelming.

        • Jack

DSS? DSS THAT AMERICA CAUTIONED LAST WEEK? DSS THAT COULDNT ARREST MILITANTS THREATS? THIS SHOWS TO CONFIRM THAT DSS IS PART OF PDP AND YOU TALK OF INDICTMENT, APC IS INDICTED WHERE? WHAT COURT?…VICTOR, GO AND DO SOMETHING ELSE, YOU HAVE LOST THE PLOT TOTALLY, I THOUGHT YOU WERE A BIT INTELLIGENT, YOU HAVE MADE A CLOWN OF YOURSELF MAN..IGNORAMUS…HAHAHAHAHAHA

None issue. Not related to the fact in issue

          • Shuaibu Bola Victor

You will see how your APC candidate(Buhari) who has forged WASC certificate will be prosecuted in open court by the security agency.
That might become a turning point that will make you to begin credit to DSS.
            GEJ till 2019.

Has Buhari ever attended public debate?at least you just confirm that GEJ just did last time.why is Buhari always afraid to debate publicly a whole army general oh sorry idiagbo is dead he is the one that always did the job for him.he can,t stop mourning his teacher idiagbo.Nigerian army general indeed

  • SAM .A

If the same NTA, BON & privately owned AIT that grouped themselves together and is called NEDG,i.e Debate Group
With partisanship oozing out of all these media on daily basis , they can never be qualified to be a Debate Coordinator,
They are not neutral as they want us to believe. They are never men of integrity that cannot be manipulated & directed to the wish of their piper.
Therefore, if APC opt out of such one sided debate , I will not complain. Or else let us have a Town Hall debate style with people coordinating it.Select equal representatives from all parties with a neutral media beaming it live.

    • onyenze

Let the APC organize one and invite the PDP candidate but for this one now Buhari must honor it.why is he afraid of a common debate.infact it is an avenue for for him to floor the man he termed clueless and vision less.what is excuse all about please.APC can conduct as many debate as they want and invite PDP candidate i am sure he will appear.why is Buhari afraid of public debate oh i guess he will standing alone to speak for himself their will be no LAi mohammed,no amechi,no oyegun finally the chicken has come home to roast hahahah

      • Adukwu Atadoga

Because the APC is yet to design a master plan for development for Nigeria and wont be able to answer questions in that direction at the debate. All they have been doing is to counter the ideas of PDP and Criticize PDP. They should come and tell Nigerians what they plan to achieve if they win the elections and stop covering up with these blame games.

    • Shuaibu Bola Victor

Just as Jimi Agbaje(PDP) floored Ambode(APC) in Lagos state. President Jonathan is prepared to floor Buhari.
      UP PDP!

          • onyenze

General without basic primary school certificate.I wonder the kind of civilian regime he can lead.that is more reason we need him in a public debate and now he is evading it.Buhari must appear for a debate. It is Nigerians right to hear from there leaders in public debate at least ask them basic questions

        • Shuaibu Bola Victor

Even in his campaign rallies,he never speaks for more than 5 minutes and always in Hausa language , THIS DICTATOR IS SCARED OF HIS PAST,TELL HIM TO PUT UP OR SHIP OUT !!

BREAKING NEWS! BREAKING NEWS!! BREAKING NEWS!!!

Nigerian Masses and Nigerians in diaspora who voted against ex-military
president, BUHARI, in 2003, 2007 and 2011 presidential elections have already
adduced the following reasons behind their votes against BUHARI. They have
insisted that nothing has changed in the life of Ex-Military Dictator( Buhari)
and as such have resolutely decided to go into election on Feb., 14
Presidential Election to demonstrate their views and to send Buhari to a
    perceptual political retirement.

They spoken in harsh tones to our correspondent denouncing Buhari in all
ramifications . According to them, “below are the reasons we voted against
Buhari in the past elections and why we are prepared to VOTE against him
again this Feb., 14 Nigerian Presidential elections”. Reasons:

    No1.

NIGERIAN STUDENTS. Remember the person who abolished feeding in

tertiary institutions in 1984?. Buhari as a military Dictator then had

no agenda for Nigerian Students, neither does he and his rag tag

    coalition this time.

    Vote to protect our Students.

SAY NO TO BUHARI, SAY NO TO APC

    Nigeria First Project

    No2

NIGERIAN WOMEN. How many Women were in Buhari’s Cabinet as Military

Head of State? NONE. Buhari has no respect for the dignity of women and

regards them as insignificant in national development. That is why he

recklessly said recently that he will abolish the office of the First

Lady if he is elected. Women, who today are at the commanding heights of

Nigeria’s political economy will have no rallying point in a Buhari

    Government.

    Vote to protect our Women.

SAY NO TO BUHARI, SAY NO TO APC

    Nigeria First Project

    Nigeria first Project

    No.

    Nigeria First Project

    No. 5

    No. 7

INVESTORS/ BUSINESS COMMUNITY. General Buhari does not believe in the

principle of a private sector driven economy. He is still ensconced in

the worn out and obsolete practices of a state monopoly control of the

economy. All the gains of the current reforms which have made Nigeria

the biggest investment destination in Africa will be reversed.

Should we be led back to Egypt?

TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS. General Buhari as Military Head of State

undermined the revered and world famous Stools of the Emirate of Kano

and the Ooni of Ife when he unilaterally suspended the Great Alhaji Ado

Bayero and Oba Okunade Sijuwade from office for embarking on private

visits to the State of Israel. At the time they visited Israel, they

violated no laws. Let’s us preserve the dignity of our heritage.

SAY NO TO BUHARI, SAY NO TO APC

    Nigeria first project

    No.

