APC calls for Reno Omokri’s arrest, cautions presidency not to profit from Boko Haram killings

Reno Omokri

“The best way to know the answers to these questions is for the State Security Service to immediately arrest and question Omokri…”

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has said the failed attempt by a presidential aide, Reno Omokri, to link suspended Governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank, Lamido Sanusi, to the increased attacks by Boko Haram, has shown that the presidency may be seeking to profit from the insurgency that has led to the death of thousands of people.

PREMIUM TIMES had shown how Mr. Omokri, President Goodluck Jonathan’s adviser on New Media, had created an article and circulated same using a false name, Simon Wendell. The article had tried to link Mr. Sanusi to the sponsorship of the outlawed Boko Haram sect.

Both Mr. Omokri and the presidency have kept mum since the aide’s action was revealed and condemned by several Nigerians.

In a statement issued in Lagos on Monday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the APC said Mr. Omokri’s attempt to push an article he authored into the public domain, using a fake name, is the clearest indication yet that the presidency has a case to answer and may have been feeding Nigerians with doctored information.

It said the attempt to blame the recent spate of attacks by Boko Haram on Mr. Sanusi raises some pertinent questions: “Is the presidency trying to gain political mileage from the death of innocents Nigerians, including school children, whom it could not protect? Could this be why the government has largely treated the insurgency with levity, especially in its early days? Does the presidency know more than it is telling Nigerians on Boko Haram? Is there a government Boko Haram that acts on instructions from some quarters? Is anyone in government profiting financially from the battle against Boko Haram that they may be sabotaging efforts to end the insurgency?”

“The best way to know the answers to these questions is for the State Security Service to immediately arrest and question Omokri on why he was trying to act by subterfuge to misinform Nigerians, how long he has been engaged in this shameful and irresponsible act, what his connections are, if any, with Boko Haram, and whether or not his handlers, including the President, approve of his chicanery,” the APC said.

The party said Mr. Omokri’s action should be seen within the context of some curious coincidence between several past Boko Haram attacks and certain low moments and/or at critical junctures in Mr. Jonathan’s administration.

Giving some instances, the APC said the January 20th 2012 deadly attacks in Kano that left about 162 dead occurred at the height of the fuel subsidy protests that shut down the country; the Christmas Day attack in Suleja that killed about 37 people and injured 57 appeared to be a distraction from the series of deadly attacks that had rocked the country earlier; the fact that Boko Haram struck within days of fugitive ex-Bayelsa Governor Alamieyeseigha’s amnesty that attracted widespread criticism; and the resurgence of Boko Haram that coincided with Mr. Sanusi’s suspension.

“The coincidences become even more curious when viewed against the apparently informed statements by two Governors in the North-east, where recent attacks have been concentrated. First, Borno Governor Kashim Shettima called attention to the fact that we need to do more to fortify our troops if they are to defeat Boko Haram, only for the statement to be twisted out of context and a vicious offensive launched against him by presidential attack dogs

“Secondly, Gov. Murtala Nyako of Adamawa, himself a retired military top brass, wondered aloud why the checkpoint near the FGC in Yobe was removed before the attack and who ordered the removal? Why the authorities have not been able to trace the deadly weapons being used by Boko Haram to the manufacturers? Who transports the weapons and how is that possible when the states affected are under a state of emergency? Why retired Gen. Shuwa was killed and the army failed to respond during the attack on his residence, and why the air force base in Maiduguri was attacked even with an army unit nearby

“Thirdly, the fact that the attacks have spiked as we move closer to the 2015 elections, and a presidential aide is trying to link a perceived enemy of the Jonathan Administration to the insurgency suggest the government may be viewing the terrorist attacks as a wild card to be leveraged one way or the other ahead of the elections,” the APC said.

APC and their propensity for shouting at their top most voice over irrelevant issues. Did we not hear Sanusi blaming Boko Haram insurrection on disparity in federal allocated revenue between the Southern oil producing states and the Northern states? APC should present a worth-while manifesto and abstain from noise-making before it is too late; if it isn’t already.

