Thirty-two disciplinary cases involving senior police officers were considered and approved.
The Police Service Commission has announced the promotion of 233 senior police officers.
The promotions were done at the 5th plenary meeting of the Commission held on the 4th and 9th of June, in Abuja, the commission announced.
Also, 32 disciplinary cases involving senior police officers were decided at the plenary with two Superintendents of Police, Nyong Enefiok and Offu Ukereke; Deputy Superintendent Eteng Bassey and Assistant Superintendent Mohammed Kashim all dismissed.
An unnamed Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, was also compulsorily retired for disciplinary reasons, while six unnamed officers were reduced in rank. Ten officers were severely reprimanded, while others were reprimanded or issued Letters of Advice, the commission said.
Among those promoted were two Commissioners of Police, Chris Olakpe and Grace Okudo, who were elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police. Both promotions are with effect from June 4 and June 9 respectively.
Similarly, seven Deputy Commissioners of Police were promoted to the substantive rank of Commissioners of Police. They are Victor Ojo, Elias Wayemeru, Paul Okafor Henry Fadairo, Stella Udosen, Felicia Noelle, and Ovie Oyokomino.
Also elevated were 12 Assistant Commissioners of Police to Deputy Commissioners of Police, while 21 Chief Superintendents of Police were promoted to Assistant Commissioners of Police.
Equally, 27 Superintendents were promoted to Chief Superintendents of Police just as 15 Deputy Superintendents were promoted to Superintendents.
Some 129 Assistant Superintendents of Police were elevated to the rank of Deputy Superintendents while 20, who were omitted during the last Inspectors promotion, were promoted to Assistant Superintendents of Police.
The promotions of Assistant Superintendents of Police to Chief Superintendents of Police are with effect from the February 19 while the others are with effect from June 9.