SAY NO TO

    No. 10

    Nigeria First Project

    No. 11

NIGERIAN PEOPLE. Buhari and his APC image launders have continued to

present themselves to Nigerians as people who are going to fight

corruption when voted into power –

    Buhari whose ADC, Major Ojokolo

escorted 53 suitcases money into this Nigeria in 1984 even when he, Buhari had

ordered the closure of the borders.

NIGERIAN PEOPLE. Toppling Shagari govt was the worst of Buhari sins. The

worst civilian govt is better than any military junta. A man who

truncated the Nigerian Second Republic and ushered Nigeria into 16 years

of Military draconian administration cannot turn around to benefit from

Stop wasting your money on a non candidate. Does it not concern you that Mohamed Buhari has no genuine certificate to show?

        • Jack

WE HAVE A PH.D THAT HAS FAILED WOEFULLY,REGARDED AS THE WORLD;S WORST PRESIDENT, NOW WE WANT THE ONE THAT HAS NO CERTIFICATE, IT CANT GET ANY WORSE THAN WHAT WE ARE EXPERIENCING NOW, OR CAN IT?

          • Otile

You are airing your own simplistic view. Who told you that enlightened Nigerians want an illiterate with no certificate? How is he going to stand side by side with Hollande, Obama and other edcated world leaders? Even in Africa, Biya is educated, presidents of S Africa and Ghana are educated.

Colonel, don’t ask me. In real life he answers Muhammadu, in his forged certificate he answers Mohamed.

Debate doesn’t win elections . GEJ has bought all the NEDG inclusive of AIT ,NTA et al. I never expected buhari to go for such a kangaroo debate. The questions were set by GEJ, edited by Abati etc. moreover with the recent lies told by PDP and aired by these stations will it be ok for Apc to participate? No . ON FEBUARI14 we stand.

        • Jack

Reno, debate dont win elections ok..Mitt Romney floored Obama at the 1st debate, but what wins election is people having trust on the candidate like Buhari to solve the problems of Nigeria today that Gej can not solve! My friend, pls reason this man Buhari had participated in the other election debates , and he did pretty well if you doubt check some on youtube. however the issue now is the composition of the debate organisers they are all PDP members and sympathisers . It is therefore a trap to rubbish the man Buhari by directing questions that seems to tarnish his image as against basing the debate on issues.talking about being scared ,did Jonathan honoured the last request for debate in 2011?

Progress what are u talking about.if even they are200 perrcent pdp, do you think a tambuwa or fasola as APC candidate will runfrom such debate? • Funso

I think you should shut up if you are this un-informed. Okay? We are dealing with serious issues here, and not some Ogogoro talk. Let me educate you real quick. The US invitation was to both Buhari and Jonathan. That was the invitation Mr. Goodluck Jonathan (our opponent in the 2015 election) and his people LIED about that our candidate Buhari was ill and he was going to a US hospital. You can see how UNINTELLIGENT that was-right? (2) Buhari could not go because it coincided with Mr. Kerry’s (the American secretary of state) to Nigeria. Hope this helped your dunder head. Next time read and be informed before talk.

Igbo smoking Almajiri what has coincided with this one? The US trip was to give opportunity to top level US officials to interact with Buhari, though GEJ was also invited. They already know what stuff GEJ is made of, but with the certificate scandal,he chickened out from an event he had already given confirmation to attend. That made Kerry to visit the country and have a meeting with the two candidates here.

Mugun, Mumu, continue to display your brainlessness. At least you have admitted your brainlessness and thoughtlessness in your original post. That is what is crucial. Whatever you say after that is GARBAGE!

    ACT AND FIGURE ABOUT BUHARI
How do you expect Buhari to attend such a
public debate? Buhari that just cancelled his international engagement
where he was invited by a US based institute for a mere talk, but he
shied away . Buhari who has not been able to address primary school
pupils all through his life that you are expecting to engage in a fierce
presidential debate? Wonders shall never end.
    Or do you believe his
claims that he has Cambridge Certificate? What he has is a forged
paper. He is never qualified to engage in a public debate. Again, are
you sure if Buhari is still willing to continue with his presidential
    ambition?
Sorry for my choice words, sir. I must say them…

  • Alcindo Satori

Just a few days ago, some individuals on this forum (names withheld) indicated their eagerness in witnessing buhari decimating GEJ at the debates. Ha, how the times change! But the then again, how can a certificate(less) candidate debate a PhD holder? I wonder. FailBuhari 14, 2015 is truly fast approaching.

  • BREAKING NEWS

WHY SHOULD BUHARI DO DEBATE ?

Firstly, Buhari needs urgent medical attention abroad ….. he cannot stand for long hours …… and he cannot speak continuously for more than 5minutes and worse still Buhari is daft and senile ……. reason he refers to Imo State as Ibo State and Osinbajo as Ajibade

Secondly, what if they ask Buhari questions on his non-existent WASC ?

Please I am not a supporter of APC but I am opposed to any attempt to bring Buhari to more disgrace and embarrassment. I think the old man has suffered and endured enough ….. I plead with APC to allow him travel abroad and get urgent medical attention.

I also plead with the Attorney General to ensure that Buhari gets not more than 4years in jail for perjury and forgery … the remaining 10 years should be cancelled …. let him serve only 4years so that he can contest the 2019 Presidential Election after release from jail …… hopefully while in jail Buhari will find time to sit for WASC or NECO

Nigerians must learn to show respect for the Nigerian Army retired Private: Muhammadu Buhari

    • progress

You will soon need urgent medical attention ,if you do not desist from telling lies , what you wish Buhari shall be your portion.

  • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

The indisputable reason for this debate dodging is the inability of the ex-tyrant to even express himself eloquently in English. It is also clear that the old dictator is probably suffering the natural onset of senility,he cannot even remember the name of his running mate,he does not remember Imo state which he called “Ibo State”,he does not know his telephone number etc.

It is clear that Buhari is no more articulate enough to address the nation and convey his agenda in a logical manner to the masses,he speaks Hausa in campaign rallies and hardly talks for more than five minutes at a stretch .

    BUHARI,SHOW YOUR CERTIFICATE ……………………NO

    BUHARI COME FOR DEBATE……………………………….NO

BUHARI ,COME TO CONFERENCE IN THE USA……..NO

WHAT IS BUHARI SCARED OF ? That is the question, the old dictator is running and running and running away…..but he just cannot run away from himself !!

    • onyenze

There is no Lai Mohammed,No john Oyegun,No El Rufai,Buhari is alone on this debate.your guess is as good as mine .he is too afraid to confront the man he termed failure.Buhari is an illiterate indeed.

      • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

        Gbam !!

    • progress

In your mind all this nonsense will change anybodies mind? 90% of Nigerians made up their mind already ,so know amount of propaganda will change that fact , debate or know debate ,Jonathan is going back to otuoke come may 29th after handing over to Gen.Buhari. Go and tell the mumu people he instructed to organise the kangaroo debate to sholve it in their as,,,,,,,

      • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

90 % of Nigerians will not go back to the stone age with the ex-tyrant,that is sure !!

  • Alcindo Satori

Imagine what soludo must be thinking now. Buhari can’t even run with the mantle from soludo, after soludo supposedly gave him the opportunity to tell Nigerians his plans for the economy.

  • Ali Adamu

Buhari Boycotts Presidential Debate Slated for February 8.

    Not suprised .

He knows people won’t understand 70% of what he will say hence the fear .

This man should just do us all a favour and step down. If you can’t debate with the so-called ‘clueless’ GEJ, how do you intend to tackle the intellectually-tasking and complex demands of running a democratic country?

If he suspects any form of connivance, he should suggest that a more trusted body handle the debates. APC and co have been asking the PDP to forget the certificate issue and face real matters. Now the time to face real matters is upon us and they’re looking for an escape route.

An illiterate is an illiterate no matter what, I met an APC fan saying “GMB till Sambo debates with Osibanjo”, Now the guy didn’t even talk about the main contender (Boohari ) because he knows What’s up…

His supporters will back him on this, cause they don’t want further disgrace after the “…I will stabilize oil price” incident.

IMAGINE BOOHARI ADDRESSING THE U.N GENERAL ASSEMBLY. **heart attack**

    • Olu Ade

May be you were in diaper when Buhari was Head of State in 1983 to 1985. Buhari remains a man with integrity and Nigerians were able to hear and understand him far better than Jonathan and Madam peace who murdered English grammar!

      • kudirat

Tell your Mr integrity to provide his certificate and attend the debate shikena. You all should hide your face in shame cos you are all full of corruption and excuses. I know he might even start sleeping during the debate.

        • Olu Ade

You are right, we are the ones who said “stealing is not corruption”, we are the ones who pardon Alamesigha; we are the ones who charged immigration job seekers illegal $1000, and we are the ones who is milking Nigeria dry. Keep pointing fingers like the man you support.

          • kudirat

Shameless like you’re, your evil mind has made you not know the difference between N1000 and $1000, well it is left for the people of Nigeria to decide at least this would have been a good point for your sponsor and Boko haram sponsor. Tell him to attend the debate and stop giving excuses.

          • Olu Ade

            Typical Jonathanian!

        • Ikechukwu_67

You are not interested in his certificate. You are only interested in embarrassing him anyway you can. Initially you guys said he never had any certificate to even enter the army. You guys asked for his mates. You guys went further to enforce the army (against any known rule of any security force) to reveal internal details of a retired General. A detail the army never did in 2003,2007 and 2011 as if the army was not existing then. It never occurred to anyone that the same army general initially said that they had his certificate only to recant later under pressure. You are neither interested that a former C in C said that he saw his certificates. To make the matters worse in this gestapo like “kill am kill am” style, the Cambridge people released the details of 51 years ago yet you are not satisfied.

You don’t want him to contest but he will. Your man must test himself at the ballot box.All these wayo wayo arrangements he his trying with JASU and the courts to scatter everything and disqualify Buhari would never work. All these night meetings and buying people with money just because he wants Buhari not to contest would not gel.

Get ready to contest in Feb 14. Let’s see how you will give GEJ 1.5 million votes in each state of rivers, imo and lagos as you did in 2011. We are waiting! !!

          • kudirat

Am even ashame of your comment that you’re justifying a man that is lying to nigerians and deceiving us, what is the embarrassment there if he has his statement and such question comes up. I even thought it would be the greatest opportunity to show Nigerians he got his certificate. You guys should hide your head in shame and try to present a more credible candidate come 2019.

      • onyenze

That is more reason why buhari should participate in a presidential debate this time.why the abstinence this time around Mr integrity.Public debate is it hard thing to do.Buhari must tell us what he is hiding, common verbal expression how he intends to lead the country is a problem for him.i just tire for this man jare

      • Ali Adamu

Olu Ade don’t take this personal, but am sure you also have the same problem Buhari displays. Old age and Ignorance. Madam peace is the First lady of Nigeria. Please respect her. If you disagree, WHAT IS YOUR WIFE IF YOU HAVE ANY

        • Olu Ade

Respect is not one way, it is a two road; when Madam Peace respects herself by not talking down to dully elected governors, knowing fully well that she has no constitutional role, and when she knows not to embarrass govt officials, Parents of Chibok girls and herself on national TV that’s when she gets respect.

