Nigerian League: LMC to monitor payment of players’ salaries

A minimum salary of N150,000 has been pegged for the players
The League Management Company, LMC, will track the payment of salaries of players of the Globacom Nigeria Premier League to ensure clubs adhere to the new payment directive, the Chief Operating Officer of the company, Salihu Abubakar, has said.

Speaking to PREMIUM TIMES, Mr. Abubakar said the LMC will ensure that no player is owed.

“We will monitor the player’s salaries. It is very easy, we can ask for the books and we can also ask them to show proof of payments.

“One of the other things we are concentrating on is to make sure all the players are paid through their bank accounts; We can easily check that”, he said.

The club owners, after much deliberations, agreed on a minimum salary of N150,000 for league players, while abolishing sign on fees.
