The Boko Haram sect has intensified attacks in the North-East region in the past few days

Unknown gunmen on Wednesday night raided three villages in Madagali and Michika local governments in Adamawa state, residents and officials have said.

According to the chairman of Madagali Local Government, Maina Ularamu, who spoke with PREMIUM TIMES over the telephone, the attackers, suspected to be members of the extremist Boko Haram sect, first attacked Kirchiga Village before proceeding to Shuwa town both in Madagali Local Government Area.

“They came to Kirchiga at a little after 8p.m and opened fire sporadically at the people,” he said.

He however could not confirm any casualty‎ figure as at midnight on Thursday.

Mr. Ularamu added that the gunmen also‎ attacked neighbouring Shuwa town, adding that the sounds of gunfire could still be heard in the town as at the time we spoke to him.

Also, a resident of Michika town, who declined to be named for security reasons, told PREMIUM TIMES that he could hear gunshots in the town.

He reported intermittent sounds of gunshots and said most people in the town had run home for safety.

The spokesperson of the Nigerian Army in Yola, Nuhu Jafaru, could not be reached to comment for this story. Calls to him were unsuccessful as his telephone line failed to connect.

Not again! This has to stop …

Make una nor worry, nor be 2015 election? Jonathan would win it.

Nigerians are now very much aware of the purpose of the killings and would pay the Hausa Fulani people back with their side of the coin when the elections come.

Same way Sanusi’s false alarm is back- firing on him now. The senate is concluding its investigation already and that man will sure go to jail.

    • Almu

So Hausa Fulani are killing their own people to win elections abi?
In your own twisted logic the Hausa Fulani kill themselves, terrorize their own people, depopulate themselves, provide grounds to cancel election in that part of the north which is a stronghold of the opposition; this you want us to believe is the Hausa Fulani strategy to defeat Jonathan in 2015 elections? My only conclusion is you are either blinded by maniacal hatred for the Hausa Fulani or part and parcel of those that are actively killing our children in North Eastern Nigeria

Let me add Hausa Fulani Muslims.

They do it from Iraq to Somalia, to Yemen to Syria to Bornu, to Yobe, to Adamawa. Brood of vipers.

The intention is to make Jonathan unpopular. Buhari said it, Ciroma did and so many others. Please tell me why your brothers tie bombs on themselves and die with it, na Jonathan dey tie am?

Until we rise above religion, creed, ethnicity, clan and interests, we will continue to wallow in this quagmire of unrepentant shame. From the trend of responses posted here, it is decipherable that we have left the issue on hand and instead resorted to attacking one another. Why can’t we see BH as the common enemy and fight it as one, same way we come together when we play international football.

If by whatever design we have been brought together, let us deal with the common enemy as one, a single broomstick is easily bent/broken unlike a bunch!

  • PEOPLE

NORTHERNERS ARE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT BOKO HARAM KILLING. ONLY SOUTHERNERS CARE ABOUT THE KILLING. THE KILLING IS HAND WORK OF NORTHERN ELDERS TRYING TO MAKE NIGERIA UNGOVERNABLE FOR JONATHAN. WE SHOULD STOP BLAMING GEJ.

It is so sad that we are still fighting in the social media, trying to justify what is not justifiable, trying to make things rights which we know it can never be make right like the killings of Innocent people, what ever the circumstance or the region. I think it is high time we forget about aether we are from north or south,Christian or muslin and point out the truth and say it the way it is without sentiment.