My wife is not in public service, so it is non of your business. Madam peace is with her husband in public service, you can deal with it, you quit. As a patriotic Nigerian, I am one of his husband’s employers, on the 14th of February I am signing off on him to be fired, and you know what, when enough Nigerians sign off to fire them, off they go back to Otuoke.

          • Ali Adamu

Ok Sir, Please explain this statement by Mr. Fashola “It is not exactly clear what the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, was thinking but his comments to Lagosians that his friend and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Jimmy Agbaje, was too old at 57 to rule the state, was a hit below the belt of his own All Progressives Congress (APC), which is fielding a 72-year old retired General, Muhammadu Buhari, to run a country of nearly 170 million persons.

Fashola said: “You know what you must do. Open your eyes clearly. When I took this job, at the age of 44, I was counting the number of white hair on my head. Today, at 52, I am counting the number of black hair on my head. Akinwunmi (Ambode) is younger than me. You need youthfulness to do this job. That man (Mr. Agbaje) is already 60; he cannot cope with this job. If you call him at night he will not take your phone.” This a problem for me. Same Challenge for Mr. Buhari.

          • musa aliyu

What does leadership has to do with old age, apart from wisdom? I don’t blame your likes because you have been maltreated by PDP for 16 years, you think salvation will never come. We refuse to allow your likes keep us in continuous bondage. Change we must, your masters

    • D1

What happened to your GEJ when he was asked to address the United Nations Assembly? Google it, if you don’t know. And you have the effrontery to condemn Buhari! What a joke!

If it was GEJ, that was asked to present any of his certificates, he would have willfully stepped down, trust me! Or tell us the infamous lyrics “I don’t give a damn”!

He can’t even join the fray and condemn or ask Buhari to show is certificate (who born monkey?). He would have been asked to, in good faith, present his own first including his Phd thesis (where he wan get am from?).

If you dare, name one student of GEJ in UniPort, during his doctorate program!

You having an accent doesn’t mean you can’t communicate in English! Dummy!

  • Akiika

The debate is organized by BON, AIT, NTA, FRCN…all arms of Jonathan campaign! I know you guys have a lingering amnesia….didn’t Jonathan turn down the presidential debate of 2011 that all other candidates attended because the organizer refused to give him the questions before hand? He instead debated himself with this same jokers!….and even did another one with D’Banj. Let an independent media group organize the debate and have all the candidates agree to the modalities as it is practiced in any sane country.

    • kudirat

Then tell your sponsors to organise it and invite him let us see if he will give any excuse, you APC e-rats should hide your face in shame. I wonder what plans you and your sponsors have for Nigeria but every plan that is not of good shall surely not come to pass.

    • onyenze

Did Buhari provide his primary school certificate 2011.Buhari must participate in this debate if not he is an illiterate what is he afraid of.what is wrong in public debate or we should accept just like that because recommended him just like his principal did in 1961 for him to enter Nigerian army and fraudulently rose to a general. This is 2015 Buhari must debate a man he termed clueless.after which if his party is not satisfy they still organize their own.let the Nigerian people be the judge and i know that same questions will be through each of them to have their perspectives .

      • musa aliyu

Buhari will not yet he will trounce your idol come FeBuhari 14! Go to sleep.

        • Colonel MH Mariama(rtd)

And if Buhari loses like the other three times that he did, will your youth release that the North fielded the wrong candidate? Will you quietly accept the result and not go on your usual killing spree like you are known to do.I mean your thirst for blood knows no limit. This is the 21st century you know.

    • warry

Let channels. TV join the team .No problem.

      • talkingdrum

They will not let Channels join them. Channels is the only responsible TV station in Nigeria. The world also respect Channels in terms of professionalism,

        • kudirat

Becos it is an APC sponsored TV station that is why it is a responsible TV station, let them organise there own and invite Mr president, if he doesn’t come then Nigerians will then judge. But for now hide your head in shame and tell your so called presidential candidate to come for a debate and sell himself to the Nigerian people.

          • musa aliyu

When jona refused debating in 2011 where were you? You guys just think you can blind us with your nepotistic egoisms?

          • kudirat

You Buhari’s e-rats like dwelling in the past, from 2011 to 2015 haven’t so many things changed? Then there wasn’t issues like Certificates, been the chief sponsor of Boko haram and also health issues. If he is man enough, he should be man enough and attend the debate.

          • Babandum

Of course a lot has changed! stealing is no longer corruption, Nigeria now has less local governments than it did in 2011, our military are now on the defensive against a rag-tag group of terrorists, a pastor of the RCCG is now the VP candidate of the opposition, Fani-kayode is now the campaign mouthpiece of PDP, 2nd Niger bridge is now a mirage, unemployment is now at its highest, Nigeria is now near broke due to the activities of scammers called PDP, etc.

          • kudirat

Tell your sponsors and Association of Past Criminals to stop sabotaging the government and see if transformation wouldn’t be felt all over the country. Also a lot have Changed like we can now discover a so called general without a WASC certificate, a drug baron like Tinubu saying he sacrificed his political ambition as if Nigerians will vote for him, the chief sponsor of Boko haram can tell Nigerians that he will call his boys to order if elected, a so called Mr integrity can boycott a national debate because he is afraid they will ask him truthful questions he can not answer etc. Nigerians are wise now and we know whom to vote because the change you people are glamouring for, is evil and deceitful.

