‎Nigeria vs. France (Live Updates)

Nigeria seeks to make history at the World Cup.

——————–

The Super Eagles at the end of today may join other legendary African teams that have the honour of reaching the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup.

In that exclusive list for now are the trio of Cameroon, Senegal, and Ghana.

Nigeria is thus seeking to be the fourth team from Africa to make it to the last eight.

To make the historical achievement, the hurdle before the Super Eagles is the French national team who have grown from outsiders to genuine contenders for the top prize in Brazil.

Aside other cash gifts including the $250,000 donated by Nigeria business mogul, Mike Adenuga Jnr, the Eagles have been assured of weighty rewards if they can muster a win.

Reward for the winner in Monday’s clash that starts at 5 p.m. Nigerian time (1 p.m. Rio de Janeiro) is the quarter final at the elegant Estadio Maracana (venue of the Final on July 12, and which also hosted the final when Brazil lost 1-2 to Uruguay in 1950).

The winner will play the victor of the tie between three–time champions, Germany, and African flag-bearers,Algeria, who have reached the Round of 16 for the first time ever.
