The former military leader registered in Katsina State.
A former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday obtained the All Progressives Congress, APC, membership card.
He was registered at the Babban-gida polling unit, Sarkin-yara in Daura, Daura Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The former presidential candidate of defunct CPC in the 2011 polls, was registered by the Chairman of APC Registration Committee in Katsina State, Bello Suleiman.
His registration card’s number is 01000001KAT/DAU.
Speaking shortly after his registration, Mr. Buhari urged all APC supporters to come out en masse and register.
Those who accompanied Mr. Buhari included the party’s Deputy National Chairman, Aminu Masari, Katsina State Chairman of APC Interim Management Committee, Ahmad Dangiwa, Sadiq Yar’Adua, among others.
The APC membership registration in Katsina State commenced on Saturday, four days after it started nationwide.
Also in Owo, Ondo State, a chieftain of the APC, Rotimi Akeredolu, on Saturday expressed satisfaction with the turnout of people for the party’s ongoing membership registration.
Mr. Akeredolu, a former governorship candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, spoke in Owo shortly after he registered as a member of APC.
The former President of the Nigerian Bar Association registered at Ward 5 Unit 6 in Ijebu area of the town.
“The turnout is overwhelming. We have to send for more materials because of the turnout.
“People are already geared for change … Nigerians are ready for change.
“We are targeting above 400,000 members in Ondo State, we have exhausted 100 membership forms in each of the polling units and we have 3,900 units in the state,” he told journalists.
He said intending members could still register on-line after the expiration of the ongoing exercise on Monday.
“Membership registration is a continuous exercise,” he said.
The APC membership registration, which began across the country on Wednesday, is expected to end on February 10.