      • musa aliyu

No sir let channels organize. No confidence in the team that collected a billion Nara to ridicule Buhari as they always do in their media

    • Xman Raji

There is no point for any TV Station to organize debate, let any credible organization organize the debate and interested TV Stations will air it. Venues such as University Auditorium, Law School Auditorium in the 6 geopolitical zones. That is how it is being done in developed country.

  • Wisdom-Ivo Gideon Ifeanacho O.

APC’s position clearly shows that they have no ideology to sell to the Nigerian electorates, because for me, the debate is an awesome platform for all political parties to showcase there capacity should they be giving the oppotunity to lead the country… the big question is ‘why has APC not opined for an international body to oversee the debate if they have any problem with BON? Nigerians have outgrown APC’s blackmail and propaganda political strategy.. APC should man up and honour the debate and stop crying wolf.

    • musa aliyu

Consider for a moment that the North brought this calamity on itself when it started fiddling with Sharia as an instrument of political gerrymandering. I bet you forgot how it all began. It is quite convenient to do so but I remind you that denial is not a river in Nigeria. I can see the tendency of corruption in the blood of this so call pdp people, they all knew what is coming after them by Feb 14.

  • Olusola

He debated himself in 2011 he can do it again. he has nothing to tell anyone. By the way what is the name given to someone debating himself?

    • Babandum

      Madman!

  • Okey

Constitution drafters who said, a presidential candidate must have been educated up to WASC level, made a terrible mistake. Please, grant a quota exemption in this debate ! Because, the first point of embarrassment would be for Jonathan to brandish out his authenticated CERTIFICATE from WAEC. Which then will compel the other candidate to show his to the viewing public. Imagine what an embarrassment both the other candidate and our dear nation would face before the viewing audience all over world ! The people who inserted into our Constitution, that a presidential candidate should have a “WASC” are no fools. If, however, one decides to prefer “Katsina mint” (oluwole) instead, occasions like this will expose one out.

Please, grant a “quota” exemption here or the APC Chairman should do a Letter of Recommendation that there be waiver or a “guarantee to pass” for his candidate in this debate.

Up APC, they’ve scored another sucker point!

      • kudirat

Hide your head in shame, you don’t even know what to comment about wahala Boko haram blood tasty sucker like you. Your candidate don’t have anything to offer nigerians and here you are supporting his failure. Well how can you even be better than your pay masters?

        • Wähala

Even the simple English you and your sponsors will not understand, how can you understand when you don’t even have a WASC certificate. Your expiring date is close and all those innocent bloods you have shed, will surely hunt you for the rest of your lives. You hopeless enemy of Nigeria, by their name you will know them, this is one thing Nigerians don’t want know; wahala and all sponsors of Boko haram.

          • Wähala

          • Xman Raji

Is it true that you are a road side hairdresser? Anyway, you sound close to that. PDP has being in government close to 2 decades, what have we to show for it? Nothing other than corruption upon corruption, insecurity upon insecurity.

Do you know how much Obasanjo sold NITEL that Yar’adua took it back from those that bought it? Compare the amount that the akotileta called GEJ sold it for his cronies. You may choose to abuse me for telling you to thinking twice before mortgaging the future of your children’s children, it is ok. If you care to know, the future of my children are well secured, even if I die today, they’d attend the best school in the world they choose to.
But majority of you in Nigeria, because some crumbles are guarantied you today, you think that will be same for your children? You better sit down at your quiet moment and assess what you choose to gain in comparison to what you choose to loose for supporting a corrupt government…..

          • kudirat

As I sat down to read your comment, I was just full of tears that as a road side hairdresser you and your fellow Buhari’s e-rat called me, I can express myself more. As a hairdresser it is a pride to have dignity in labour though am a professional in the oil sector, unless you proud thief like you who go around wishing for what what you don’t have instead of you to humble yourself so God can lift you up. Is it not all those criminals that left PDP that are now in APC and are supporting your candidate without a WASC certificate? You people should hide your head in shame cos you didn’t pass through any walls of school. Incase you don’t know as a hair dresser I can’t make such grammatical error as you did in your comment;”For telling you to thinking twice before mortgaging children’s children are guarantied”. Shai Shai deris God o for murdering English like dis o! You’re just like your chief sponsor and Boko haram general co-ordinator Fake General Buhari without a certificate, shame tell him to attend the debate.

          • Xman Raji

Professional in the oil sector and u are reasoning like a gutter girl. I’m sure u enter that sector with the PDP connection and u can afford not to support them.

Think outside the box, I don’t need to tell u who I am, and as I have said I have secured the life of my kids, even if I die today, they’d go to the best schools in the world. And for ur information I am not card carrying member of any party bit someone that want the best for his country.

Tell us the achievement of GEJ other than he helped u secure job or that you got whatever job u are doing thru the Niger delta connection, ode….

Thank God you took out time out of your idleness to read my comment, this is good that APC e-rats are reading people’s comments. Well this is a mistake from typing, what I meant to say was that; this is one thing Nigerians don’t want now. Bring your presidential candidate and sponsors, I will teach them and educate them so they wouldn’t need to fear a debate. PLEASE Mr integrity, show us your certificate.

          • D1

            Apologies taken! PDP e-goat!

Yes, your candidate has at lunch lot to offer: genocide on Northern soldiers sent to fight his self-sponsored Boko haram with 200 guns for 400 soldiers; perpetual darkness by stealing money meant for repair of nepe; selling Nepal to himself and his cronies, yet refusing to provide electricity, while forcing us pay for darkness; shielding corrupt officials; refusing to attend to Niger second bridge @ Asaba, till election time when he can widowdressingly pretend he doing something; telling us lies that there will be speed trains when only locomotives were brought in, for electioneering only; refusing to develop any region, not even Niger delta but Otuoke; using nigeria’s money to buy 11 fleet of aircraft when the country has no single one to call his own; making few have a better say than the other many, just to peetuate an agenda; making “the largest party in Africa” a shield for criminals and a house of horror where “democracy” is never a rule but an exception; making his wife acquire most juicy plots in MaitamaII, ETC ETC. CHAI! Diaris God oh!

