Golobo died on Thursday
A popular comedian, Shehu Jibril, known among Kannywood circles as Golobo, died on Thursday morning in his home town, Talatan Mafara, Zamfara State.
He was buried on Thursday.
Golobo was very prominent in the Hausa entertainment industry, especially for his weekly TV series on Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, in the mid 80s.
His most recent performance was in the Kannywood movie, Maiciki. He starred alongside Rabilu Musa Ibro and Jamila Nagudu.
An actor and producer, Murtala Balala who attended the burial said, “Golobo is going to be missed in the Kannywood comedy movies. Many of us in the Kannywood have to abandon what we are doing this morning to attend the burial in Zamfara State. We pray that Allah grant him eternal rest, Amin.”
