Ghana wins on penalty with 10 men. They proceed to the finals and will meet Libya.

22:05 Full Time, no goals to both sides. Even a last second nodder could not help Nigeria net a goal. the Match now proceeds to penalty shootouts.

22:00 After almost two and half hours of play, match still goalless. The Nigerian side have not benefited from their one-man advantage. Match may end in penalty shoots as Nigeria sustained blunders before the Ghana post.

21:44 105 minutes played, Nigeria 0-0 Ghana. Fatigue appear to have set in.

21:33 Barnabas Imenger of Lobi Stars misses a chance to put Nigeria ahead in the extra time as he draws blank on a pass by Abubakar.

Imenger again!!! he shoots wide front right in front of the Ghana goalkeeper after receiving a pass in a Nigerian counter attack.

21:27 First half of the extra time starts.

The official announced attendance at the Ghana-Nigeria match is 12,560

For the first time at the CHAN tournament, the Eagles fail to score inside 90 minutes and will now have to try to find the back of the net in the extra time period. It is still goalless at the Free States Stadium and indeed it could be anybody’s game.

21:23 Boths sides could not net any goal in the four minutes is added to the second half. The match will proceed to extra time.

21:16 The match is nearing full time. It appears the match will be decided in extra time, or penalty kicks.

21:07 Keshi seem to be considering more changes as three players are warming up behind the Ghana goal post. Meanwhile, Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillars is off, Joshua Obaje of Warri Wolves is in. Ghana misses a clear chance to go ahead. The Nigerian side still fumbling in front of the Ghana post.

21:02 Ghana substitute: Abdul Mohammed replaces Bansey.

20:58 Nigeria wasting a lot of chances and ballooning balls in front of the post. Passes are left incomplete or inaccurate. Ghana, meanwhile, maintain a strong defense while tip-toeing to pull off strikes on the Nigerian side.

20:49 Ghana’s J. Okpoku yellow-carded for a foul tackle on a Nigerian player. So far, both teams have manged to keep each away from their goal-lines.

Adesuei, who forced Oguenyi into a short coma after a rough collision is red-carded for another reckless tackle on a Nigerian player. Ghan now playing 10 against 11.

Nigerian substitution: Banabas Imenger in, Ede Ifeanyi is out.

20:46 Ghana earns a strategic freekick at the edge of the Nigerian 18 yard box. The kick is taken but blocked by a Nigerian defense wall. Game continues.

20:42 Ghana’s Yahaya Mohammed is wheeled off the pitch after an injury. He is quickly substituted with Samuel Afful. Fouls committed:  Nigeria 8-14 Ghana

20:39 Ede misses a chance to put Nigeria ahead as he shoots wide after shuffling two Ghana defenders. Shots off target Nigeria 4-1 Ghana.

20:34 Ghana goalkeeper is on the floor receiving treatment after colliding with Nigerian defenders. He is back on his feet and good to go.

20:32 Second half begins. No changes in the line-up of both sides. A Nigerian early break is stopped by the Ghana defense.

20:18 First half ends. Nigeria 0-0 Ghana.

20:15 2 minutes is added to the first half. But just before the whistle, Ghana Samuel Ainossoon is given a yellow card. Nigeria’s Uzochukwu is also given a yellow card for a reckless tackle as Nigeria’s skipper, Abubakar is wheeled out by medics.

20:09 The close shaves by the Eagles has electrified the stadium as both the Ghana and Nigeria supporters have stepped up the tempo of their singing and drumming. The first half is nearing end but both sides appear to be toughed against each other.

20:03 The Nigerian side appear to have gotten back into the game, competing favourably in ball possession and number of attempts on goal. Nigeria has put up good strikes recently, but the Ghana defence are not giving away any chances. Meanwhile Ozuenyi, the Nigerian skipper who collapsed after a collision with a Ghana player, has been sanctioned with a yellow card.

19:57 Abubakar fires a thunder-shot, beating the Ghana goalkeeper but unfortunately hits the crossbar as Nigeria fights to get back into the ‘attempted goals’ table. It was a terrific shot from almost the middle of the pitch.

19:44 Ghana’s Adusei gets the first yellow card of the match. The match is very physical and the Nigerian players have been on the receiving side. 15 minutes played, Nigeria  0-0 Ghana.

19:41 Nigeria hits the side nets in its first close quest for goal. Meanwhile, Ozoenyi is back to play. But Coach Keshi is on his feet already.

19:35 Chrisantus Ejike Uzoenyi appears to have fainted after a hard collision with a Ghanaian player. He has been revived by the medical team and wheeled to the sidelines. He is Nigeria’s star player.  So far, Ghana has had the upper hand, narrowly missing a goal against Nigeria after Banseh’s strike narrowly missed the uprights.

19:30 Showdown time: the Super Eagles and Ghana’s Black Stars match out from the dressing and now set for their respective national anthems.

19:18 On the background, there is drumming and singing by the Nigerian supporters club, the numbers not as much as expected nonetheless. Announcer now reeling out the names of the two teams.

19:16 Both teams done with warm ups and are now back in the dressing room. They are expected back on the pitch in less than 15 minutes for the much awaited kickoff.

19:06 The two teams;  Ghana and Nigeria now on the pitch for warm up following the conclusion of the first semi final match btw Libya and Zimbabwe . Meanwhile, the Libya vs Zimbabwe match have just finished. Nigeria vs Ghana will be played on the same pitch.

18:55 It’s closer to kick-off time at the Free States Stadium in Bloemfontein as Nigeria’s Super Eagles get set to trade tackles with Ghana’s Black Stars in the second semi-final match of the 2014 African Nations Championship, CHAN.