          • kudirat

You talk without proper investigations, is this what your sponsors told you? Where did you get your facts from? Who told you he sold NEPA to himself? Tell yourself the truth if you would, haven’t nigerians enjoyed more power supply than the whole past leaders put together? Maybe you’re mistaking GEJ to be Tinubu and fashola who have sold the whole public properties and now making lagosians to suffer for everything government would have provided for them.

          • richkid

Your just brain washed because you don’t have any fact at all. No content in a write up as big as dis. Nepa not Nepal, under Chinedu Nebi didn’t increase?

            He’s not brainwashed…
xGov. Sylva, a cousin of Dr. Dumbo said there is no electricity in Otuoke because Dumbo is a selfish man only concerned about himself and immediate family… is there light in Otuoke?

          • kudirat

You now see that you’re contradicting yourself, the so called Army that Boko haram collected so much weapons from the so called Military that claims they don’t have weapons. Your sponsors have their people in the military that is sabotaging the efforts of the president but you all will be brought to judgement soon.

      • Colonel MH Mariama (rtd)

Buhari has a date to keep with a majority of Nigerians. We are tired of darkness, we are tired of massive unemployment, we are tired of Curruption. With Buhari integrity our Naira will rise considerably our stoct market will pick because the international community knows that this Government in looting the treasury heavily. Tell your Mr integrity to at least start with presenting his WASC certificate and attending the debate then Nigerians will decide if he is the saviour we have prayed for.

    • edward

Hmmm, interesting.. a man that can not present his SSCE and now he is running aware from d debate. How can a secondary school dropout debate with a Phd holder?

    • BOSSO

You will wait forever if you cant get a neutral platform for the debate.

PREMIUM TIMES: Why don’t you folks stop “moderating my comments”? Just let me point and click in response to these irrelevant distractions that swarm your site. These brood of losers are certainly getting on my nerve with their silly comments. Let me tell you folks a thing to always bear in mind about me:I AM NO ORDINARY PERSON. I AM NOT YOUR KOBO- A- DOZEN CATEGORY OF COMMENTER. I NEED NOT SAY MORE THAN WHAT I HAVE SAID.YOU GET IT, DON’T YOU?

    • BOSSO

      Lol. Tell them

  • samuel

I think this debate Is good for the APC to tell us how to correct all these mistakes they alleged that jonathan has made. The debate will be interesting cos it will give Buhari a chance to communicate with the electorate so as to convince us with a cogent reason on why PDP should give way for APC. I’ve listened to Buhari a couple of times on his campaign, believe me I didn’t get 20% of what he said : it’s either his pronunciations lacks cohesion or he lacked what to say. I’ve been waiting for him to tell us how he would improve our economy, infrastructure and make us Powerhouse in agriculture butt he never does that. All he does is to tell us he will do but never explains how he will do.. These APC cohorts and tyrants has nothing new to offer to this country rather they will take us back to the stone age where people stand in queue to enter bus. Today in edo state, he said he will distribute fertilizer and seed to the farmers and encourage the army to fight the boko haram boy ( I wonder what jonathan has been doing since). They are afraid of the debate cos he will definitely ruin there chances of having 10% come the election. Goodluck still remains the best candidate for Nigeria. Think Goodluck think transformation. Let the good luck continue.. GEJite

    • musa aliyu

You are part of the looters, that explains why you will never understand what Buhari always says. With a clueless master that you have who cannot articulate himself in proper English, you think Buhari is his match! Go on dreaming

      • edward

Let your master not shy aware from the debate and lets confirm who can’t articulate himself…. U get SSCE?

        • Babandum

The problem is not the debate, the problem is the organizers of the debate! Find a neutral ground and GMB will be happy to attend. But the problem is that GEJ cannot debate on a neutral ground where the questions will not be delivered to him before the event. Let us face it, If GEJ is sure of himself and the Opposition complained about the neutrality of the organizers, he will promptly request that both parties should nominate equal number of non-partisan mediators such as media houses, unions, etc as suggested by many Nigerians.

  • richkid

Hahaha why won’t he pull out. An animal who cannot speak a good English. In his formal administration, it was his deputy that use to represent him during press…. an animal with out o level

  • Davids

Buhari the Mr jailer you said? my brothers n sisters lets leave sentimental aside even though GEJ has been lousy as some of u proclaimed, he is still the best man to handle the Nigerian affairs, Buhhari the so -called incorruptible is currently surrounded by those criminals of the old PDP and Tinubu himself and also got the support of the most corrupted Leader Nigeria ever had (Baba Obasanjo), so tell me who is the corruptible the incorruptible will jail if elected into office, and mind you guys, age is not in his side anymore. please i have seen how Nigerian politics have been over the decade and all we have seen is unfulfilled promises but honestly in GEJ case, his weakness as the leader of the nation was the case of not seriously tackling the Boko Haram security issues and i presumed it was the case of trying to avoid to shed so many innocent blood which if it was Obj’s gov’t he would definitely shed millions of innocent blood without looking back…. I’m not supporting any party but my point is Buhari/Osibanjo presidency in Nigeria is not what we are glamoring for, although Boko Haram may be quenched in less than 1 month but infact they will destroy our democracy. ur vote is ur voice so speak without tribal sentiments and lets move the nation forward.