    • basic

There is no noise maker but you. When FG is busy using Boko Haram matter to win cheap political points you are here accusing APC of cutting them to standard. Who knows may be this is another Reno Omokri’s fake handle.

Reno, I understand how your stomach churns whenever this news gets back. You know as I we all do, that Jonathan will eventually sack you; the question is when. I believe you should worry more about your future in this nation of frail memory but consistent history. Pray as you may, like Oduahgate, yours will remain on the media mention until you exit!

This is really scary news and Nigerians should be thoroughly alarmed. If this is true, then every Nigerian should be on his/her toes. These types of actions show desperation and are usually precursors to incipient dictatorship. Nigerians should watch Jonathan very carefully else we will have a brutal dictatorship in our hands. Jonathan’s decision to bestow honour on Abacha is perhaps a pointer to the fact that he is of the same mould. Nigerians should not be deceived by his apparently docile and meek facade.

  • Truthometer

Dumbo through Reno Omokri is dancing on the grave of the innocent school children massacred in Yobe. What a shameless and desperately insensitive clown running and ruining Nigeria?

It is a shame that while GEJ is on daily basis assuring Nigerians that the issue of Boko Haram will soon be resolved. his own aides are busy distracting security agents from the real culprits. Three months ago, I told them that the completion is coming. The completion is Atiku Abubakar’s Peoples Democratic Movement zooming into APC. I don’t know how much they spend on the media. But the noise they generate in the system is so deafening that you will wonder why the President, who has more money, does not use the press to attack them.

So, I have no difficulty understanding what is happening. The other day, I was going somewhere; I saw a train zooming past. Train? I was told it was going to Kano. Do you remember when that happened last? Look at agriculture; you find revolution there. There is a book coming out soon by some young men, who are surprised by the bad press the President is getting.
They came to me to help them organise the launch. I said, ‘Yes if you have hard facts like you do, let’s give it to Nigerians so that they know the truth and the truth will set them free.’

Since I know that there is a sworn attack on the President, to point out only bad things about him, I decided there is no point joining the attack on Jonathan. Let me see what is right and praise it. I will also attack the things that are wrong

Well Known Documented Facts on THE EMIR OF THIEVES >>>>> Sanusi Lamido Sanusi

    1. He is a highly valuable member of Boko Haram.
    2. He is a well known supplier of the financial and strategic planning needs of Boko Haram.
    3. He authorized and ordered the recent upsurge in Boko Haram attacks.

It is also instructive to note that the Emir of Thieves >>>> Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has very strong links to murderous terrorists that greatly influenced his childhood and his life. They include:

    1. Alhaji Inua Wada:

The Emir of Thieves Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was brought up by his uncle Alhaji Inua Wada whom he lived with in Lagos.

Alhaji Inua Wada is the mastermind and the brain behind the 1966 bloody pogrom against Southerners which resulted in the Hausa-Fulani massacre of over 10,000 Military Officers from Southern Nigeria including the gruesome killing Major General J. T. U. Aguiyi-Ironsi and over 2million Ibo civilian men, women and children ….. they did not even spare children in the womb.
This action spearheaded from behind by Alhaji Inua Wada eventually led to the civil war that cost a further 7million innocent Nigerian lives.

Not Yet Done Even in Old Age: Recently, please recall that Inua Wada was the person who said the North will go to WAR if Jonathan is appointed Acting President.

Inua Wada even at old age is a terrorist to the core and a man of violence. He is uncle to Sanusi and he was mainly responsible for bringing up Sanusi. Sanusi lived in his house from childhood to adulthood.

To put it mildly, Inua Wada discipled Sanusi from childhood to live for and to support violence and terrorism.

