Ms. Timehin was killed at her home last Friday.
The 21-year-old domestic help of a retired judge, Funmilayo Timehin, has admitted to murdering the deceased.
He was arraigned on Friday before an Abeokuta Magistrate Court in Ogun State on one count charge of murder.
David Ndah, a former servant of the 65-year-old retired chief magistrate, killed the deceased with a machete last week Friday at her home in Laderin Estate, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The Prosecutor, Banji Sangotokun, in the charge sheet captioned, “Commissioner of Police versus David Uche Ndah”, said the accused person committed the offence at about 3 p.m. on March 28.
The charge sheet reads in part: “That you David Uche Ndah on the 28th of March, 2014, at about 1500hrs, at Block 11, Flat C of Laderin House Estate, Abeokuta in Abeokuta Magisterial District did unlawfully killed one Funmilayo Timehin, aged 65 by matchetting her to death”.
The prosecutor said the accused committed the offence “contrary to Section 316 and punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code Law of Ogun state of Nigeria 2006”.
The accused pleaded guilty to the offence as charged.
The trial Magistrate, Anthony Araba, in his ruling, ordered the police prosecutor, Mr. Sangotokun to duplicate the case file so that the Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP, can advise the court.
The judge ordered that the accused be remanded in prison pending when the advice of the DPP will be ready