  • richkid

It is evident how corrupt Buhari is, he became a president, enterd the army, became ptf chairman etc. Without a school certificate. He is an amed rubber, who steals his way into offices. Please you can’t steal it this time!! GEJ all the way

    • BOSSO

VOTE FOR BUHARI. Ensure your.children’s future.

  • oluwaseyi mayowa

so it is now confirmed that Buhari and gang has chickened out of the planned presidential debate citing some flimsy excuses. No matter how they tried to package‪#‎ThisIsBuhari‬ ,‪#‎TheRealBuhari‬ we know he is famed for making thoughtless remarks. He is a very bad product.

    • ucheJ

You are very right my dear he is a bad product for sure.

  • ucheJ

We have always known APC as a party who is always afraid of their shadows oviouslly they have not tell Nigerians they are noise makers and propaganders we know them.

    • BOSSO

Really? So if you were Buhari you will go and participate in this PDP-organised charade? That shows how unintelligent you are.

      • fresh15

If he is sure of himself,he should be able to challenge his opponent anywhere, anytime and any day without fear of whatever they will bring on.

        • Babandum

Why not on neutral ground. If I want to fight you, would you agree that my children should be the referees?

  • Mohammed Sule

I can say it for a million times,”APC” has nothing to offer Nigerians. Absolutely nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tugbi

The debate should be anchored by independent bodies not AIT Dokpesi is a Board of Trustee of PDP, NTA we all know is under Jonathan but let NBA, NUJ, 6editors of Newspapers( The Sun,The Nation, The Punch, Vanguard, The Tribune, Guardian & Daily independence) President of ASUU, NLC president. This people can join together and generate question within 30mins to the debate and we will see who and who is more intelligent. Are u expecting NTA staff to ask Jonathan disgrassing question? While the will be eager to disgrace Buhari. No to AIT&NTA FRCN,this is too cheap, debate we want all the editors of Newspaper. Or at least each of the presidential candidate of PDP Aand APC to nominate 3editors of newspaper each

    • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

A bad workman quarrels with his tools !!

      • Olusola

Exactly our point. Jonathan blames everyone but never himself. he didn’t do freedom before starting to work. His boss didn’t pray for him before running away to start his workshop. No need to debate with him.

    • fresh15

Why are you talking nonsense?Has BON not been the one conducting the presidential debates in time past?Must it change now because Buhari is afraid to face reality?.He should prepare himself and attend the debate if he is really qualified to rule Nigeria.

      • Babandum

Which presidential debate did BON conduct in the past? stop hallucinating!

  • Yusuf

We do not support our candidate attending debates by NTA/AIT, the AIT that conducted a poll the same time they are molesting a particular candidate and when futher to shut down the site simpling because their prepared candidate was not making any progress. The debate should be organized by civil society groups

    • Original_Raskal

the national body for the debate must conduct it and anyone who got solution to a problem in naija will attend it. If you have solution to electricity in naija, it doesn’t matter where or who ask you, you will say it right? So why running away? It simply means APC got no idea to solve naija issues. They are just after one thing! National treasury! Rogues! Nigerians are talking about change and believe me, many nigerians are now educated, and buhari need to prove he is smarter than GEJ for him to get a non-religious or non-sentimental vote! That is the point here! Tinubu destroyed APC right from the day he was trying to re-package buhari. If I were buhari, I would have approached this elections in a very simple manner. First, I would apologised for my past utterances, post-2011 violence, oputa panel, tyrant behaviour in 1984, truncating democracy, etc. Then I would tell INEC I only have primary six plus over 10yrs of public service, hence I’m very qualified to contest. Then I’ll avoid attack on GEJ, I will focus on issue-based campaign, analysing each problem and how I will solve it. In that way, I will get my usual religious and sentimental votes from the north and win over educated votes from the masses. But as it is right now, APC has made over 10 mistakes in a row and it will cost them the presidency! As a matter of fact, APC will perform so badly that you would be so surprise.

      • Babandum

You mean you need an hour’s debate to know whether GMB is smarter than GEJ or not? Wow! Just come out with your sentiments – you have one vote and the right to use it the way you want. There is no need hiding behind any garb of objectivity.

  • komentato

I said it all along; Buhari will never come for the debate: Nothing frightens him like speaking English: Unless the organisers agree to have it in Hausa with translators.

    • BOSSO

So he should come on the media controlled by Jonathan? You people are very funny.

    • tundemash

What did he speak at the debate in 2011 when your Otuoke Dumbo dodged the debate but debated Dbanj instead ?

  • Abubakar Gaidam

Since the campaign started it had been discovered that APC has been shielding Buhari from speaking much to the public on what he has to offer Nigerians. Is this not an indictment on his part that someone ho aspires to lead a country of 170million cannot even speak to them on what he has in his offings that makes him better than other candidates. After all said and done it is obvious from 2011 debates that he has got nothing indepth to offer Nigerians except archaic policies and programmes which cannot be applied to global development or 21st century economies. If he and his team are so sure he can deliver, they should tell to debate with other presidential candidates especially Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP and prove Nigerian voters who has got our interest at heart, who has got best policies and programmes that will continue to lead Nigeria to achieve her rightful place among developed nations.NEDG is comprised of great intellectuals drawn from different spheres of journalism beyond BON,so for APC to accuse of partisanship sparks of a party not prepared for governance but planning to ride on Nigerians on the basis of propaganda. All we ask as Nigerians is for General Buhari to appear at the debate and lay bear what he has to offer and leave Nigerians to decide and stop throwing accusations.God bless NIGERIA #GEJ4naija

    No.

TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS. General Buhari as Military Head of State

undermined the revered and world famous Stools of the Emirate of Kano

and the Ooni of Ife when he unilaterally suspended the Great Alhaji Ado

Bayero and Oba Okunade Sijuwade from office for embarking on private

visits to the State of Israel. At the time they visited Israel, they

violated no laws. Let’s us preserve the dignity of our heritage.

NIGERIAN PEOPLE. Buhari and his APC image launders have continued to

present themselves to Nigerians as people who are going to fight

corruption when voted into power –

    Buhari whose ADC, Major Ojokolo

escorted 53 suitcases money into this Nigeria in 1984 even when he, Buhari had

We know. But we had better options then. Now a Buhari with all you say is better than GEJ wrapped in your positives.

    • Grace Georgewill

Is that all! It is unfortunate that our youths have failed to understand what it means to have a sustainable democracy. No matter what the politicians promise you the truth is there would be the rich there would also be the poor. And the only freedom democracy has given the poor which the rich also has is the right to choose its leader. I can tell you the poor would loose that power too, if you and I don’t strengthen the opposition (APC). If we miss it now, this is the likely picture. Nigeria would be under PDP (one party) for the next 20 years because you would have whittled down the power of any opposition party and the only party would be PDP and as such the poor has no choice, the masses have no choice. Whatever PDP gives us we would take. And remember PDP did not promise you they would give you a south president after 4years in fact from the zoning plans in PDP it would still go to the north. US, Uk has two strong parties, South Africa is doing well why can’t we do it in Nigeria. 4years can help us strengthen our democracy in Nigeria such that we the masses can have a choice to choose our leaders and there would be competitions among the parties to please us, so they can be voted in again. Please don’t be blinded by ethnicity and religion vote to sustain our democracy. If we miss it now, No young person would deny himself govt patronage to be nurturing a strong opposition. Be wise or we would regret it. It is not about Jonathan or Buhari it is about giving the masses the choice and the power to choose their leaders God help us.
If you are a management student you would know that strategic planning is usually for a period of ten years to achieve your plans, this is outside your quick wins. PDP has been in power for 16 years which of their major plans have been completed. After 16 years PDP is still talking about restructuring yet Nigerians can’t change to see if another party has something to offer. be wise.central African republic is in chaos, Zimbabwe is in comatose because of this one party system people like you are unknowingly imposing on yourselves. Our problem is we are individual using politics. Pdp is PDP and not Jonathan and they have been there for 16 years. The progress is very very slow because they share the money among themselves first before they think of infractures or building the nation. So think wisely my fellow nigerian. Jonathan has never attended any public debate. We have all heard him speak. Obasanjo isn’t more coordinated than him. They all the same. We need you to vote to strengthen the power of the masses to choose. Real elections starts in 2020 when we can choose between two strong parties based on performance. In economics competition brings growth.

  • MushinSpeaks

Bravo…. When a credible and non-partisan medium calls for one, the party will surely attend…not the BON that has joined to mpropagate falsehood against GMB and is still requesting same man come to be ask debate questions…

  • Debo

They are just the same lot. Was this not the same reason GEJ gave for avoiding a particular debate back 2011? Change my foot.

    • Craig Thomas

Well, Debo, the reality–and a very painful one, I must add–is that, a good number of the Nigerian populace is unaware of what you’ve just stated. And why in the world people will be so gullible, I’ll never know.

APC, PDP,APGA, and so on–they’re all the same criminals in different forms. Nigeria has no leaders yet. At least, not in the near future.

  • fresh15

Buhari does not want to come because he has nothing to offer Nigeria. He just wants to come back with his tyrannical and dictatorial system of governance, to perpetrate more pains on Nigerians worse than he did as a head of state. But Nigerians have not forgotten in a hurry his wicked administration which led to the killing and jailing of innocent Nigerians.Whether he attends the debate or not,we will vote him out.

    • Craig Thomas

You’ll vote him out or you won’t vote for him? Is he the current president? How can you vote a man out when he’s “not in?”

  • ilesanmi

I would have seen APC leaders as enemies of Buhari should they have allowed him to participate in the planned debate because Buhari’s performance at the debate would have been a great disappointment to his followers and a fatal damage to the party. This is a man who can not audibly speak for a minute; he can not easily recall what happened past few seconds.
Wouldn’t they ask him to defend his obnoxious decrees No 2 and 4, the Royal 53 brief cases, seizure and banning of importation of news newsprint materials, rice, wheat, barley, milk, sugar etc. jailing of Nduka Irabor and Thompson, reckless retirement of young soldiers and officers called “dead wood”,

  • Rogers Jumbo

TO BE HONEST WITH THE TRUTH AND WITHOUT BEING BIASED. APC/GENERAL BUHARI HAVE BEING PROMISING US (NIGERIANS) CHANGE! CHANGE!! CHANGE!!! WHICH IS GOOD BUT THEY HAVE NOT TOLD US THE HOW? IF THEY FAIL TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DEBATE AND TELL US THE HOW? I’M SAYING WITHOUT MISSING WORD FOR WORD, THEY HAVE ALREADY LOST THE ELECTION BEFORE THE FEBRUARY 14TH DATE. SAME THING WILL HAPPEN TO PDP/PRESIDENT JONATHAN IF THEY WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE DEBATE AS THEY HAVE BEING PROMISING US TRANSFORMATION AND TELL US THE HOW? THE ONLY WAY OUT IS FOR ALL THE POLITICAL PARTIES CONCERNED TO BE PART OF THE DEBATE AND TELL NIGERIANS THE HOW? IN THEIR PROMISES. MARK MY WORD, BY THE GRACE OF GOD IT WILL COME TO PASS. AMEN.