    2. Alhaji Umaru Muttalab: A well known founder and sponsor of Islamic terrorism

These two men plus late Osama Bin Laden undeniably greatly influenced the life of Mallam Sanusi Lamido and the result is that Sanusi turned out to be a terrorist who started his campaign of terrorism by beheading innocent Gideon Akaluka in Kano 1995

    • biddy

mani_kay na Reno Omokri can yu tell me the relationship between your post and the story? I can see how Nigeria is at a dead end given that the Mani_kay way of thinking is the way of thinking in Jonathan’s presidency.

      • Mani_Kay

The relationship with the post are numerous. Let me just mention one.

It is in Sanusi DNA to gravitate towards Islamic mindless violence and terrorism.

The so called document was forged by APC but the contents are irrevocable facts.

  • arewethishopeless

Once again, Jonathan and the presidency demonstrate the nature of evil runing this country to ground.

A government that celebrates in the midst of death; one that seeks to earn mileage from the murder of children, what else do we need as evidence that the DEVIL NOW RESIDES IN ASO ROCK?!

Many have criticized Jonathan and his administration, but you have not hidden your support for him. Why is that?

      Answer:::
I know the beginning. I was there and I understood it. Therefore, I can’t deceive myself.
*Some people said he should not even be acting President.
*Later they said he shouldn’t contest for the Presidency.
*They went further to say they would make Nigeria ungovernable if he contests.
*Then one of them came out to contest along with Jonathan and said he had already won, even before voting started.
*He said if he didn’t win the election, then it means it was rigged. He spoke to uneducated people; his emotional followers.
*When results were announced, he did not win. His followers took it that he had been rigged out.
*They started killing people; youth corps members, all kinds of people.
*When that was not enough, they brought in Boko Haram. Boko Haram has continued to kill people till today. Somebody called me from Kogi State and said, ‘Can we continue with these people?’ I said, what do you mean ‘with these people?’ He was referring to the sponsors of Boko Haram.

From the statement made by some people about taking (Lt. Gen. Azubuike) Ihejirika, (former chief of army staff) to the International Criminal Court, we now know who the sponsors of Boko Haram are.
Boko Haram is doing everything to make Nigeria ungovernable, when halfway, it was not making enough progress, they started a ‘Political Haram.’
The ‘Political Haram’ was unleashed on Peoples Democratic Party. Seven governors of PDP started visiting military, former military Heads of State and also (former President Olusegun) Obasanjo, who is both military and civilian. Of the seven, six were Muslims. The direction was clear. Eventually they zoomed into APC.

It is a historical fact that Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was implicated in the Gideon Akaluka beheading affair of 1995 and was subsequently arrested in Kano and detained by the Abacha administration in Sokoto, Sokoto State.

Sanusi was released after the intervention of (amongst others) Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab.

Alhaji Mutallab used his influence to place Sanusi comfortably in the banking sector beginning with the United Bank for Africa from where he moved to First Bank where he (Mutallab) was chairman.

Malam Sanusi rose within the ranks, aided by his relationship with Mutallab, until he was nominated by President Yar’adua and confirmed by the senate as the Governor of the CBN in 2009.

It is pertinent to note two incidences that cannot be coincidences. The son of Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab (Farouk Abdul Mutallab) eventually entered into infamy when he was arrested and tried for attempting to detonate an under wear bomb on a Northwest Airlines flight into America. Farouk Abdul Mutallab became radicalized after he had gone to study Sharia and Islamic studies in Yemen in 2009.

This was exactly the same trajectory earlier taken by the disgraced Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who schooled at the International University of Africa in Khartoum, Sudan in the mid 1990s while Osama Bin Laden was also a resident of the city.

Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab appears to be a recurring decimal in the life of Sanusi and the unifying factor appears to be their passion for an Islamic world order. For example, one of Sanusi’s first act as Central Bank Governor was to begin the push for Islamic banking which culminated in the establishment of the first Islamic bank in Nigeria, Jaiz Bank. Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab is the Managing Director of this bank.

