The governor registered as the first member of APC in Borno
The Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, on Thursday, at about 12:50 p.m., registered as the first member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state. The governor also debunked rumours that he had plans to dump the party for the Peoples Democratic Party.
Mr. Shettima’s registration, which was supervised by both national and state registration officials of the party, took place within the precinct of the Government House, Maiduguri.
Mr. Shettima said his registration had effectively positioned him as a bonafide and loyal member of the party.
“My party registration number is 13061001, as you can see I am the number one citizen of Borno State and by all means the number one APC man in Borno state,” he said.
Mr. Shettima also denied the rumour that he was contemplating decamping to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
“I have never contemplated joining any other party and my registration today is as good as putting a lie to the so-called rumour that I will decamp to any other party. I am a pure APC leader and I remain committed to the APC,” he said.
