Update: Adamawa explosion “just roadside bomb” – Police

The police say no one was killed in the explosion.


The Adamawa police on Tuesday said the explosion that occurred at the Kasuwan Kuturu market in Mubi area of Adamawa State was just a roadside bombing.

The Adamawa State Public Relations Officer, Othman Abubakar, told PREMIUM TIMES that the explosion did not kill or injure anyone.

He also said information received from the Divisional Police Command indicate that no building or infrastructure was destroyed. He said the explosion occurred at 10.45 am.

“We thank God it was just a roadside bomb, there were no casualties, nobody was injured either,” Mr. Abubakar said.

A bomb explosion occurred at Kasuwan Kuturu market in Mubi area of Adamawa State.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Adamawa Commissioner of Police, John Abakasanga, had said the explosion targeted a police patrol team.

Adamawa is one of the three states under emergency rule as a result of the activities of Boko Haram insurgents.