Given the quantum of funds that were appropriated by the Sanusi led CBN on non banking related activities and donations, and the strong desire that he and Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab have for proselytizing Islam as well as their circumstantial links to terror (Sanusi via Gideon Akaluka and Mutallab via his son) it is not such a leap for them to facilitate the activities of terrorists.

There’s no escaping The Hague for murdering innocent school children. The Ijaw President is a humble sadist and a psychopath, no doubt on my mind. He steals N1tr budgeted yearly for non-existent security and profits politically from setting half the country ablaze. Totally agree with u .D president obviously is behind all of these. How come d presidency has been silent about this recent accusatn. D likes of Omokri definitely receive their orders from their master. Even d so called presidential media chat is sickening and truly shows how evil Jonathan is. No words of sympathy to the families who lost loved ones, rather, he was threatening d Governor who only made sincere comments. I really look forward 2 a day when we d youths will confront all these wicked politicians (PDP, APC and co) who are simply stealing from us. We really need a revolution in this country. Its high time we stopped recycling all these fools under d guises of their diff political parties. We need fresh parties where we can nominate ordinary Nigerians with outstanding qualities who are passionate about this country. Really sick n tired of the excesses of all these rogues jare

Absolute madness. Arrest him for what? Liar mohammed thinks we are unaware that the alleged documents were cooked up by APC to divert our attention from Sanusi’s graft. APC is a bad news. Sanusi must go to jail-period. What nonsense.

Boko haram started since 1966 when they teamed up with their Yoruba counterparts and massacred over 3million Igbo innocent women and babies. Today, they have regrouped and more sophisticated and also have teamed up with same Yorubas via Tinubu. However, this time their targets is not only Igbos but all naijas, albeit Igbos are still their prime target. Mohammedans are known for killing Igbos. No one takes Lair Mohammed serious, he has a brilliant reputation for peddling falsehood and mischief making. The alleged documents linking Reno Omokri was made up by the high ranks of APC to divert our attention from the monumental graft of Sanusi-who’s a top financier of the party. Buhari vowed to make naija ungovernable should Jona wins in 2011 and he’s living up to his threats. Naija is not one-is all for the SS&SE oil-you hate GEJ but love his backyard oil-madness. Nigeria must be divided-period. Let’s go our separate ways-biko.

The first decision by the new acting CBN governor was to close down some over 80 microfinance companies licenced by Sanusi. Surely this must have been under the instruction from a hire authority. We should accertain the authenticity, viability and recoverability of all moneys lent to persons, businesses by these microfinance banks. We should also find out who these people are are.

  • okwu

The way the APC is pushing this story, I think there is something to fear. All the governors financing boko haram have all ran into APC after GEJ refused to stop the EFCC from investigating them. In the APC, they have all become progresive and soon will be claiming persecution.

I am glad that more Nigerians are becoming aware and interested in events that affects our wellbeing as a country. Its no surprise that this administration politicizes any event or issues that are contrary to what they want the public to believe, even a case as grievous as the loss of lives of innocent Nigerians. What Omokri has done only confirms the extend to which this government is willing to go to diverts the attention of the public from its atrocities. WE DEMAND OMOKRIS’ AREEST AND QUESTIONING

  • okdog1

Come on, people! Use your heads. I have no love for this administration either and disagree with Mr. Omokri on just about everything, but this is clearly a hatchet job and it is not Reno Omokri.

Everything he is alleged to have done could be done by ANYONE in a matter of minutes. It’s easy to create Facebook accounts, download and use people’s pictures and you can put ANY name you want on any Microsoft program to make it appear that it was someone else.

You REALLY think the Special Assistant to the President on NEW MEDIA would create a fake Facebook profile with his OWN picture and use his own name on the program used to create the document?!

Also, you really think the Federal Governmet of Nigeria would not use a program like TOR to mask the IP address? This is a free program ANYONE can download and somehow the Federal Government isn’t using it or something similar?

Lastly, you really think the President’s Special Assistant has the time to do all this and wouldn’t simply delegate it to someone else? Use your brains, people.
