The suspects had been on the police wanted list over their involvement in different crimes, the police says.
The police in an operation arrested the suspected kingpins whose gang had been terrorising residents in Mushin area of Lagos.
The Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, said on Friday that three members of the gang were already in police custody.
A group of suspected hoodlums on April 21 invaded eight streets in Mushin Local Government and destroyed more than 30 vehicles.
Ms. Braide said that the suspects were arrested at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday in their hideout at Karimu Street, Mushin.
She, however, said that the suspects had been on the police wanted list over their involvement in different killings and destruction of property within Mushin and its environs.
“They (suspects) are arrested while hatching plan to attack some people in Oshodi area.’’
“We are on the trail of other members of the gang as the command will not relent until total calm is restored to Mushin and other areas,” Ms. Braide said.
