“We shall be commissioning the Central Research Laboratory Building donated by Dr Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry and an alumnus of the university.

“The other is the Alumni Jubilee House built and donated by the University Alumni Association in alliance with GT Bank Plc.

“We shall also be commissioning the Biodun Shobanjo Mass Communication Multi Media Building donated by Chief Biodun Shobanjo, Chairman, Troyka Group,” he said.

He said that the institution had continued to witness growth and development in all facets particularly in infrastructure and academic leadership.

Mr. Bello said that in line with the university’s mandate to contribute to nation building and international relations, it had admitted the first set of students for the B.A. Chinese Studies programme.

He said that the initiative was the first of its kind in Nigeria, adding that the programme was aimed at taking advantage of the growing influence of China and Chinese companies in the daily lives of the citizens.

“There is hardly any state in Nigeria without a Chinese manufacturing or construction company.

“This programme will equally enable Nigerians to bridge language and cultural gaps,” he said.

Mr. Bello urged the Federal Government to make available sufficient funds to tackle decaying infrastructure and improve service delivery in the institution.
