The accident happened near Navy Town, Lagos.
Rescue officials have saved a woman, her child, and their boat operator after their boat capsized at around midnight near Navy Town, Lagos, Thursday, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has said.
The trio were travelling in darkness when they came across a moving ship at Ogogoro Village, Boulous, according to the agency.
“The bigger boat did not see them. They were pushed off and fell under water before they were rescued alive immediately,” said Ibrahim Farinloye, NEMA South-West Spokesperson.
A joint rescue team of officers of the National Inland Waterways Authority, Nigeria Navy Special Unit, Police Disaster Unit, and NEMA participated in the rescue operation, Mr. Farinloye added.
