ICPC to sensitise Nigerian travellers on fake visas

Seminar would sensitise intending travellers to the consequences of patronising touts to obtain visas.

The Independent Corrupt Practises and Other related offences Commission, ICPC, says it will organise a one-day stakeholders’ seminar on how to identify fake visas in the country.

The programme would involve embassies, Nigerian Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service and relevant travel agencies.

This was in a statement by Folu Olamiti, spokesperson of the commission, in Abuja on Monday.

It said that the seminar would sensitise intending travellers to the consequences of patronising touts to obtain visas.

The ICPC said the use of touts to obtain fake travelling documents was not in the interest of the image of the country.

According to the commission, the seminar will expose stakeholders to all the tricks used by touts to scam people.

The event, billed for Lagos State on June 17, is under the first phase of programmes to be organised by the commission, to reduce the cases of fake travel documents issued by touts to unsuspecting Nigerians.
